In the Chiefs tent the Chief was sitting behind his desk with 4 demons in front of him. The Chief then begins "Aid, give me a run down of what happened again." One of the demons then stands up "A few men were attacked by an unknown object. After this everyone prepared for an attack that never happened, chief."

The demon then sits down while the Chief nods and turns to the next demon. "Give me a report on the men's injuries" the demon then stands up to answer the question.

"The men were punctured by a sharp foreign object. The wounds were small but went deep and appeared to be caused by mana as well as the object. We have cleaned the wounds and have found nothing other than mana on the objects. We expect the injured to make a full and complete recovery, chief."

After the report the Chief turns to the next demon and continues his investigation. "What is the report of the defense of the base?" the next demon stands to report.

"We were able to get into defensive positions within a minute. We need to work on the response time to give orders after the attack. There was a 30 second time period between the attack and the first order to get into a defense position. All in all, defense of the base was up to par, chief."

The Chief responds "Stay after to talk about that response time. Finally, what is the report about the attackers?" The final demon then stands up to give the report.

"We have identified that there was one attacker. They set up their position in a tree outside of the perimeter wall. From this position they had full vision of the base and would have had a clear shot. They also appeared to have escaped from the same direction they came from. I believe the best solution is to take out a perimeter of trees around the base. This way they will not be able to get a good shot. Also, there should be more guards on duty, chief."

This has the Chief nodding and saying to the aid "Give my order that the trees should be taken out under the control of the investigation division." The aid nods and responds "Yes, chief." The Chief then ends the meeting and talks with the defense head who stayed after.

At this time Jace was walking back to the safe house when Reaper gave a chirp. Jace then climbs up a tree and gets into a fighting position. After a minute what Reaper warned Jace about arrives at Jace's position.

In front of Jace was a pack of 6 demon diseased wolves which Jace smiled at. Jace then starts to think what the best way to use the wolves would be and gets an idea. 'When I was leveling up Reaper even though I injured the wolves Reaper got all the xp. But we were fighting at the demon camp, we split the xp when I got the last hit'.

Jace then looks at Reaper and says "Alright, we are going to get to the bottom of this mystery." Jace then gets out his throwing knives and injures all of the wolves like he has before. As Jace is climbing down the tree Jace tells Reaper the plan who responds with a chirp.

When they get to the first wolf Reaper slashes it with his talon and then Jace kills it. After that Jace hears the notification "Ding, killed one, diseased wolf with companion Reaper, xp gained is 25 for both . Due to the title effect xp increased to 30."

Jace then moves to the next wolf and this time he slashes it then nods to Reaper. Reaper swoops down and kills the wolf and Jace hears the same notification which confuses him. "Ding, killed one, diseased wolf with companion Reaper, xp gained is 25 for both . Due to the title effect xp increased to 30."

Jace, now satisfied with the experiment, tells Reaper to take care of the rest of them. After Reaper finishes with the wolves they continue on their way. As they are walking Jace decides to try his luck with the system and asks 'Do you know why Reaper got all the xp at that time with the wolves when he was low leveled?'.

To Jaces surprise the system answers "Ding, it was because the companion was at a fletchling level it was prioritized for xp. The reason the user earned xp during the demon fight was because the user made the last attack. If the user didn't make the last attack all xp would go to a companion to rase it out of fletchling level. Now both user and companion will share xp unless one is solely responsible for defeating the enemy."

Jace is happy that he was able to get a response from the system and arrives to the safe house without any other events. When Jace does he decides to practice his branch jumping once again. Jace redraws the branches on the ground and begins practicing.

Jace jumps once and lands perfectly to which he then moves to branches with increased distance between them. Jace continues this until he arrives at the last branches he drew and realizes he did a perfect run. Jace managed to complete all the jumps perfectly. 'It seems that all the fighting and use of explosive propulsion increased my proficiency. I think I should finally try the real thing on the trees'.

Jace then climbs his safe house tree and arrives at a stable branch. When Jace arrives he decides to implement a safety feature. Jace grabs out his throwing knives and inserts them into the tree while being connected with mana tethers.

'If I fall then I will just pull myself to the knives and save myself'. Jace doing final inspections sees everything is good to go and looks across to another tree finding a good branch. Jace then gets into position and uses explosive propulsion leaping into the air.
