Mengdie, full of confidence, was certain that her strike could break the man's arm. However, she hadn't anticipated that as a royal knight, he wouldn’t be easily defeated. The middle-aged man, feeling the pain in his elbow, had his murderous eyes turn blood red in an instant. He let out another shout and slammed his left hand heavily into Mengdie’s abdomen. Without any defensive ability, Mengdie let out a “whoo” sound and was immediately sent flying into the air. A sweet taste in her throat followed by a mouthful of blood being spat out.

"Mengdie!!!"

"Mengdie sister!"

Watching this scene, the two sisters were terrified and called out in unison. Edward, too, seemed distressed, gripping his sword hilt, wishing he could jump down and join the fight.

"Die... enemy... kill!!!"

Mengdie, soaring into the air like a kite with its string cut, reached the apex and started to fall weakly. The middle-aged man let out another staccato roar, pulling the giant axe from the ground and targeting the descending Mengdie with another swing, determined to cut the girl in half!

"Whoo!!!"

The cutting wind, sharp as a blade, swept across Mengdie's face, bringing her fully back to consciousness! She opened her eyes to see the axe coming straight at her and shivered all over, barely managing to turn in the air. The axe blade grazed her waist, drawing another line of blood, but she narrowly avoided the lethal attack!

"Boom!"

Mengdie landed back on the ground, blood gushing from her waist like a fountain. She glanced at the time – less than three minutes left! No time to delay, she needed to end this quickly!

As the dust raised by her landing had yet to settle, Mengdie, like an arrow released from its bow, charged towards the middle-aged man. His attack was a medium-range one, while Mengdie’s was entirely close-range. The farther the distance between them, the more disadvantageous it was for Mengdie. Conversely, the closer the distance, the more advantageous it was for her!

Rapidly closing in on the middle-aged man, Mengdie's fist fiercely aimed at his abdomen. The man quickly extended his right hand to block, but he didn't expect the incoming fist to suddenly loosen at the last moment and turn into a crane’s beak shape, striking up and hitting his chin with the back of her hand.

The chin is one of the most vulnerable parts of the head. Even a normal person would likely faint from such a blow, and even the royal knight staggered backward, his vision blurring. Mengdie didn’t give him time to recover, appearing behind him like a ghost, and as he retreated, she struck his spine with the root of her palm.

A punch to the body creates a hammer-like crushing force. A palm strike to the body, however, brings a spear-like penetrating force! The middle-aged man cried out, involuntarily moving forward. But Mengdie had already repositioned herself in front of him, her palms formed into a ball and slammed into his abdomen!

"Boom——!!!"

In a thunderous explosion, the man coughed out blood from the corner of his mouth and staggered back several steps. But, as expected of a royal knight, even after taking Mengdie's combo, he managed to stabilize himself before falling, holding the giant axe, his eyes blood red, staring at the girl in front of him, letting out a deep growl.

"Phew... strong... I... stronger..."

Mengdie used the brief two seconds to catch her breath and lunged again! The middle-aged man also let out a roar, hoisting the giant axe and charging at her! The distance between the two narrowed, even more, their evaporating sweat creating a mist-like trail behind them! Finally, as the countdown entered the last sixty seconds... Mengdie stepped into his attack range first!

"Storm... Spin!!!"

The middle-aged man bellowed, stomping forward heavily, lifting his axe, and spinning violently! The powerful spinning axe created a storm around him, making him look like a mini tornado!

Mengdie, sensing something was wrong the moment she made contact with the man, quickly raised her fists and struck the surface of the incoming axe with full force! Her body shot up in the nick of time, narrowly escaping the stormy attack! As she fell backward, she landed right above the stake!

"Mengdie!"

"Sister!"

The sisters shouted again! But Mengdie had no time to respond to them. The tornado was rapidly approaching, even the broken stones on the ground being swept up and thrown into the air! Although Mengdie couldn't say the defensive power of the Water Mirror Wall was insufficient, she wasn't sure it could withstand the full-force attack of a fellow royal knight.

"Damn... bring it on!!!"

Without waiting for the tornado to reach her, Mengdie leaped again, jumping right above the eye of the storm! It was the only place not within the range of the axe's attack, and she concentrated all her strength on the tips of her toes, diving into the eye of the storm!

"Bang——!!!"

A loud noise erupted from within the tornado, dispersing the swirling wind. The middle-aged man's axe stopped, his eyes somewhat pale, and the top of his head, where Mengdie had struck forcefully, bled a thin line of blood...

Mengdie, panting heavily, jumped off the top of the man's head. She was confident in her last kick, believing that even a royal knight couldn't possibly withstand such an attack! But she couldn’t relax, the enemy hadn't completely fallen yet. An enemy who hasn't fallen is always a threat!

The middle-aged man, holding the axe, staggered a bit due to dizziness. Facing Mengdie, he raised the axe for another attack but suddenly heard a voice from the throne—

"Attack the two sisters on the stake!"

"Yes! Your Majesty... kill!"

The raised axe suddenly changed direction, sweeping from left to right towards the waists of Aya and Nia! Such a ferocious strike was clearly meant to split the sisters and the stake in half!

"Father King!!!" Edward turned in disbelief, only to see the chief steward whispering in the old king's ear. The king smiled contentedly, a look of great triumph!
