Chapter 36 Merging Two Souls
Aleshia quickly left the vessel that had contained her and returned to the room as a soul with the same appearance as before. She promptly explained her situation to the witch hat: "I feel like my soul can't sustain itself without being connected to another power source. I believe that Kailey has the same feeling we may need each other to power both of our souls." Upon hearing this, the witch hat responded to Aleshia while making a contemplative expression, scrunching up the folds of the witch hat.
"Hmm, I think I understand. The soul was originally one, but now that a piece has broken off to form a new person, it won't be able to function normally. Without one to connect the other, it will remain incomplete, causing failure for both souls." Coming to an understanding, the witch hat considered merging the two souls back into one body. However, it needed approval from Kailey to proceed with the idea.

Kailey had been off to the side, staring blankly into space while listening to the conversation. With everyone's attention now drawn to her, she snapped out of her daze, responding with affirmation, agreeing to their idea of housing Aleshia within her.
Aleshia approached Kailey and entered the body with the witch hat's help. Kailey felt a rumbling sensation overcome her surrounding her stomach, causing her to blush in embarrassment. It dawned on her that she hadn't eaten for what she could only presume to be a few days now. Realizing this, Kailey was about to ask the witch hat if it had any food stored somewhere. However, her words suddenly cut off as the jumble of thoughts she had pushed to the back of her mind came rushing back with great force, causing damage to Kailey's psyche. Amidst the echoing thoughts in her head, she could discern, 'I feel reinvigorated.'
Kailey was slowly recovering from her damaged psyche. However, as she was healing her mind, she lost her footing. Her body moved, and she caught herself at the last moment as if someone else was controlling her from another place. After regaining her balance, Kailey could hear another voice inside her head growing clearer and louder, from little whispers to an invasive noise. "Whoops, we don't want to fall and sprain an ankle." The sentence pervaded her mind as her body continued moving on its own, returning to the table where she had been lying during her ordeal.
