Chapter 106 Battling the Parasite
Upon noticing his presence, the parasite swarmed and congealed, forming a grotesque creature. Its mass was assembled from countless monsters, with limbs and extremities flailing in all directions. Dark, misty tendrils squirmed from its body as it hovered a few inches above the ground.
Dahdin was appalled by the sight, but instead of retreating as he once had before, he continued moving forward unswayed by the hideous form. He gathered his magic within himself, preparing for the parasite to launch an attack on him.
Noticing that its form did not intimidate Dahdin or make him cower in fear, the parasite returned to its mist-like shape. It then transformed into a physical form it believed would be more effective for battle. The parasite took the form of a human, its form obscured by its mist. As the fog was subsumed into its body, four arms were apparent on its body instead of the expected two. The human-like creature then conjured rudimentary weapons from its surrounding mist established on its knowledge of human weapons. However, instead of taking on a solid form, the weapons it created were blob-like and amorphous.

This prompted Dahdin to create his own weapons; however, unlike the parasite, which formed misshapen and blobby figures, he crafted weapons with solid shapes.
Once the weapons Dahdin created had hardened and solidified, he floated them to rest behind his back for easy access. In contrast, the mist had several oddly shaped weapons protruding from its mist-shrouded limbs, extending across its arms down to its hands.
Dahdin could only view it as a crude attempt to replicate humans, lacking any fundamental understanding of what they were and how they wielded their weapons. 'Perhaps this parasite does not possess enough intelligence or has never encountered a human before; maybe it only learned about them from other parasites,' he thought briefly before shaking it off and focusing instead on the battle ahead.
The parasite conjured a misty, oddly shaped armor for itself and charged forward, screeching in a mind-numbing noise as if trying to replicate a war cry. Dahdin staggered for a moment but quickly floated one of his weapons to his side and hurled it forward at tremendous speed. The shot was a test, and as he suspected, the spear he threw pierced straight through the parasite.
However, it was lodged into the parasite instead of passing straight through. As if to mock him, the parasite then enshrouded the spear he made into itself. As it was absorbed, the various malformed weapons protruding from its form began to refine, transforming from malformed lumps of mist into more solidified objects.
