The Return of Aleshia

Chapter 32 The Return of Aleshia

While Aleshia was creating constructs within Kailey's soul space, the witch hat, watching Kailey's condition, became shocked at how quickly the soul formed. It was greatly worried because if its guess was correct, the soul might accidentally overtake the other soul and erase its will. The witch hat feared that the girl she was caring for might never be able to recover. With this fear, the witch hat quickly exited the chamber. It went to an area Kailey hadn't seen before, where it stored its completed prototype golem body. The witch hat had this body in its closet just in case it found a way to exit the ruin.

It had been an hour since the witch hat had left for the room with the vessel. Unexpectedly, when it returned to Kailey's room, it found half of Kailey's soul and another soul intertwined, creating a black-and-white symbol. Astonished by the sight, the witch hat stumbled and dropped its load of golem parts. It witnessed two shapeless souls locked in a fierce struggle for control. Although it didn't seem like a fight to the death to the witch hat, it looked more like two children squabbling over who gets to play the hero.

After reaching this conclusion, the witch hat witnessed the end of the dispute between the two souls. The scuffle ceased, leaving the two souls separated from each other. As the two souls caught their breath, the space between them filled with sparkles, resembling a portal manifested between them, visible only to the witch hat. To the eyes, or vision of the witch hat, the two souls were encased in a membrane-like barrier.

When the two souls finally caught their breath, they both rose from their sprawled state and lunged at each other, giving the impression that they were about to fight again. However, this didn't happen. It seemed through the fight, they both had come to an understanding.

"Hey, are you the girl from the class you disrupted?" one of the souls fiercely shouted.

"Huh, what class... Oh! Is that you, Aleshia?" shouted the other soul with slight uncertainty.

"So it is you. How come I am in this dreary place? Where is this anyway?" Aleshia said, concerned.

"No clue about the first question, but I do know a bit about where we are," the other soul muttered.

The powerful aura silently emanating from the witch's hat startled the two souls. They turned their attention to the witch hat. One of the souls recognized it and rushed towards it, followed by the other soul. However, as they were about to reach the witch hat, they were stopped by a membranous wall. The slower soul burst into laughter as they watched the faster one rebound from the wall.
