Chapter 18 Soul Energy
The glowing particles entered Kailey and seemed to merge with her. At first, she felt panicked and tried to dodge them. However, because she had not used her body for a while, she couldn't avoid the particles and subsequently lost her footing, falling onto the muddy ground. Regaining her composure, she sat still and felt a sensation of reinvigoration as she noticed the particles entering her. She thought that these particles might be some form of soul energy.
As she pondered this, the remaining particles all disappeared into her. Suddenly, a new string of thoughts sprung up in her mind. It was like someone was talking in quiet, fragmented voices that weren't recognizable. The thoughts were similar to her own but divergent as if she was thinking two times at once!
Recalling that she had read about a situation similar to her own in one of the few ancient scripts she found during her travels to ancient ruins, she dug through her memories only to find a tale that depicted old stories of children who were descendants of proud warriors and heroes. They were said to have memories or thoughts that were not their own. As they grew up, the children who turned into men were known as having an older mentality, but they were said to have the latent talent of past heroes.

After recollecting what she had read in the ancient tome, she tried one of the vague techniques used to disentangle the jumbled-up thoughts of the people in the story. Kailey began suppressing her thoughts through meditation, which allowed her to calm her mind. Although she didn't believe it would help her understand the situation, she acknowledged that if there was peace in her mind, she might be able to think of a way to hear the thoughts of the second mind.
After taking a few minutes to calm her mind, Kailey opened her eyes. She still couldn't completely comprehend the thoughts swirling in her mind. Realizing that her approach wasn't working, Kailey gave up on the idea and patiently waited for the realm to break apart. As she waited, she surveyed the once beautiful scenery, now desecrated by the shockwaves. As her eyes started to lose focus, she blinked.
Kailey found herself in a stone room, sprawled on a bed. Upon standing up, Kailey noticed she was wearing the typical dress of a town girl. Looking around the room, she found herself in a dimly lit chamber.
