Chapter 47 Leaving the Ruin
As the witch's hat hopped to the door to leave, it reminded Aleshia of their earlier conversation. "When you believe you have enough control over the body, you can leave the ruin. Until then, work on strengthening your control. Avoid losing control if something unexpected happens, leaving you unable to move." With these last words, the hat finally shuts the door, leaving Aleshia to continue working on gathering control over the body.
Aleshia laid back down on the table and resumed her training. Several months passed in the blink of an eye, and Aleshia could finally operate the body as if it were her own. However, she still couldn't move anything above her shoulders, leaving her face expressionless. She considered various ways to hide her face, but with most of the clothes in the ruins either rotted or torn, she couldn't think of a way to conceal her expressionless face while still inside the ruins. Aleshia had explored more of the ruin during the months she was there and found many areas that Kailey hadn't seen. She discovered fields for crops, farming buildings, and an armory holding many rusted weapons. These were only some of the structures she had found.

Aleshia and the witch hat stood at the entrance of the ruin. The witch hat was beside Aleshia, who was covering her eyes with her arm as the bright light momentarily blinded her, having been in a dimly lit room for the past few months. Aleshia took a breath of fresh air, feeling like a new person as she exited the ruin. However, as she moved forward, the hat slammed into an invisible wall. It let out a mumble of complaint before coming up with an idea, and a moment later, it dispiritedly expressed its thoughts.
"It seems that I can't leave the entrance of this ruin no matter how many times I try. I even made a Words of Possession pact, but I am still unable to leave, even though I am so near the holder." As frustration built up in the hat's mind, a new plan came to mind. "Aleshia, what if I link up with you? If I sync up with you, I might be able to leave this ruin along with you. How about it?" Aleshia gladly accepted the hat's offer, allowing it to sit on her head. She didn't want to be alone in this new world she was about to enter, and she also believed that wearing the hat would somehow conceal her.
