"Nia! What are you doing here? Come in, there's so much delicious food!"
Unexpectedly, the window behind Mengdie opened. Nia, dressed differently than during the day, rushed out and grabbed Mengdie's hand.
"I don't feel like eating. You better stay with your sister and prevent her from being bothered by some random men." Mengdie said with a bitter smile, not turning around.
Nia looked up at Mengdie, perplexed. After a moment of thought, she let go of Mengdie's hand and stood aside. "Sister Mengdie, are you sad about something?"
"No," Mengdie bit her teeth in frustration, "It's not sadness but anger and irritation."
Observing Mengdie, Nia giggled after a while, "If it's not sadness, then let's have fun together! It's awkward for my sister and me to be here alone. I've already told her you're here. If I call you and you don't come, she'll blame me."
Mengdie helplessly shrugged her shoulders, touched Nia's orange-red hair, and ruffled it. "Alright, let's go accompany your sister. And let's see if she can become the future Queen of Silver Moon!"
Mengdie's comment was casual, but a sudden idea flashed in her mind. Before she could dwell on it, Nia pulled her back into the banquet hall.
The melodious music and lively atmosphere continued. Looking around, Mengdie could see Aiya sitting nervously at a table on the edge of the dance floor. She looked even more beautiful than during the day, with makeup, white gold earrings, and a bright pearl necklace. The two maids arranged by Duke in the morning stood behind her, accompanying her closely. Dressed up, Aiya looked less like a slum girl and more like a noble young lady.

"Mengdie, you look prettier today," said Mengdie, removing her gentleman's hat and bowing like the men who approached Aiya. Her gesture would have been correct, if not for her long hair making it seem quite out of place.
"Cursed hair!" Mengdie muttered, trying to stuff her hair back into the hat. Nia, however, snatched the hat and handed her a white hair clip and a ribbon instead.
Mengdie shrugged, took the ribbon, bit it, and used the hair clip to fix her hair, then tied the ribbon around the end of her hair, letting it dangle behind her.
"How do you like your outfit, future Queen of Silver Moon?" Mengdie teased Aiya, who blushed and patted the seat next to her.
"Sit down! I haven't settled the score with you yet! I got tricked into this by you, and you have no idea how terrible my day was!"
"You had a terrible day?" Mengdie said indignantly, sitting down. "At least you're sitting here, eating and drinking without a worry. I had to fight with soldiers, caused a scene, and still didn't achieve my goal."
Aiya was concerned, "Fighting with soldiers? Mengdie, what were you doing? It's dangerous!"
"If I could get it, it'd be worth the risk. But I couldn't. That jerk is going to give my thing to someone else. Some friend he is! I was wrong about him!"
"Your thing was taken by that person you mentioned earlier?"
"Yeah, he said he'd give it to his future bride..."
At that moment, Mengdie's idea struck her again.
Right, why didn't I think of this before? It's a perfect plan! If that guy wants to use my necklace to please his future wife, then why not make Aiya his queen? Once Aiya gets the necklace, she'll surely give it back to me. Plus, Aiya and Nia will escape poverty and rise to prominence. And it'll be a good lesson for Edward's twisted BL heart! Three birds with one stone! He promised in front of so many people to give the necklace to his future wife, so he can't back out now!
Excited by her plan, Mengdie's cheeks flushed again. She stood up and paced around the table, her long hair swaying with her movements.
"I've decided!" Mengdie slammed the table, startling Aiya and Nia. "Aiya, I'll help you get together with that prince tonight. With my help, you'll be the future Queen of Silver Moon!"
Aiya and Nia were clueless about Mengdie's words. They exchanged glances and shook their heads. Mengdie didn't mind and continued planning.
Suddenly, a herald announced, "Silence!" The curtains at the front of the hall parted, revealing a lavishly decorated staircase with a throne-like chair at the top, accompanied by a slightly lower, more feminine chair. Below them was a smaller chair, mimicking the king's, and another resembling the queen's.
The floating orbs of light aligned neatly, and the guests fell silent.
"His Majesty, the 17th of the LancedeMoor dynasty, arrives!"
