"Scum!"

Leaping across several ships and over the burning deck, Mengdie descended from the sky, clutching a canvas rope. Before landing, she kicked out to either side, sending two pirates about to strike an old man flying. The moment she landed, her right fist, covered in a thick layer of water, smashed into the abdomen of another approaching pirate.

"Bang—!!!"

Water splashed as the pirate, his internal organs ruptured from the impact, was sent flying out of the cabin like a broken kite. Her punch drew the attention of the other pirates, who had been rampaging, abducting women, and killing men.

"What a beautiful girl!"

"Come, entertain us!"

Several pirates, salivating and tongue-lashing, swarmed her like wolves eyeing a lamb. Little did they know, they faced a lion in sheep's clothing.

"(In Chinese) Robbery, murder, arson, rape... humanity might forgive, but the Buddha won't!"

With her right fist shimmering with water and her left arm covered in rock, Mengdie's anger and battle-hardened body made short work of the pirates. Before they could get within a meter of her, their faces met her fist, shattering bones and sending them into the water.

But as soon as she dispatched one group, another surged forward. Mengdie exhaled and attacked first, not giving them a chance to board.

"You wench, come serve me!"

One pirate, mistaking her delicate appearance for weakness, committed a fatal error. As he swung his blade to knock her out, Mengdie's left arm transformed into a rocky shield. "Clang!" The blade struck the rock, rebounding and disarming the pirate, sending his sword into the lake.

"Scram—!!!"

Her left fist followed immediately, its rock-hard surface hitting the pirate in the gut, tearing his insides apart. The pirate was sent flying, his blood tracing an arc in the air.

"Everyone, to the southern ships! Prepare to escape!!!"

South meant towards the island, where fewer ships and pirates were. Escape seemed most feasible there.

The battle was fierce. Flames raged on the lake, painting the sky red. Mengdie moved swiftly, striking down bloodied pirates, but her impact was limited. Sensing her threat, the pirates avoided her, continuing their onslaught on the passengers.

"Foul bastards!!!"

Mengdie broke a pirate's leg, covered in spattered blood. Her hair was streaked with the enemy's blood, but her efforts did little to deter the pirates.

"You wench!!!"

A pirate in armor charged at Mengdie with a giant sword. She ducked, his blade missing. As he tried to recover, Mengdie's water-imbued right fist struck his armor, sending a splash of water from his back and creating a vacuum around her. The pirates, however, continued their rampage.

"Damn it!"

Seeing passengers in peril, Mengdie rushed towards the southern ships. But she wasn't fast enough; everyone seemed doomed.

"Whoosh—!"

A magic arrow suddenly shot from the crowd, piercing one pirate's chest and another's head.

"Magic? There's a mage here!!!"

The pirates halted at the sight of offensive magic. However, several of them dropped their swords, joined hands, and started chanting. Soon, various colored lights emerged in their palms.

"Whoosh—!"

Another magic arrow flew out, targeting a leading pirate. A pirate mage extended his hands, and a shield-shaped magical array appeared, enveloping the targeted pirate.

"Magic Nullification Field!"

(Mengdie: This is... divine power!)

The golden light shielded the pirate just in time. The magic arrow disintegrated upon contact. Laughing, the pirate charged towards the source of the arrows. The crowd parted in panic, revealing Xiu, holding his staff.

"Mage? Die!"

Three more shielded pirates charged. Mages need time to gather magic, and Xiu seemed out of time.

But he showed no fear.

"Roar—!!!"

A roar and a flash of black. Then, four bisected pirate bodies fell. Edward, wielding his obsidian sword like a war god, stood before Xiu, his sword dripping blood onto the deck.

"Edward! Xiu!"

Mengdie leaped, kicking a pirate mage in the face, paralyzing him. She landed near her companions and prepared to join the fight.
