Xiu rubbed his nose, his smile still easy and relaxed: "Don't worry. As I said before, this is a total blockade. Fortunately, our ship was the last one allowed to set sail. If those Black Flame Serpent assassins want to catch up, they'd have to swim across the lake. Haha, think about it – it's been six hours since we sailed. How long would it take to swim the distance a sailboat covers in six hours?"
"Moreover, if the people you're looking for really crossed the lake, they must also be immobilized. With the strict military control, it's impossible for them to move around with a bunch of jewels without being stopped. So..."
"So, they must also be settling down somewhere, waiting for the martial law to pass before moving again, right?" Mengdie finished Xiu’s sentence, clearly understanding the situation. Xiu's nodding confirmed her guess.
This meant a delay of a day or two for them. However, the White Shadow and their group also couldn't take advantage of the situation to move. Mengdie thought it through; although the situation hadn't improved, it hadn't worsened either. With everyone stopping, it was somewhat beneficial for her.
She looked at her fists; the magic conduits in the absorbers were gone, meaning she couldn't use the magic fists again. Then she looked at Edward, whose physique couldn't heal as miraculously as hers. He was covered in bruises and wounds, looking like the most injured among them.
"Alright, we'll continue to wait. I need to repair these gauntlets. Xiu, is there a place to buy magic conduit shards on this island?"
Xiu snapped his fingers, leading the way by jumping onto another boat's deck, waving cheerfully: "Come on! This island has everything you could need, Mengdie Miss won't be disappointed!"

Under Xiu's guidance, the group stepped onto the dock. The island was indeed small, about half the size of Garulu Town, but it was bustling with energy, more crowded and lively than Garulu. The streets, extending from the dock to the center of the island, were filled with taverns and shops. Sailors and merchants jostled each other on the busy streets.
"Wow, who would have thought there'd be so many people here?" Mengdie, her face hidden under a cloak, marveled at the crowd.
Xiu laughed, waving his staff: "Both Luville and Silver Moon people are stranded here, unable to leave. This situation will probably last for two or three days, until the Third Princess completely returns home."
Mengdie nodded, "I didn’t expect our delay would allow Shasara to catch up."
Edward, who had been silently listening to Mengdie and Xiu's conversation, seemed awkward trying to join in. But when he heard the name "Shasara," he suddenly paused and asked, "Mengdie, who is Shasara?"
Mengdie turned sharply, staring incredulously at Edward. She couldn’t believe that the future King of Silver Moon didn’t even know the name of his betrothed fiancée.
"Edward, don’t tell me you’re serious? Shasara Luville! She's your betrothed from that selection ball! You don’t even know her name???"
Edward’s face reddened with embarrassment. He stepped aside, ashamed: "I... really don’t know... I only knew she was the Third Princess of the Luville Empire... I don’t know anything else about her..."
Xiu tapped Mengdie's shoulder with his staff, asking, "Miss Mengdie, how do you know the Third Princess? Is she as gentle and quiet as the rumors suggest?"
Mengdie tilted her head, recalling her battle with Shasara. While Shasara indeed possessed gentleness and quietness, Mengdie was more impressed by her powerful wind magic that nearly cost her life.
"She's tough," Mengdie said, crossing her arms reflectively. "So far, she's the only opponent I've used all my strength against and still not gained an upper hand. In our last battle, she nearly took my life."
This revelation left Xiu and Nia surprised, while Edward appeared panicked. He rushed over, gripping Mengdie's shoulders anxiously: "She almost took your life?! Is the Third Princess such a terrifying and violent woman?! Damn, my father wants me to marry someone like her? Won't the future of Silver Moon be ruined?!"
Mengdie quickly clarified, "Don’t get me wrong, she’s really a kind and quiet girl. I just meant she’s a strong fighter. Being strong and having a violent temperament are completely different things."
"But you said she almost killed you!"
"Yes, and I almost killed her too. But don’t worry, after that battle, we probably became friends. She complied with my request to leave during the execution that day. Hehe, it's true – friendship is forged through fists."
Edward and Xiu exchanged bewildered glances, unable to understand how two girls who almost killed each other in battle could become friends afterward.
