When Shadow reached the top of the steps, he was stopped by Howl. He sighed.

"What?" He exclaimed.

Howl gave him a stern look. "Come on, you promised us you wouldn't act this way, you even TOLD us to call you out when it happens!"

Shadow sighed, he decided to change....for the better. He looked down at his friend and carried on.

Howl caught up to him, then they walked together. He looked up at him. "Thanks."

Shadow looked down at him and nodded. He smiled a little bit. "Yeah."

Howl tilted his head. "Are you okay? You don't seem too good."

Shadow did forget he just got frozen over recently. He did his best to ignore it, he looked back down at Howl as he walked. "Scratch could be in danger, and you leave his side..."

Howl shook his head. "Don't be too upset about that, he told me himself that if things got bad, then I can go find you."

"Oh, shit!" Shadow exclaimed and looked down at his friend once more. "I'm sorry."

Howl scoffed. "You gotta let me speak if you want an answer, Shadow."

Shadow put a hand on the back of his neck. "Yeah..."

All of a sudden, the door to the King's chamber busted open, with Azazel pushing Max to the ground, and pinning him there. He looked up and noticed the other two were present. Howl looked in shock at what Matthew has become. Shadow grew even more frozen, but this time...it was from horror at what was done to him. Howl was slowly beginning to back away. Shadow stopped him. "It's alright, Howl." He did his best to comfort the wolf, but the blond wolf only looked up at him with a blank expression on his face. Shadow felt sympathy for him. He really wished he wasn't rude to him two seconds ago.
