Chapter 59 Subordinate To Me?
Lucia pondered the wolf leader's words and muttered, "I suppose that does seem to make the most sense." With that small question cleared up, Lucia asked the wolf leader why they had come to meet her. The wolf leader nodded and responded, "There was a lone wolf from my pack who died some time ago, and near his corpse, we traced human tracks back to this spot. We want to know if you know where the human who killed my kin is." The group behind him drooped their heads in grief, affirming the leader's words.
Lucia heard the wolf and felt pity about what had happened, but she didn't know where the human was. Then Lucia remembered something: she was traveling with a human. Lucia didn't want the wolves to mistake Aleshia for the human that killed one of their pack members when she returned, so she told a small lie: "I do believe there were humans here a while ago, but I have not seen one recently. I only just came to this area. I do have another companion with me, though. The companion appears human but is truly a ghoul, an undead creature attached to a human corpse."

The wolf leader listened to the hat, carefully considering its words. 'The strange hat is mysterious when it comes to its companion. It might suggest it knows something about our fallen. But it could also be anxious that we would attack it and its so-called companion. But if the hat already knows of our number and unconsciously gives off such an aura, I wonder how powerful of an aura the companion gives off.' The wolf thought if they became subordinate to these powerful entities, it and its pack might reach a higher plane of existence and evolve.
The wolf leader declared its intent. "Is that so? You do not know where the human is. If that is the case, we have nothing else to discuss related to this topic. Since we're all here, will you allow us to become your subordinates? As a leader, I want my wolf clan to prosper and grow even stronger. I believe that with your strength, we can evolve." Lucia was stunned by the sudden proposal and wondered, 'Why does this wolf want to subordinate to me? What power do I have that a beast doesn't already possess?' With a hint of hesitation, Lucia asked, "Why would you wish to subordinate to me?"
