The black fog figure sitting on his throne was smiling at the three-horned demon that was leaving after bringing him good news. A few moments earlier, the three-horned demon had come running into the throne room. This caused the figure to look up and growl “What do you want?” The demon bows and says “Good news sire, we believe we have found a trail that will lead us to The Piece.”
The figure nods and asks “Are you certain?” The demon responds “Yes, sire.” This causes the Figure to say “Amazing, reward the finder of this trail immediately.” The demon bows once again and says “It will be done, sire.”
Before leaving the demon also says “There has been a report of an above average native that has been attacking our bases and has destroyed an outpost. We have sent men out to catch and kill him, but I was wondering if you wanted the native for research, sire.”
The figure shakes his head “No, kill them. They are worth nothing to me.” The Demon bows and leaves. After the figure had seen that the demon had left he decided that he would go back down to study the tablet.
At the demon base the demons were ready at the first sign of first light. All of the demons were ready and equipped for war, some had weapons, others had armor as their claws were their weapons.
Even though they all were a little different they all were restless and couldn’t wait to go find and fight this attacker. They couldn't move out however as the Chief was still in his tent. After a few more moments of waiting the Chief comes out of his tent flanked by the Investigation head.
The Chief looks over the horde of demons in front of him and yells “Let's go get em!!!” This makes the horde erupt in cheers and war cries as the Chief with the Investigation head leads the army out of the base and into the forest.
Around this same time Jace wakes up and starts preparing for his day. ‘I already know what I am doing today. It’s time to test my new disease on a good old base of demons’. Jace, finishing with everything, grabs his stuff and heads out with Reaper flying above him.
After around 2 hours of walking Jace sees Reaper come flying towards him chirping. Jace immediately knows that something must be coming and whatever it is, it is not good for him. Jace goes into survival mode and tries to find the nearest place of water. Thankfully Jace found one in around 5 seconds.

After doing this he covers himself in mud as fast as he can which takes around another minute. At this point Jace can hear some of the sounds of breaking twigs in the distance. Jace then immediately decides that climbing a tree is once again the best option, so that is what he does.
Jace manages to get up the tree with around a minute to spare as not long after he is in the tree he sees the demons below him. ‘That is a lot of demons. I should be fine as I covered my scent as well as I am hiding in the leaves of the tree which means they will have a very hard time seeing me. Hopefully they don’t find my base, but it should be fine as everything is air tight so they won’t smell anything’.
As Jace sat there thinking this he sees a demon sniff the air by the river bank and Jace goes stiff. The demon however, after standing there for a moment continues on forward. Jace then relaxes a little but stays in the tree until Reaper comes back and chirps to him indicating the demons were far enough away. Jace gets back onto the ground and sighs ‘Man, that was nerve wracking. I swear he almost had me and that today would be my last’.
After standing there for a moment thinking Jace looks towards the direction of his base ‘I really hope they don’t find my safe house’. Jace then looks at the ground and sees that the footprints end at the river bank and there are no more on the other side.
‘Looks like that was the very end of their search party and looking at their direction right now they might just miss it entirely’. Jace, feeling better now, continues towards the demon base but not before rewarding Reaper.
“Good job bud, you really saved me there.” Jace then gives Reaper a piece of the food he brought. To which Reaper responds with a chirp and grabs the piece before flying off to scout.
After another hour of searching the Chief and the Investigation head were getting close to Jaces safe house, however when they were only around a mile away the Chief sent the order to stop advancing and to assemble on him. After a few minutes of waiting all of the demons arrive and the Chief begins.
“Now all of you will not be able to feel it but I can. In that direction is our enemy.” The Chief then points in the direction of the safe zone that Jace visited which confuses the demons. The Chief decides to explain more “There is a large concentration of mana in that direction. I believe this to be the base of the attacker and some of his buddies. While it is a large concentration of mana it appears to be too weak to handle our assault if we attack.”
The Chief then pauses and lets the new information sink in before yelling. “This means we now march and we march as fast and efficiently as possible, is that understood?” The Chief gets a resounding “Yes, Chief” to which the demons then start their march towards the safe zone.
Meanwhile in the other state the Captain looks across the area between his base and the demons which had been named the familiar phrase of “no man's land.”
The Captain then sees that the demons were sending out an attack. When the Captain sees this attack all he does is curse.
