Announcement

Hello, I have decided to drop this version of the story completely. During the time I will be taking off from this story I will be focused on improving my grammar and overall writing abilities. If I ever come back to this story it will be in a rewrite, as I plan on starting a new story with better grammar and world building that I believe will be better than this one . Thanks to everyone that gave me advice and enjoyed my story.

After this point is the same as the chapter The Journey as Royal Road has a minimum number of words needed.

Jace was waiting for Reaper by a tree. As Reaper comes down from the tree tops Jace hears a twig break. Jace pulls out his karambits and motions to Reaper to get ready. After a few minutes of waiting and nothing happening, Jace lets down his guard and starts traveling. Behind him in the woods the Chief gets ready to attack. After a few minutes of travel Jace feels a weird sense from beside him. Before he can turn he feels an impact on his side, knocking the air out of him. Jace flies a few feet the other direction, lucky hitting no trees on the way. As he recovers he sees a demon with 2 horns and a bump staring at him, holding a war hammer. To Jace’s surprise the demon began to talk. “Hi their brat. Time to die, like the others at your camp.” The Chief starts to charge as Jace stands up again. As the Chief swings the war hammer, Jace narrowly dodges to the side causing it to miss. When the hammer hit the ground, the ground itself cracked. Jace seeing this knew that he wasn’t a match for this demon yet. The Chief takes another swing aiming for Jaces head. Jace squats to doge, but the attack turned out to be a faint. The Chief redirects the hammer right into Jace’s shoulder and side. This sends Jace over the edge of a hill hearing a crack. He rolls down into shrubs below as he hears the Chief say. “Stop that you stupid bird.” Reaper was sending feather barrages at the Chiefs face distracting him. Jace takes this time to draw the cloak of nothing to escape. As he finishes the cloak, the Chief looks down the hill. “I know you are down there. Don’t think you can escape again.” Jace quickly gets up and hides behind a tree yelling “Reaper, make sure he doesn’t follow you, then meet me home.” The Chief snaps to his position from the sound sending a punch and shock wave. At this time Jace had already moved out of the way and heard Reaper chirp and fly into the sky. The Chief laughs “Brat I may have lost you, but I won't lose your pet.” After Jace walks for a few minutes he grabs his side and coughs some blood. Jace seeing this opens his stats, looking at his health. Health:60/240. Jace, seeing this, knows that he is very injured and needs a doctor before it is too late. Jace then continues his journey. After arriving at the safe house he looks at his health once again as he feels even worse. Health:58/240. Jace nods to himself ‘I really don’t think I am surviving this’ before activating Disease Box with Self Heal V2 to try to counteract the damage. Jace continues this while waiting until Reaper arrives back at the safe house.

In the woods the Chief is continuing to trail Reaper. Reaper is trying everything, hiding in trees for a bit, flying into other bird flocks. After an hour he still hadn’t lost the Chief. This was when he arrived at a big lake. Reaper immediately flew to the other side and hid in the trees. After he saw the Chief on the other side of the lake start looking everywhere, he continued to sit. Eventually the Chief saw a bird that looked almost identical to Reaper fly and started chasing it. Reaper, seeing his window of opportunity, escaped and flew back home. When he arrived Jace was still laying on the floor but was getting paler. Jace turns to him saying “Your back bud. I don’t know if I will make it through this one. Can you grab me my map?” Reaper complies and Jace opens it to see the closest safe zone. “It is going to be a long trip of a few days, but I think it is our only shot and certainly beats sitting here to die.” Jace then proceeded to get up and pack the bare necessities, keeping everything as light as possible. When he was ready he cast Disease Box and set out on a journey he didn’t know that he would return from.

Back with the Chief he finally caught a closer look at the bird he was following and realized his mistake. This realization led to thim swinging his war hammer and yelling in anger, breaking some trees in the process. After he recovered he immediately went back to the demon base. When he arrives he sees that everything is cleaned up and things had mostly returned to normal. The first person to see the Chief was the aid. “Do you want me to call all the heads, Chief?” The Chief nods “Yes, tell them to meet up at my makeshift tent for now.” “Yes, Chief” the Chief hears as the aid scurries away. After the heads arrive the Chief begins the normal meeting routine of everyone reporting. “We have lost another 15 demons to explosions, another 7 to untreatable injuries and 14 are now in the tent with treatable injuries, Chief” the Medical head reports. The Defense head stepping up reports “Our response time and execution was perfect, so there is nothing to worry about, Chief.” The Investigation head then asked a question instead of giving a report “Did our info turn out to be true Chief” This surprised the other heads as the Chief responded “I did indeed find him. I wasn’t able to kill him, but did injure him so that we won’t be messed with for a while.” The Defense head asks confused “You found the attacker?” The Chief nods “Yes, I found the attacker. The Investigation head's info said that whenever there is a flying object in the sky over the base we will be attacked. This was true, so I followed the flying object and found our attacker. Now everyone out I have things to report to home base.” Everyone immediately shuffled out as the Chief grabbed the machine that survived the fire calling up his superior. “Yes, hello Superior. I got him.” The Superior responses “Really? Good, I think that I should send a messenger to reward you. How does that sound?” The Chief responds, “That sounds perfect.” To which the Superior responds “Good, they will arrive in the next few days.” After the machine shuts down the Chief calls the aid into his tent.
