The silent movement lasted for nearly thirty minutes before Cisco dared to release Edward from the electric net's restraint. The first thing Edward did upon regaining his freedom was to shout at Cisco and swing his sword, intending to go rescue people. The two unfortunate royal knights had no choice but to do their best to hold him back. Seeing her husband struggling to restrain Edward, Linda turned to Mengdie and pleaded urgently, "Little sister Mengdie, please talk to the young master... We know he will listen to you! His status is noble, and we absolutely cannot let him act recklessly!"
'Why would he listen to me?' Mengdie wanted to say that. Linda's term 'Little sister Mengdie' had already annoyed her greatly. While contemplating how to persuade Edward, she also regretted her impulsive action of discarding the necklace. If it were her from before, what would three hundred people mean to her? Just a flick of her finger could bring them all down!
"Alright, alright, brother. Even if you can't bear it, you must. If you rashly charge in now, not only will you fail to save anyone, but you might also lose your own life."
Hearing Mengdie speak, Edward's struggling reduced immediately. He turned around, looking at Mengdie, and a glimmer of hope flickered in his eyes previously filled with anger. Could it be... did this girl call him an idiot and a fool just because he was too straightforward, making her speak in anger?
"Meng... Mengdie! Are... are you worried about me?" Edward asked excitedly.
"Pfft, whether you live or die, what does it have to do with me?" Mengdie indifferently shrugged, saying coldly, "I'm just worried that if you barge in like this, everyone will know about our plan to eliminate the bandits. If the large troop doesn't arrive in time and they all escape, will the kingdom still pay me Su La? If you say they will pay, then I'm not worried. If you want to die, go ahead."
Her words pierced Edward's heart like arrows, instantly dissipating his anger and impulsiveness. He collapsed to the ground, deflated like a burst ball.
"Dear, although the result is not bad... the way this little sister speaks... she really doesn't seem like a spy..." Linda whispered into Cisco's ear.

"Hmm... I feel the same. For some reason, I suddenly feel sympathy for the young master..."
The night had completely darkened, with many clouds in the sky, almost obscuring any moonlight. Using the three flames created by Cisco for illumination, the group of four hurriedly moved along the mountain path.
Suddenly!
Mengdie, walking second in line, stopped abruptly, alert. Seeing her stop, the other three immediately halted, looking at her nervously.
"Miss Mengdie, what's wrong?" Maybe because Mengdie had just humiliated Edward, Linda no longer viewed this cute girl with suspicion and even started liking her. Her tone was much more polite.
Mengdie didn't respond. She pricked up her ears, listening attentively to the surroundings, sensing for any discordant presence in the air.
The sky!
Mengdie looked up and saw several unidentifiable small birds fluttering in the pitch-black sky. After searching for a while, she firmly fixed her gaze on a large bird, an eagle, flying from the direction of the kingdom.
"Damn!"
Realizing the situation, Mengdie immediately grabbed Cisco and Linda's hands, pointing at the eagle and shouting, "Quick! Can you shoot down that eagle? Hurry! Fast!!"
Cisco looked at the eagle, shaking his head, "No, it's flying too high. Our long-range magic can't reach it. What's wrong with that eagle?"
In the brief moment of conversation, the eagle had already flown towards the bandits' den. Without time for explanations, Mengdie left a message, "Bring people quickly," and ran after the eagle towards the mountain top. Edward, who had been soulless due to Mengdie's coldness, unsheathed his sword and followed her without a second thought, leaving the two mages behind who couldn't keep up with their pace.
"Mengdie! What... what exactly happened?!"
Edward, being physically stronger than Mengdie, easily caught up to her and asked anxiously.
"I don't know!"
"What? You don't know?!"
"Nonsense! If I knew, I wouldn't be so nervous! For now, let's focus on shooting down that eagle!"
Easier said than done, as both were skilled in close combat. The eagle was soaring high in the sky, out of reach. They had no choice but to keep chasing. Just before reaching a mountain hollow, the eagle suddenly descended, landing on the shoulder of a member of the Black Flame Serpents patrolling outside.
The member immediately walked with the eagle towards the cave. Mengdie and Edward nodded at each other and rushed to the mountain top they had been spying from. Without the help of the water mirror, they could still see inside the cave by enlarging the hole a bit.
Inside, nothing had changed since they left. The girls trembled as they danced, while the giants and bandits drank and whistled. The Black Flame Serpent member entered. Seeing the giant, the eagle automatically fluttered above him.
The giant's relaxed expression turned serious as he saw the eagle. He raised his hand, and the bandits immediately quieted down. The eagle, staring at the giant, fluttered its wings a few times and then transformed into a colorful light, becoming a piece of paper and gently landing in the giant's hand.
"Damn it!"
After reading the paper, the giant roared in anger and tore it apart. His fury struck fear into his subordinates, who all shrank back, silent.
"Those two bastards betrayed us!!! Brothers, our territory has been discovered by the kingdom's army! A thousand-man troop will attack by noon tomorrow! We must retreat tonight!"
