Chapter 35: Mica (part 3)

A couple of days had passed since their mission. Evelynne and Mica got prepared to go to the Thief's Meeting.

When they made it to their destination, Evelynne jumped when the door was open for her, on the other side of the door stood Hunter. He had a look of deep concern in his eyes. Evelynne tilted her head. "What's wrong?"

"MALAKAI - isn't here!" Hunter's voice became stern. Evelynne scoffed. "You think I had something to do with his absence? Jeez, Hunter...you're a good leader....but why are you assuming I do this kind of shit to my club members?"

Hunter folded his arms, his eyes grew stern. "Remember the last member you killed?"

Evelynne held a finger at him. "First of all, mate....I killed Griz because he nearly ratted us out, I HAD to slit his throat. Second, Malakai hasn't betrayed me.....yet. He's probably sick, or he's taken into that widow's funeral which he doesn't care about! He likes to see people in deep emotional pain....he's fine!"

Hunter sighed. "Okay, Eden...I believe you, but there IS something going on, I don't knows how to explain it.....but something's not right. Maybe we should go check."

Evelynne shook her head. "No need for that...he's probably at that funeral!"

Hunter nodded. "I thought so too, until someone reported to me that he wasn't seen over there!"

Evelynne gasped. "Oh shit! Yeah, I'll go look for him."

..........................................

After a while of searching for her friend, Evelynne decided to take a break and go home.

Once she walked in, she decided to go count the jewels she's collected this time. Funny that every time she comes home with gold or silver, her father would be proud, because in HIS mind, she was mining. This assumption amused her.

Her thoughts were interrupted when she heard someone knock on the door. She sighed loudly in irritation, then got up to answer it...and there stood a customer, who smiled at her. "Hello, is the store open today?"

"Usually...." She answered through her teeth.

"Oh wonderful! How much would it be for - "

"My father's not here!" Evelynne bickered.

"Oh, well I thought I heard from your father, that when he's gone....you watch the store for him." He said with confusion.

"That's what HE thinks......but that's not the case......" Evelynne was growing annoyed with this. The customer grew red faced and walked off.

Good riddance!

She went back to collecting gems and gold coins. Until suddenly, she heard another knock on the door.

She growled and stomped over to the door. "WHAT DID I SAY?" She yelled. But when she opened the door, there stood a dark haired boy. "Malakai!" The boy that stood before her didn't seem too good though, his light tan face lost it's color....making him look pale as a vampire! Evelynne gasped at this. "What the hell happened to you? Are you sick?" Malakai only shook his head, she can notice that as he moved, he twitched. "No - no - no.....all good!" He said positively.

Evelynne only stared at him with eyes widened. "Then.......why are you......here?"

Malakai wheezed. "I wanted to show you something!" He said, his lip twitching this time. "Come!"

She took his hand and walked with him. They walked for a while until they got to his place. Inside, he showed her something he had on the desk. Sitting by itself on the middle of the desk, was the crystal she gave him. Malakai looked at her excitedly.

"I wanted to show you this!" He giggled. She peered down and noticed that the glowing purple it once was, had a new addition to it. There formed streaks of black that spread throughout the crystal, inside out. She looked at him with confusion. "What did you do? HOW did you do it?"

"Well, uh, I accidentally cut myself with it!" Malakai said simply.

Evelynne nodded. "Well, it IS yours after all......you can do what you want with it."

"Yeah!" He whispered with a hoarse voice to her.

Evelynne grinned. "That's pretty cool! Hey, uh, I forgot to ask if you're coming to the meeting? We were wondering if you were going to show up!"

"Oh, yeah, um I j - just wanted to study this first....this is fascinating!" Malakai smiled. "I'll swing by later!"

Evelynne nodded, shook hands with his twitching arm and left him. "I'll see you later, mate!"

Malakai then said. "Aye!"

She then looked down at her wolf. "Let's go, Mica."
