Examining the Orb

Chapter 90 Examining the Orb

It took Aleshia a moment to think, and she responded, "I believe I can create another orb, but it might be difficult because there isn't as much residual energy available for it to draw from, as it combines your power and my elements."

Lucia was puzzled and did not understand how Aleshia could have obtained her mana. She asked, "How did you get my power? I don't remember giving it to you." As she finished her sentence, she remembered that they were connected through Kailey's body and contract and realized the answer herself. However, Aleshia responded with a completely different solution.

"I siphoned the unused energy from the rivers of light to power the orb." After she concluded that, she began demonstrating her words. Aleshia repeated the entire process, creating another orb. This time, Lucia eagerly observed her. However, it took longer because Aleshia couldn't find as many unused pockets of energy as the previous time she made it since Lucia was using the mana to its full extent.

As Aleshia focused on creating another orb, Lucia examined the one she had already made. "This orb's power still hasn't faded?" Lucia muttered. She turned the orb around in the air, inspecting it from every angle. Once she had memorized every detail, she finally began experimenting with it. She infused some of her mana into it, and it started to glow brighter, creating an audible sound of wind swirling within. Lucia paused to consider what else she could do to interact with the orb.

Lucia attempted to manipulate the mana within the orb, sensing the energy flowing through it as an extension of her hat body. As Lucia manipulated the mana, she heard a clicking sound from the orb. Lucia took her eyes off the orb and quickly realized it began absorbing the surrounding mana. Concerned about the potential consequences, Lucia promptly attempted to reverse what she had done. After waggling the mana back and forth, the orb clicked, indicating its deactivation.

Lucia sighed in relief but noticed that the surrounding mana had changed slightly. After investigating the orb, she concluded that it had indeed absorbed some of the surrounding mana. Lucia had a brilliant idea but couldn't act it out because Aleshia was still creating the other orb. She understood creating the orb was a delicate process and didn't want to risk the orb blowing up or backfiring on Aleshia, so she waited until Aleshia finished making the orb.
