Chapter LI

Somewhere, West Virginia, USA.

Urga groaned as she stretched. She turned in her sleep to cuddle with Morty, only to find him gone. She cracked open a eye and found her sister next to her instead.

Where did he go, she thought sleepily. Then she remembered. He was asking them about before coming to this world, then he called her a genius, then he kissed her! She smiled at that memory!

She struggled to remember what happened as she sat up. Her sister finally awaking herself with a deep yawn.

"Where is Master?"

"I don't know." Urga confessed to her sleepy sister.

"What do you mean you don't know?! You talked to him last!" Her sister snapped as the idea of Morty running around without them to keep him from getting himself hurt or worse made her worried.

"So did you!" Urga snapped back.

"I was sleeping! You were talking to him!"

The two sisters grumbled and growled at one another. Then they huffed and broke apart.

"We better find him before he gets hurt."

"Again."

"Yeah, again."

So the two sisters got dressed, which meant that they put some strips of cloth to protect their sensitive bits. Most of their skin was thick and tough enough that they didn't need much protection from anything natural. It couldn't even be pierced from average blades! It took some quality metal to penetrate an ogre's skin!

Which was handy when they were practically babysitting Morty! Already they've had to step in a few times before his smart mouth got him hurt. The day they saw Morty leave the mine, alone, and come back bloody and beaten was when the sisters promised that he needed their watch and protection.

They didn't mind though, they were happy to travel around and see their new home with him. What they did mind was that it seemed like everyone he ran into wanted him dead! It was a constant worry that nagged them when he was out of sight from either sister.

Like now.

"Where do you wanna start?" Orga asked.

"Let's start in his office. Then work from there!" Her sister declared.

The two sisters lumbered over to his office just a few doors down from their room. But a quick look reveled that he wasn't there.

"What now?"

"Now, we split up. I'll take outside you take inside?" Orga asked.

Her sister gave a nod and the two split up to find their wayward Master. Urga searched through the kitchen and dining area, where he is usually drinking, before making her way to check through the rest of the mansion.

Orga marched outside and towards a gardener goblin, who looked to be making the hedges look like some kind of donkey or seal. But given the blood stains on his clippers and uniform she had to guess that his position was "recently acquired" and probably didn't know where Morty went.

Urga stormed into the Red Cap officer hall. While the Red Caps had higher willpower than the goblins that didn't mean much when a 9ft, 600lb ogre demanded something of them!

"Where's Master?!"

The hall just shook their heads, either in fear of the ogress or unsure what she was asking. She marched up to one of the Red Caps and picked him up easily by his head.

"He isn't here! One of you knows where he went! Now tell me!"

She began to squeeze the head of the Red Cap when no answer was forthcoming fast enough for her patience! The Red Cap sputtered out a quick answer.

"Boss left!"

"Left where?!" She demanded and continued to squeeze.

"Boss took sum boyz 'nd da 'Eadman 'nd left! Don't know where!" The Red Cap squealed as the pressure mounted. She let him go however, it was enough. He wasn't in the home. While it should be enough he has the Red Caps with him that did little to ease her worry. Morty needed THEM to properly protect him! The Red Caps can't do that!

So she grumbled and wandered to find her sister with the bad news!

She found her outback about ready to strangle one of the goblins as her own patience was running thin.

"He's gone!"

"Where?!" Her sister asked worried.

"Don't know, he took some of the Red Caps and left. But didn't say where!"

Orga groaned in frustration and left the poor goblin she was about ready to turn into paste.

"So where do we start?"

Her sister thought for a moment. Trying to think of where he could've gone. The only place she could think of was the human's home from the other day.

"We'll try that human's home!"

Her sister nodded and followed as they left the manor to no doubt save their master once more!

They ran to Sam's house. Their strong legs making the journey rather trivial. They would be glad to carry Morty and travel this way, but it seemed like to them that Morty didn't want to trouble them. It wasn't, but they weren't going to protest not walking or running.

As they got to Sam's house though they found no sign of Morty or the Red Caps. They grumbled and looked around, trying to see if there might be anything that might say otherwise.

But there was nothing they could see. They did remember that he wanted to see a friend up the hill from this one! Maybe they went there, they thought as they jogged up to the other human's home. But as they neared it was clear that he wasn't up here either. No Morty, no Red Caps.

They could smell something in the air though. The smell of kobold, the same smell as the ones from the tunnel! But they also smelled something else. Something that they didn't like. The sisters shook their heads and turned away from the strange home. Their master wasn't there and they didn't want anything to do with the kobolds and whatever it was that lived there with them!

But then that just left them confused and out of ideas! There wasn't much anywhere else that Morty would go! Even with the Red Caps with him! They thought of the mine, but quickly dismissed that idea. It was the last place he would go to. Especially without them!

They slowly made their way back to the mansion. While they wanted to search for Morty in town, it was large for them. They never seen the human cities before their enslavement to the orc. Even after, they were out in the wilds for most of that time.

Life was simple before then. Herd goats and sheep in the mountains. Eat the occasional adventurer that was woefully unprepared to take on a clan of ogres! Sometimes traders going through the mountains would offer them food or weapons and armor as payment to escort them safely. Sometimes eating them when they were done.

That was life for the sisters. Then the orc arrived. He marched into the clanhouse and demanded the ogre clan swear fealty to him! The clan laughed at the orc though! Why would they give up their freedom and swear service to a lone orc? But he wasn't alone. By then he had already taken over the goblins. While he had the ogre clan leaders gathered in one place the goblins attacked the rest of their clan!

The sisters were guarding the outside of the clanhouse when the fighting started. Dealing with goblins was easy. But when there were just SO MANY it became like trying to push back water in a lake! Eventually the sisters and a few others were surrounded. But before they were executed the orc emerged from the clanhouse, severed heads of their clan leaders in tow!

He demanded fealty as he tossed the bloody heads towards the survivors. The remaining handful charged the orc in rage, and quickly met their end at the hands of a storm of arrows and the swift and brutal edge of the orc's axe. The two sisters were too wounded and week to fight. So he spared them and enslaved them. With that came the next couple years of their servitude. It was miserable. The orc worked them constantly. Throwing the goblins to drown whatever problem he had in a sea of green flesh before using the sisters strength to finish off whatever was left.

Then they took shelter in a cave system during a terrible storm. One of the nearby cities had rallied a small army to deal with them. While the orc master could march to meet them, they had just gotten done on a raid and were weak in numbers. With the storm he, begrudgingly, decided to take shelter and wait.

That's how they arrived in this world. Well, some of them. The portal that they entered when they stumbled upon it had closed not long after they went through! Most of the goblins had been left behind while they, the orc, and the goblins they had was stuck on this world!

Which still left them with many goblins still, but it was but a fraction of the vast swarm the orc had before. They weren't in the cave long before they heard noises. Noises that sounded like mining!

The orc sent some goblins to check out the noise, but to not attack whatever it was. He didn't know who, or what was down here and didn't want to face an attack so soon from an enemy he didn't know about. After a bit the goblin scouts came back with reports of humans!

The orc was worried at that. He was worried that the humans from before had somehow followed them here! But from the description the scouts gave it seemed like they were different than the ones that chased them. But the orc was still being cautious. He ordered them to be spied on but nothing more.

Then Morty came along. He came snooping around the tunnel that now led to their hideout. It was obvious from the cursing and swearing that he didn't know that they were there. The scouts, seeing him alone, decided to capture him! Orga was with them when they captured Morty. He was cute when he was scared!

Then the rest was history. The orc almost killed him, then he killed the orc, he offered them freedom, and offered the sisters a new home. The battle over the mine. Their fear and worry as they saw him bloody and beaten worse than he was against the orc! The loss of his family, his rage and sadness. The time since as they just enjoyed being around someone that seemed to care about them!

They trudged into the courtyard of the mansion, the memories filling the time of their silent journey as they had little they wished to speak about while Morty was off who-knows-where. Then they lost him! A few hours and he up and vanishes! They paused as they saw his car in the garage! He was back! The sisters rushed towards the door, almost knocking aside the two door guards in their hurry. They entered just as Morty was getting done talking to the Headman.

"-he places we just went to got it?" Morty finished ordering.

"Yes Boss!"

"Good! Now where did the siHURGH!!!" Morty was interrupted as Urga picked up Morty and hugged him.

"Master where did you go?!"

"What did you do?! Did something happen?!" Orga asked along with her sister as they played 20+ questions while Morty struggled to breathe in the meaty, though loving, arms of the ogres.

Finally realizing he couldn't talk, nor breathe, Urga put him down where he finally got a breath.

"Jesus! We were gone for like 3 hours! What's the matter with you two?!"

"We were worried about you!" Orga said as it was her turn to pick up and hug Morty. Though less tightly so he could breathe and talk.

"I can take care of myself you know! I've been doing it for over 20 years! Besides! You two were sleeping so I thought you could get some rest, and I could take some Red Caps with me!" Morty protested.

"Never again!"

"What?"

"Never again are you to leave without one of us with you!" The sisters ordered.

"But-"

"NEVER!"

Morty groaned as he realized he had no choice. He couldn't argue with them, physically or otherwise.

"Fine... So what did you two do while I was gone?"

"We went looking for you Master!" Urga stated.

"I gathered that much already. But nothing else?"

Orga thought for a moment.

"We ran to that human's house to see if you were there!"

Morty's eyes went wide.

"What human?"

"The human that was teaching us to play cards!"

Morty sighed in relief, at least they didn't go to Je-

"Then we went up the hill to the other human, the one you said was your friend!"

Oh no, Morty thought.

"What happened?!"

"Nothing. We didn't see you so we left."

"So the three of you didn't interact with one another?"

They shook their heads.

"It smelled weird so we left. When we didn't know where else to find you we came home. And here you are!"

The sisters cheered as they hugged Morty together. Which was a weird feeling for him. Though not a unwelcome one. It was nice having someone care about him and miss him!
