"Swamp Abyss!"
As she shouted, several hand-like objects sprang from the mud, rapidly reaching for Mengdie who was mid-air. Startled, Mengdie twisted in the air, kicking and shattering two of the mud hands like lightning. Using this almost negligible leverage, she sharply dropped her body, landing before reaching the wall's mud swamp.
The giant swordsman, clearly in sync with the female magician, saw Mengdie escape the earth magic. He immediately raised his sword towards Mengdie, who hadn't yet steadied herself. But at that moment, a strange sensation suddenly emerged in Mengdie's mind.
"How strange, definitely strange!"
Mengdie quickly ducked, narrowly evading the deadly sword. As the swordsman failed to retract his sword, she stepped forward, entering her attack range. Her right palm, aimed at the chin of the swordsman who was two heads taller, ruthlessly struck up.
"Bang."
The palm strike was on target, but it didn't produce the loud sound as before. The reason was simple: Mengdie's palm strike was not meant to hit, but rather...
"Fall down!"
Humans naturally lean back when their chins are lifted. A slight sweep at their heels can immediately disrupt their balance. Ironically, lifting a chin doesn’t require much strength.
As the palm struck, Mengdie's right foot silently reached the swordsman's heel. With a push of her palm and a pull of her toe, she perfectly unbalanced the swordsman, causing him to fall backwards.
Duke, watching from the side, showed an appreciative expression, seemingly pleased with Mengdie defeating his subordinate. However, it was no joyous matter for the swordsman to be defeated by a girl shorter than his chest in just a few moves. As he fell, he swung his sword towards Mengdie.

Unable to dodge in time, Mengdie's shoulder was heavily struck by the sword, sending her flying out the window like a cannonball!
"Damn! What a tenacious opponent!"
Ignoring the pain in her shoulder, Mengdie somersaulted in the air, landing safely. But before she could stand straight, a terrifying crack appeared on the wall of the cottage! One, two, three! The brick house, like a soft cake, was sliced with three cracks by a giant sword. Following that, the swordsman's roar came from within...
"Boom——!!!"
The wall shattered like an avalanche, and the swordsman burst out from the dust, charging towards Mengdie in the center of the square. To make matters worse, the magician followed, chanting a spell and emitting a yellowish aura from her black magic circle. After completing her incantation, she slammed the magic circle onto the ground, causing it to crack. These cracks spread across the square, encircling Mengdie and the swordsman with numerous spikes, forming a cage.
"Mengdie, can you escape now?"
Duke said this, having emerged from the room with the cup Mengdie had given him, standing at a distance from the magician and watching everything. Soon, the sisters Aia and Nia, trembling with fear, also emerged, clinging to each other, watching Mengdie and Duke in terror.
Indeed, the scene had stunned the onlookers. For many, it was their first time witnessing real magic. However, it was clear that the city's people intended to harm Mengdie, the goddess of the slums.
"What do you want to do?! Are you city folks here to show off your strength again?!"
"Mengdie! Mengdie!!! Damn witch, let Mengdie go!!!"
"Hey, old man! Stop it now if you don't want to be beaten up! Don't think we're easy to bully!!!"
Duke watched the crowd’s every move with cold eyes. It was evident that these civilians were serious. Some even picked up farm tools and kitchen knives, ready to sacrifice themselves for Mengdie. The situation became chaotic, and even the swordsman and magician were flustered.
"Everyone... stop——!!!"
A melodious voice pierced the noisy sky, echoing in everyone's ears. The angry and uncontrollable crowd quieted down at this command. They looked towards the source of the voice, confusion and bewilderment on their faces...
Mengdie rubbed her shoulder, confirming it wasn't dislocated, and calmly took a step forward, facing the swordsman. Her eyes seemed to hold a profound depth, quietly extending her right hand—
"Come. Let's continue this fight without outside interference. That's what you want, right, Duke?"
Caught off guard by her insight, Duke's eyes flashed with admiration. In that instant, he had seen the girl's composure and courage in the face of danger, as well as her charisma that won people's hearts. This wasn't something that could be achieved merely by being beautiful.
The entire square fell silent, everyone holding their breath, watching Mengdie inside the "Earth Dragon Tooth Formation." She slowly exhaled, picking up a piece of glass from the ground and cutting open her sleeve. She tore the sleeve in half and carefully wrapped it around her fists. After completing this, her eyes shifted to the swordsman in front of her...
Then, her figure vanished.
