Chapter 11 Suspicion
As Kailey looked up from the scroll, she could feel the teacher's eyes staring at her. Trying to figure out why they were in this mess. Feeling uncomfortable with the intense stare from the teacher, she suddenly spoke, attempting to break the tension, "Is there something on my face?"
The teacher responded to Kailey's attempt at conversation, "No, there's nothing on your face. It's this contract. It looks similar to a Words of Power contract, but this contract is something that I have never seen or heard of before; it's baffling. There is no conceivable way to separate a piece of a person's soul without severely damaging the soul. The soul operates many things we don't understand. But with a piece of it missing, it could leave an irrecoverable tear, leaving the vessel or body unable to operate."
While Kailey was processing the teacher's explanation about the soul, the teacher continued with her speech. "It would be like losing the ability to feel or operate parts of a limb or having to move with shattered bones across different parts of the body, feeling the never-ending pain every time you breathe. The only possible way to perform this contract without leaving a massive hole in the soul. Would be if the person forming the contract had a cursed knowledge on how to extract souls, which is highly unlikely."

After hearing those startling words, Kailey wanted to question the distinction between the Words of Power and the Words of Possession contracts. However, without a proper understanding of these contracts, no one could give Kailey an answer. But surprisingly, information popped into her head at that moment in time.
The Words of Power contract and the Words of Possession contract are two distinct types of contracts. The former allows the bestowed to wield the power granted by a contracted demon, religious faith, or demi-deity. The other contract is a forbidden contract that is barely known and barely used by anyone alive. Because it has unintentionally been wiped from any historical records by greedy magicians coveting the knowledge and waging war on each other for shreds of information
In the present times, it is practically impossible to come across items that bear Words of Possession. They are often mistaken for other classifications, such as a hero's sword or a national treasure. These items are infused with Words of Possession unconsciously by the most skilled blacksmiths, who have attained godlike proficiency in their craft. These blacksmiths pour their hearts and souls into the creation of these objects and speak of the dreams, knowledge, and power they wish to bestow upon them. As a result, they unintentionally wield Words of Possession through their unwavering dedication.
