Chapter 56 The Dangerous Entity
A low growl came from the pack leader, alerting the others to the enormous amount of power that seemed to be emanating from a being just below the slope. They all lowered their heads in compliance, notifying the leader of their consent, then followed into a crouch. Following the leader's command, four groups moved away from the main pack, with five wolves in each group. The wolves skulked in different directions, each encircling the creature from far away while staying cautious not to be detected. While the other packs were relocating, the leader pondered how to confront this mysterious but dangerous entity. Despite all its preparations, the wolf did not know if it could convey its wish for peace and knowledge of the human.
After splitting apart from the primary group, the four groups took their positions and waited for orders. The leaders of each group reported to the pack leader that they had moved into position. Armed with this new knowledge, the leader of the group ventured forward. The wolves started down the slope, and when two of their number saw the hat. Their first reaction was to mock it, but they faltered as they approached, sensing the menacing aura flowing from the strange hat. When the leader realized the hat had noticed them, the wolf released a harmless bark to express its intent. "We have found you through your presence. This wolf wishes to seek your knowledge of any humans that have come through here as it has slain one of our kin."

The hat turned to face the wolves in front of it, it spoke into their minds. The wolves heard an odd noise. The wolves were unable to comprehend what had been spoken. The strange buzzing in their heads startled the wolves, making their fur stand on end. Nonetheless, the group's leader managed to understand a few of the words that the hat pronounced, even though they were in the human tongue.
As the leader wolf had grown, it had seen its fair share of humans in its lifetime living in and around the forest and had learned a few things. It struggled to produce complex human speech; nevertheless, The leader made every effort to communicate with the entity before them. It tried to speak human but spoke in a broken tongue, with a growling tone that contrasted with its earlier soft barking. "Warning, wolf. We pack like wolves. Ask for your permission of knowledge of the human who slay our kind."
