Chapter 58 Wolf Communion
Lucia saw the wolf jump back to its group and quickly returned her loose thread of consciousness. When it returned, Lucia began to speculate about the limitations in her mind. 'So the thread will be noticed by the heightened senses of a beast. It would likewise be unable to escape the notice of individuals more powerful than me. However, this should not be a problem as I do not require information from anyone that powerful yet.' As she finished her thought. she heard the wolf speak once again. "Monster! What are you planning?" Lucia pondered over the question and then innocently responded to the wolf, "I was only trying to enter your mind to learn your language."
The wolf only seemed able to grasp parts of what Lucia said, but it tried its best to understand. After pausing for a moment, the wolf curtly responded. " "I understand," as it advanced toward the witch's hat. When it reached a few feet from Lucia, she outstretched her consciousness in a thread, reaching the wolf before her. After a few moments, she acquired the wolf's language and knowledge. Lucia was now equipped with the language of the wolves of that region and began to speak to them fluently, this time through the jagged maw of the witch hat. "Hello, group of wolves. Is the one in front of me your leader?" The inexperience of speaking using the witch hat caused Lucia's words to be quite loud, allowing all the wolves far away to hear her.
Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.
Some birds far away were startled by the sudden loud noise and flew off into the sky, with only the rustling of wings interrupting the silence. "Indeed, I am their leader," said the wolf in front of Lucia. Lucia heard a pleasant voice, different from the gravely one she had heard earlier. Confused, she disregarded the wolf leader's affirmation and slowly spoke, growling through her maw, "Your voice is completely different from when you were using the human language." And after hearing the difference in her voice, she added. "And my voice sounds different as well."
The wolf leader interrupted Lucia to give a brief explanation of the difference. "The way wolves communicate is unlike human language. Since you have spent time in my mind, understanding our language through my memories, you may have intuitively grasped the intricacies of wolf communication. It could explain why you perceive your speech as unfamiliar."
