Evelynne bounced with excitement as she looked at Ebony with wonder. "So, what color are you going to coat it?"
Ebony smiled. "Black as night! But, before I can begin with this - "
Evelynne interrupted. "I can bring you the finest diamonds I've stole from a crippled man with a broken leg. He mentioned he needed the diamonds for an expensive surgery on his leg, but he'll be fine!"
Ebony chuckled. "No, honey I actually have something better....you remember my yearly ceremonies to honor my gods?"
Evelynne nodded.
Ebony continued. "For this year's ritual, I want to do a more......traditional way to please the Mother Goddess of Darkness...."

Evelynne laughed with excitement. "What animal are we sacrificing THIS time?"
Ebony laughed as well. "No, no the Goddess wants something...better...."
Valerian chuckled and whispered to Evelynne. "She means a child." She then gazed at the black witch. "How much are we taking, and who are we taking it from?"
Ebony bit her bottom lip. "Someone the Mother Goddess can care for in her life. Someone who's the black sheep of the family. No friends, no one to love. That sort of thing. Mother Goddess LOVES to care for children and seek blood spilling vengeance on anyone who hurts the child."
Valerian held up her chin. "I see."
Evelynne looked at the both of them. "Do you have any idea who?"
Valerian then held back her head with a force and gasped.
Evelynne looked at her not with worry, but with interest. "What is it?"
When Valerian came to, she said, "The Preacher's Son."
