Chapter 105 Accepting the Task

With the Ancestor indicating the reward would relate to the clan's long-held goal of reclaiming the ancient wisdom that had been lost to time, Dahdin realized he had no choice but to agree. He understood the stakes involved and what he potentially stood to gain.

"I have decided on my decision. I will accept." As Dahdin announced these words, the Ancestor smiled and approached him. He then outstretched his paw and placed it on Dahdin's forehead. Once he had firmly pressed his paw against Dahdin, he declared, "Once this pup has defeated the parasite within him and returned to his plane, my power shall be bestowed upon him, along with the knowledge that he and his clan desire."

Once he finished his proclamation, the beam of light in the center of the room brightened. The room flashed, and the beam gradually shrank until it was the size of a small ball. It then began to float toward Dahdin, illuminating the previously shaded areas as it moved closer. As the orb approached, the Ancestor stepped aside, allowing it to be absorbed by Dahdin.

Dahdin felt a new power rise within him, then was tamped down and locked away. Despite this, he could still sense some of the power slipping free from its cage, flowing throughout his body and enhancing his abilities. He checked his magic to see if he could cast any spells. He felt satisfied when he successfully tested his wind and earth-type magic. However, when he attempted to use his nature magic, he realized he couldn't, as there were no natural elements in the space around him to manipulate.

After feeling satisfied with his use of magic, he looked around and realized that the Ancestor was no longer with him, and the once-bright space had dimmed.

'I suppose this task won't be as easy as I thought. However, using magic will still increase my chances,' he reflected.

Dahdin roamed the area again, searching for the parasite but finding nothing. Undeterred, he dug deeper, tirelessly excavating the ground in his quest. After digging numerous holes and thoroughly examining each area, Dahdin came across a much larger cloud of mist than the one he had encountered before. 'I finally found the parasite he was talking about,' he thought.

He lowered his body deeper into the hole and began formulating a plan. Eventually, he started circulating magic around himself to enhance his abilities with his elemental powers and strode forward, ready to confront the parasite.
