As much as he despised Shadow, he had to admit....he felt major sympathy for him.

Max, Zack and Rose whispered to each other about the situation.

"If you guys are wondering what he was talking about about, I'll tell you." He found himself say.

Everyone looked at Mica.

The red eyed wolf sighed. "He had a friend who was the omega of the pack. One day, he was caught bad mouthing Scarlett, she threw him into a prison cell. There, Shadow was forced to guard the cell; but eventually, they became best friends....One day, they attempted to escape, but they got caught instantly. Shadow tried to tell her that he was at fault, but she didn't listen. She made him kill his own friend. He's been an asshole to everyone ever since."

Rose gasped, her hand over her mouth.

"That's AWFUL!" Max exclaimed.

"What was the threat if he didn't obey her orders?" Zack asked him curiously.

"It was either his friend....or...." Mica then turned his gaze to Rose. "Her..."

Rose went white with surprise. She then looked down at her little brother and brushed his hair. "Oh, Gabe!"

Max looked down at Shadow as well. "What's he dreaming about?'

Rose smiled. "It's happy memories. In the past, he would have really had nightmares....I use the songs to kill him to sleep. Seems like I still got it......after these past few years..."

Mica then turned his gaze to the battered up body caused by the black wolf. "What do we do with the body?" Max too looked at the corpse. "Bury it." He said, turning to Zack. "Ready?" Zack nodded. The two Shifters left, and Mica walked up to Rose. He looked at Shadow again.

"So what you told us...." Rose then says. "That's why he's aggressive towards them?" She asked him.

"There's a lot of story that you don't know, but.......the root of the problem? Yes, that's what caused his behavior to take a turn. Also, Beta's the one that coached him.

She was then infuriated. "Why? Why would she teach him this way?"

Mica sighs. "She wanted to protect him......like I said, there's a lot more to this story that you don't know."

Rose then calmed down and looked down at Shadow. She kissed him on the forehead.

"Believe me, the things he says or does, he doesn't really mean. At least, not to you." Mica then added.

Rose fought so hard not to cry, but she wasn't strong enough to hold them back. "You should've met him when he was younger......" She sniffled.

Mica nodded his head as the boys came back. He then walked back over to his original spot and slept the rest of the night.

"Tomorrow....." Max said. "We'll try again to find Matthew, I'm not leaving until he's home." He announced.

Zack then looked up at him from his resting spot. "We need to wait for Shadow to get better."

Max nodded. "Alright."

Mica chuckled to himself. When is he EVER better?
