Chapter 22: The Crone Witch

Chapter 22: The Crone Witch

The Crone was dressed in a faded green cloak to match her once blue dress. She wandered the streets with her cane. She planned her trip to meet the one she saw in her vision, a girl dressed like a pirate, complete with a brown hood to match her color.

The Crone had visions of the crystal the girl wore round her neck. Yes, yes, she was going to pay her a visit today.

She traveled through the streets of the lively, bustling town nearest the castle. She walked on until she found the girl outside of her home sitting on a stool, flipping the hilt of her knife. Right next to her, a large timberwolf with brown eyes lay. The Crone smiled, ignoring the long gray hair that was tickling her face.

When the Crone arrived, the girl looked up at her and sneered. She seemed to be a person who didn't like the elderly much. "What business do you have here?" The girl said. The timberwolf shot his head up at her and bared his teeth and growled.

If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

As irritated as the Crone was at this response, she forced the feelings down and expressed a nearly toothless smile. "Oh, yes, I wanted to know if you have any.....gems lying around somewhere?"

The girl frowned in pity. "Sorry, but my father's out of town today, if your interested in ores or gems, you have to wait for him to come back."

"Well, is there a way you can help ME then?" The Crone politely asked.

"No can do.....I hardly assist him." The girl said simply.

The Crone eyed the pouch that slung from the girl's belt. She then saw a small shimmer of purple inside.

"Is...there a way that I can trade you for that gem that's in your pouch?"

Mica growled and the girl sighed. She then stood up, pinching her nose as she faced the witch. "Listen, Granny, I won't be remorseful if I have to kick you to leave me alone, if you want to avoid that...go back where you came from and - !"

Suddenly, the Crone changed her form. Her wrinkles were quickly fading, her hunchback disappearing, her gray hair lightening and her teeth grew back. Even her faded clothes became more colorful. She changed herself into a beautiful woman the same age as fifteen years old girl. The young witch then threw her cane and held her hands together in front of her in a polite manner.
