Jace wakes up the next day to the sun cresting over the horizon. Jace begins to stir in his safe house and get some food and water. Jace starts his day off with a can of beans and enjoys it little.

Jace then grabs his weapons and turns on his phone to see if he can catch a news broadcast. Jace is once again surprised that cell service is still working and finds a news broadcast.

The reporter starts the broadcast in his monotone voice "Hello, We have lost no more cities after the DSC took over and started sending children to help out the military. The DSC has also created a map of safe zones that are being protected and have supplies like food and water."

As the map was about to appear on screen Jace's phone dies because he couldn't charge it last night as his charger was solar powered. Jace then postpones going out further from his safe house without at least a map of where the holes that appeared were.

Jace while waiting decides that climbing his tree might be a good idea. Jace didn't make the decision without thought. 'The leaf covering of the tree is very thick and will keep me hidden from view.

As well it is taller than the surrounding trees but if I position correctly. I should be able to see well and be hidden in the canopy of the tree and others. Also it will be very hard to get to me since the only way would be with a very tall ladder or a technique like my Way of the Raptor'.

Jace begins his climb up the side of the tree. After a few minutes he arrives at the branch he was looking for. Jace gets positioned on it and looks out over the top of the trees.

It is still early morning so the sun is still rising and the view is memorizing. 'Man this view is beautiful, it just sucks that it is in the middle of an apocalyptic invasion'.

After Jace finishes looking at the view he begins scouting around the area. Jace sees his charred and broken home in one direction which reminds him of his parents and he quickly turns away.

In the other 2 directions he just sees the tree canopy with some small openings here and there. In the distance behind him however in the sky he sees the hole however there was nothing dropping out of it.

'They must be moving all their troops to where the fighting is since they already won here'. Jace also sees in the direction of the hole many more pillars of smoke rising up. Jace climbs back down the tree and grabs his charged phone before opening up a normal map.

Jace then copies down the location of all the holes in the sky and the safe house. 'I still don't know how long it is before the cell signal and towers go down. It is better to be safe than sorry'. Jace finishes up labeling the map heads in the direction of the hole.

'I can level up by killing some of the scout demons. It should be relatively safe if I use my throwing knives and only fight them one at a time'.

After around an hour of walking Jace hears his first sound of movement and drops low to the ground. Jace had worn and bought dark and brown clothing after the invasion for this reason. 'It will be harder to see someone in brown clothing while in the forest.

At night if I am in all black I will be close to invisible.' Jace looking around the tree sees a group of 3 scout demons in front of him and decides what to do. Jace looks at their distance away from him and their path of travel starts drawing an exploding hex.

When he finishes he slowly moves away and positions himself behind another tree where he can see the demons. As the demons continue walking as planned Jace pulls out his throwing knife as a precautionary measure and waits.

As the demons step over the hex Jace detonates it, exploding 2 of them and sending them flying. The third standing there in shock gets hit in the head by Jace's knife before it even realizes what happened. Jace then hears the notification "Ding, you have killed 3 demon scouts, earning 300xp. Due to the title effect increased to 360xp."

'Man that title is so good, it is just more rewards for the same effort'. Jace continues his journey towards the hole but after a few more hours of searching and not finding anything turns around. Arriving back a little before sun down he once again has another can of beans and turns on his phone.

Jace finding a broad cast sees that it is live from the war at the hole. The reporter with a helmet and the press vest on starts talking into the mic "I am here at California's Los Angeles hole. The situation here is still chaotic as the beast have continued their non stop invasion.

The military and DSC have been fighting non stop for the last 36 hours and have been at a stalemate that has no signs of ending." The camera then panned to a drone that was showing the entirety of the fighting.

It appeared that the military had set up a circular barricade a little larger than the hole. The troops and children where set up on the outside of this fighting everything that was falling into the circle.

Right at that moment it looked like the military and DSC had won when around 200 more demons fell into the circle. "That is it for us. We will keep you posted. Back to you Jack"the reporter finished.

Jace then listened to the next story and found it useless for his situation and went to find the map of the safe zones from the broadcast he missed.
