Edge of the Barrier

Chapter 94 Edge of the Barrier

Aleshia quickly got up after her fall and examined her foot, confused about why she had tripped. She couldn't think of anything that would have caused it until she remembered the earlier blow to her foot. "I suppose I'll need to consider things like this in future situations," Aleshia thought.

Aleshia got back on track and rushed toward the battlefield. Moments later, she arrived at the edge of the barrier. In front of her lay a barren expanse marked by dead grass and parched soil. A constant struggle played out between the mist and the sigils. At first, the fog surged forward, but soon, Its numbers dwindled as the mist's forces were to be devoured by the orb. The battlefield was chaotic, with neither side able to secure a clear victory because of the orb. Energies clashed, scattered throughout the now barren land.

Aleshia looked around, determined to find a way to improve Dahdin's chances of survival. After piecing together a plan, she realized how she could help him. However, she hesitated to cross the barrier that protected her from the invisible force on the other side of the barrier. The grass on the other side was wilted, representing the orb's power and the battle raging for Dahdin.

Aleshia prepared herself by closing her eyes and visualizing her plan, steeling herself for the inevitable dangers ahead. When she opened her eyes again, she acted on her plan and cautiously approached the river's edge. As she crossed the line, she felt an immediate impact on her senses, nearly collapsing under the sudden change in pressure from the various powers surrounding her. Though she struggled to move forward, she found her resolve, letting her body adjust to the new pressure before attempting to walk again.

"Right, I forgot to do that," she said to herself. With that remark, Aleshia applied support magic to herself. The pressure on Aleshia eased significantly when she activated her support magic, rendering it almost negligible. However, she could still sense the power swirling around, attempting to push her down.

Aleshia cautiously approached Dahdin's body, carefully following behind the sigils as a precaution against potential threats. She did this because she was unsure of the mist's power and wanted to avoid experiencing its effects. "So far, so good; nothing has happened to me other than needing to adjust to the environment," she murmured, hoping Lucia could hear her.
