Jace watches as Reaper dives on the very injured demon diseased wolf. The wolf was standing with its pack inspecting the food that was on the ground. This inspection of food was cut short as the wolves heard a whimper and scream.

They all turn to see the wolf dead on the ground with a bird on top of it. The wolves stay staring at Reaper until he chirps. This chirp sent all of the wolves running, as the bird was very scary in their eyes.

During this whole exchange Jace is trying to hold in his laughter as a little bird managed to scare off 3 big wolves. This laughter stopped as Jace heard the notification. "Ding, companion Reaper has killed a Demon Diseased Wolf, gained 50xp" "Ding, companion Reaper's skill Slash has leveled up."

Jace shouts to Reaper "Good job Reaper'' to which Reaper chirps back. Jace then nods to himself 'Looks like my theory was right again'. Earlier when Jace was walking to the hunting spot with Reaper he started to wonder why Reaper hadn't leveled up this skill sooner.

'I got it! Everything Reaper has killed I would always have a part in it. This would mean that there is more than one cut when the enemy is killed leading to the skill not leveling up'.

This was why when the wolves came, only Reaper attacked. Jace then opens the ability description for Reaper's Slash to see if the system would show any changes, which to Jace's surprise it did.

Uses 5 mana to cover talons in a layer of mana increasing cutting power by 30%.

Requirements to level up: Locked until the Adult State

Jace seeing this sighs that they couldn't level up the ability anytime soon. At this time Reaper arrives back on Jace's shoulder. Jace then turns to him "Well how do you feel? Any difference?."

Reaper shakes his head no to which Jace responds "Well then, what do you think of continuing our hunting adventure?." This was met with a chirp by Reaper to which Jace smiles and responds "That's what I thought your answer would be."

Back at the destroyed demon outpost the Messenger arrives on the transportation machine. When he gets there he immediately runs to what he expects used to be the medical tent. When he arrives he grabs one of the demon bodies and inspects it.

After he does he stands back up and mudders "As I thought, the bodies here all have their bones broken'. The Messenger then decides that he should do another investigation and try to make it more thorough as he missed something as big as this. The Messenger this time looks through every body top to bottom making sure he misses nothing.

As well, the Messenger sifts through all the ashes of buildings he can find. He manages to find nothing once again which surprises him and he mudders once again. "I thought that I would definitely find an object like what they showed me at the demon base."

What the Messenger didn't know is that Jace had recovered all of his throwing knives from the demon outpost. The messenger was now absolutely sure that he had checked everything he possibly could head back to his transportation machine.

On his way he grabs a few of the bodies of one of the demons that had broken bones for the medical professionals to compare. The Messenger then takes one last look at the demon outpost before taking off.

Back at the demon camp the Chief had called an all camp meeting. All of the demons had made a half circle facing the Chiefs tent. This massive group of demons was filled with chatter of hundreds of demons. Most of the chatter, as expected, was focused on the question of 'why did the Chief call a meeting'? This question was soon answered as the Chief walked out of his tent with the 3 heads of departments and his aid behind him.

The Chief clears his throat causing the chatter to stop and silence to fall over the mass of demons. The Chief then begins "I have called this meeting today to discuss the recent attacks against our base. During these attacks as most of you know some of our own were injured by the attackers. I have the unfortunate news that these men have sadly passed."

This news causes the demons to erupt in chatter that quickly quiets by the Chief before continuing. "These men have passed due to a believed disease or infection caused by the attacker. What I am saying is if you fit any of these categories or feel any of these symptoms I am about to say visit the medical tent immediately.

If you were cut or injured on the days of the attacks. Your mana feels in any way unnatural. Your bones have started to crack or break unexpectedly and suddenly. Finally, your vital organs hurt or feel like they are being attacked by your mana. Is that all clear!?"

The Chief gets a deafening "Yes, Chief." From the demons in front of him. The Chief then says "Alright, back to work." The Chief then sees something that makes him freeze and turn to the Medical head. About one eighth of all the demons instead of going to work started walking to the medical tent. When the Chief realizes what this probably means he says "I think we are going to have a very big problem on our hands."

The Medical head nods "Not a big problem, a massive problem, Chief." The Medical head then rushes to the medical tent. As this happened the Messenger arrives back to the demon base.

When the Messenger sees all the demons at the medical tent he immediately says to the Chief "Let's go, I have something I need to talk to you about now."

The Chief nods and the two of them walk into the Chief's tent. After around a minute, the two heads and aid hear maniacal laughter from the tent as well as "Good idea, let's do it."
