"Hello, esteemed princess. My name is Mengdie, and I'm sorry for disturbing your rest," Mengdie said, bowing with her hands together.

The silver-haired princess smiled faintly and replied, "Is this how people from Silver Moon greet each other? It's a bit different from what I know. I am Sashara. Sashara Luwell. You can just call me Sashara."

Mengdie gave an "Oh" in response. Observing the gentle and smiling girl named Sashara, she was at a loss for words for a moment. Intrigued by Sashara's unique ears, Mengdie couldn't help but take a closer look.

"Half-elf... Does it seem strange?" Sashara touched her pointed ears with a hint of sorrow in her eyes.

Mengdie quickly shook her head, not wanting to make the girl feel self-conscious about her ears.

"No, no! It's fine! Please don't mind it."

Sashara's sorrowful look vanished, replaced by a smile again. She then began to size up Mengdie, eyeing her tattered clothes.

"Are you... from the Mountain Eagle - the Pierre family?"

Mengdie chuckled bitterly. How much trouble had this outfit caused her today? She just hoped the real Pierre Eagle wasn't starved to death.

"No, I'm not. I just 'borrowed' this outfit for a while," Mengdie casually answered, then got straight to the point. "Princess Sashara, I actually came to you for something very important to me..."

Just as Mengdie was about to reveal her purpose, there were a few knocks on the door, followed by a deep, middle-aged male voice.

"Princess, may I come in? Before you marry into Silver Moon, I have a few words to tell you."

This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience.

Sashara frowned slightly, glancing at Mengdie. In her current disheveled state, with clothes torn and much of her skin exposed, it was inconvenient for Mengdie to appear in front of a man.

"How about this, Miss Mengdie? Why don't you go to the room over there and take a bath? You've sweated a lot. It won't be too late to talk after you wash and change into another set of clothes. Take off this unattractive men's clothing; feel free to wear mine."

Before Mengdie could respond, Sashara anxiously pushed her towards the bathroom, closed the door, and went to meet the visitor.

Pushed into the bathroom in a daze, Mengdie felt somewhat uncomfortable. What did she mean by "unattractive men's clothing"? Since her transformation until now, this was the first time she had found her clothes to be quite pleasing! Men's clothing torn in battle, what could be more stylish than that? Yet, this girl called it unattractive???

Well... different aesthetic preferences. Women's minds will never be the same as men's.

With a helpless shrug, Mengdie looked at the marble bathroom. But on second thought, she really was quite tired and decided to refresh herself with a bath.

After undressing and stepping into the pool resembling a small swimming pool, Mengdie exhaled deeply, watching her curvaceous body with dissatisfaction, and shook her head.

After the bath, she felt refreshed. Stepping out of the pool, water droplets fell from her hair. She dried off with a towel and combed her hair, which felt softer than ever.

Putting on her hair clip, Mengdie didn't even touch Sashara's clothes but put on her ragged men's clothing again. She noticed the sleeves were torn, so she ripped them off completely, along with the frayed hem of the pants.

"Ah, much more comfortable now! No wonder it was difficult to move; it was the clothes' fault." Mengdie shook her arms, feeling proud of her refreshed outfit. She tiptoed to the bathroom door, listening carefully to the conversation outside.

It wasn't that Mengdie liked eavesdropping, but Sashara's reluctance to let the visitor see Mengdie made her decide to wait until the person outside had really left.

"Princess, please focus your mind. Your marriage into Silver Moon is your father's, the king's, wish. This is of great significance for our empire's future domination."

"Mm... I understand... I'll prepare myself mentally..."

(Sashara's voice sounds forced... She really doesn't want to marry Edward, does she? Understandable. That blockhead is not a good choice for a lifelong partner. And he likes to take things without returning them.)

"Sashara, I've always regarded you as my daughter. I hope you can find happiness. But for the prosperity of the empire, as a princess, you should understand."

"I know... Chancellor Rein. I'll fulfill my duties."

"That's good. I'll take my leave now. I'll come back for you at the final moment. Rest well."

The sound of the door closing indicated that Chancellor Rein had left. Mengdie exhaled and cautiously opened the bathroom door, stepping out.

Seeing Sashara again, her expression was far from relaxed. The girl sat blankly in front of the fireplace, her silver-grey eyes reflecting the flickering flames, appearing helpless and weak...

"Did you hear?" Sashara asked softly, her eyes still on the flames.

Mengdie nodded gently, approaching Sashara and apologizing, "Sorry, I didn't mean to eavesdrop."

"It's nothing..." Sashara shook her head. Then, forcing a smile, she added, "Why are you still wearing those clothes? Don't my clothes fit you?"

Mengdie smiled, twirling a ribbon in her hand. Sashara's clothes indeed "didn't fit" her. But it was best not to say that out loud.
