Chapter 109 Awakening
The parasite struggled fiercely, shifting between a mist form and a physical shape, trying to squirm from Dahdin's hold. However, it was futile, as Dahdin's primal instincts had firmly anchored his mana to control the parasite, holding it tightly in place.
While the parasite struggled to escape Dahdin's grasp, it suddenly acclimated to its situation and underwent a subtle evolution, transforming its substance into an opaque, gelatinous liquid that resembled slime.
Dahdin could sense the shift in the parasite and panicked. Instinctively, he channeled his mana more forcefully, amplifying its strength significantly. The sudden surging mana briefly halted the transformation by disintegrating much of the parasite's mass, considerably reducing its size. However, this action did not stop its transformation.
As Dahdin realized he couldn't stop the transformation, he made mental preparations. The parasite's new body was finally complete. It quickly wriggled free from Dahdin's grasp and hastily dashed away. Dahdin hadn't expected it to escape so suddenly, but he immediately gave chase. Dahdin pursued the parasite-like prey, and just as he was about to catch it, the slime-like parasite squished into itself and sprang back at him.
The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
Dahdin couldn't dodge in time, so he kept running. As the parasite neared his maw, he burst forth his mana from his mouth like breathing out fire. The outer layer of its slime dissolved but retained most of its mass. It landed on Dahdin's head and clung to him, lashing out with painful mental and physical attacks.
As it clung to Dahdin's head, it violently attempted to submerge him in its slime, trying to suffocate him. It also seemed to be attempting to penetrate his mind.
Fearing what the parasite was doing, Dahdin increased his mana output, breaking through his limits, and suddenly felt electrifying shocks coursing through his body. Believing this newfound energy held significance, he pushed through the pain and continued to expand, incorporating this new power into his mana. As the shocks intensified, Dahdin finally unleashed his attack, seemingly fueled by the electrifying power he was unconsciously encountering. In what felt like a dream, he suddenly found himself back where he had been before he was in the dark space.
When Dahdin awoke, his mind was in a daze, unable to discern left from right. 'Where is that parasite? Did it defeat me?' he thought, his mind in shambles. Suddenly, some words escaped him, though he hadn't consciously uttered them. Just then, a slight movement caught his eye. Mistaking it for the parasite, he instinctively lunged forward with his claws. Before acting on that instinct, a sense of dominance washed over him, warning him of the danger. At that moment, the haze clouding his mind began to recede.
