Jace is eating dinner with Reaper while thinking. 'I had planned to continue to upgrade my diseases to continuously weaken the demon base, but now there is a more urgent situation. If I can't hide my presence like I did today, then if the demons ever do that again, I'm dead'.
Jace continues to mull over this choice until he makes his decision after he finishes eating. 'The demon base has been weakened substantially already, and no attacks will matter if I am caught and die. Creating a hex that erases my presence will be the best choice, but what should the formula look like?'
At this time Jace feels his connection to his hex that he set up to test disappear. Jace gets up and checks the stop watch to see that the hex had lasted for four hours. 'That is a pretty good amount of time, I will be able to work with that'. Jace, finishing with his investigation, starts to plan what his formula will look like.
'Better to plan it now when I can defend myself easily, than when I am in hex creation and can't '. Jace with a piece of paper draws the first thing that comes to mind. On the paper Jace had drawn a crude looking cape with a hood. Jace then holds it up to Reaper for him to inspect.
Reaper is confused at what Jace was showing him, but chirps anyways. Jace then goes to the center of the room to start his hex creation. Jace sits in the middle of the room and because he had completed the first step and half of step 2 he is able to skip right to the second part of step 2.
Jace starts with putting mana in his finger and begins drawing the cloak in front of him while stopping the mana from activating. This takes Jace around 20 minutes which is shorter than it took in the hex creation insight.
During this time Reaper is watching Jace draw his hex while thinking 'That doesn't really look like a cloak'. Jace finishes the hex formula and smiles 'Now comes the easy part'. Jace takes the mana on his finger and attaches it to the formula. It sticks like Jace knew it would and he moves it to his head and into his brain.
When he does this he feels the feeling he knows very well, his conscious moving and his vision going black. Jace then wakes up in the room with his hex formula in front of him and gets to work. Jace walks up to the formula, putting his hand out and pumping mana into it.
While doing this the effect he is thinking of is 'to erase everything about your presence in the world'. After a few minutes Jace wonders what is happening as the formula isn't lighting up with mana like it did last time.

As soon as Jace finished this thought the formula activates creating a cloak that Jace only knows exists because it is made of his mana. Jace's mind is then once again pulled back into the real world, to which he sits up and checks the time which was around 45 minutes after sundown.
After this Jace hears the notification. "Ding, Successfully learned Hex (novice level)" "Ding, please choose name for new hex."
Jace sitting there decides to name the hex after what he saw when it activated, before seeing its effects "Cloak of Nothing." After this Jace opens his hex spell library to inspect his new hex.
Cloak of Nothing (novice level)
User creates a cloak of mana that covers the entire body using 10 points of mana, lasting for 10 minutes. The cloak hides everything under it from reality against anything with a combat score below or equal to 50.
Jace, seeing this description is ecstatic and decides to try it out at once. Jace draws the hex and after it activates Jace and Reaper look at the cloak in awe. The cloak was a crystal white that even in the darkness of their safe house seemed to glow with radiance.
Jace then reaches out in a stuber, grabs the cloak and in one move puts it on. Jace now wearing the cloak feels no difference, Jace couldn't feel the cloak on his body at all, but when he looked down he could see it shining.
Meanwhile, Reaper is having a panic attack and starts chirping. In his eyes Jace had disappeared in front of him after putting on a mysterious glowing object. This chirping causes Jace to flip down the hood, allowing his head to be seen, and say to Reaper "It's fine, this is my new hex."
Reaper flies over to Jace concerned, but now not making a ruckus, so Jace explains the new hex to him. After the explanation the duo head off to bed.
Meanwhile at the demon base the ending to the Defense heads meeting was unfolding. The Defense head had called a whole base meeting earlier in the day, which started at sundown.
After everyone had gathered the Defense walked out of the Chiefs tent flanked by the Medical head and aid, exactly like the Chief had done numerous times.
As soon as the Defense head exits the tent he immediately starts "I have called you all here to inform you of the changes that will help to repair the damages sustained in the attack today. The goal of these changes is to have everything back to how it was by the time the Chief comes back in 3 night cycles.
The first change is increasing working hours and moving all squads to gather wood or rebuilding the medical tent." This causes an eruption of shouting from the demons, but the Defense head doesn't care and continues talking.
"All of you will be informed by your squad captains of your new assignments. Anyone that violates these changes will die immediately, so back to work!!" This causes all of the demons to become quiet to which the Defense head yells again "You heard me, back to work!"
After the demons started moving the Defense head says to the Medical head "Come inside I need something from you for my plan to repair the base." The Medical head nods and follows him in. After a few minutes, however, the tent erupts in yelling.
