Chapter 40: New Start.
(Streya’s POV.*)
I have been married to Reina for a little over eighteen years now. No. Unlike last time, I am not messing with you. My luck paid off, and Reina was the one who ended up pregnant. Which is something that I tease her about to this very day.
As for our daughter, we named her Mary. Our daughter was the oddest thing… She was not only the spitting image of Reina, she even had her personality… Not that we mind, as we still thought that she was cute either way.
Mary: “So this was your apartment, mom?” She asked.
Streya: “Yes. Did you know? Just on the road outside is where I met Reina.” I reply with a reminiscing tone.
Mary: “Really? You know, you two never told me how you met.” She said with a curious tone.
Streya: “That so? I was sure that you would have asked our friends, or your aunt and grandmas.” I say with a head tilt.
Mary: “I did ask! They just always refused to tell me.” She said with a pout.
Currently, I was helping Mary move into my old apartment. She will be attending the best vampire college in the world. Which just so happens to be next to Briar Academy. You don’t understand how happy I was to learn that my plan to buy this apartment for my child actually ended up working out. It was a plan eighteen years in the making, after all.
Streya: “Ah, they truly know me so well.” I say with a happy smile.
Mary: “Whys that? Is there a reason why they all kept it a secret?” She asked.
Streya: “Yes. Now, come sit down, and I’ll tell you how I met Reina.” I say before taking a seat on the nearby couch.
Mary: “Okay, I’m waiting with bated breath.” She said with a laugh.
Streya: “You know your aunt Sina really likes antique cars, right?” I ask.
Mary: “Yeah, she has driven me around in them a few times.” She replied with a nod.
Streya: “Well, we met due to her love of antique cars.” I reply.
Mary: “Oh, so you bonded together over them?” She asked.
Great! I have her right where I want her! This is a joke that I have been waiting to tell her for eighteen years! Now I will finally get to tell her it… I am so nervous right now… The delivery has to be perfect!
Streya: “One day, while Sina was a young reckless person, she drove recklessly at high speeds.” I say with a serious tone.
Mary: “How does that relate to how you and mom met?” She asked with a head tilt.
Streya: “Because your dear aunt Sina hit me with her car, which is how I ended up meeting Reina.” I reply with a laugh.
Mary: “…Can you please tell me how you really met?” She asked with a sigh.
Unauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings.
Streya: “I am not joking! I was even paid off by the Violet family.” I say with a pout.
Fuck… I messed up the joke! She didn’t even laugh… My life is over… No, wait… I can just do the same joke with our next daughter! I know what Reina and I will be doing when I get back home… Heh.
Mary: “I’m going to call and ask mom, if you’re lying, I will be upset.” She said with a serious tone.
Since Reina and I didn’t work at all, she quickly picked up our daughter’s call. She confirmed that Sina did in fact hit me with a car, and even that I was critically injured. Oddly, Reina even had the surveillance footage of the accident on hand, to which she showed to our daughter.
Once the call ended, Mary was lost in thought. I was worried for a moment, but then she broke down in laughter. Fuck yeah! The joke eventually landed! I guess I don’t need to have a second daughter after all… I still want to have sex with Reina when I get back home, though.
Mary: “I can’t believe that you got together with the sister of the woman that almost killed you.” She said with a laugh.
Streya: “Hey, you can’t blame me. It was love at first sight. Hey, want to know something else funny?” I ask.
Mary: “What? Oh, no… By funny, you mean at either my, or someone else’s expense…” She said with a nervous tone.
Streya: “Has Reina taught you about the honeymoon phase for vampires?” I ask.
Mary: “She mentioned it, but she told me that you would explain it to me one day. As such, I didn’t bother to research it either.” She answered.
Damn… The people in my life surely know me way too well. Well, I have been teasing and joking with them for a long time, so it makes sense that they got my habits down by now. Though, it is expected of Reina to help set up jokes for me. Reina eventually started to like teasing and joking with people as well. Which means that I can say that I corrupted my own wife…
Streya: “Basically, after your first time with your wife, you will end up like a needy little girl, who fawns over her affection. And you will only snap out of it when she says that she loves you.” I explain.
Once again, my dear daughter thought that I was joking, so she laughed. The moment she realized that I didn’t laugh along with her was when she got worried. Mary quickly went to research the honeymoon phase online on her PC. With each word she read, she got more and more spooked. Heh… Mary’s reactions are just as good as Reina’s. What fun!
Mary: “Um… Mom? It says that how long the honeymoon phase lasts is genetic… How long did it last for Reina?” She asked with a nervous tone.
Streya: “For Guri, it lasted ten years.” I avoid her question, just so that I could see more of her reactions.
Mary: “And how long for Reina?” She asked once again.
Streya: “Guess?” I reply with an innocent head tilt.
Mary: “A year?” She replied.
Streya: “Nope.” I deny.
Mary: “Three years?” She asked.
Streya: “Wrong.” I deny again.
Mary: “Ni…Nine years?” She asked with an extremely nervous tone.
Streya: “Nope, wrong again.” I reply.
Mary: “…How long then?” She asked with desperate tone.
Streya: “Just a little under a month.” I answer.
Mary: “…”
Once again, my daughter realizes that I have strung her along. Yeah, that’s right! Have your face show different reactions every few seconds. You will eventually land on the right one! Ah, she decided to laugh. How cute. Mary’s wife will be very lucky. Mary is a decent mix between Reina and I. In that sense, a very good package deal!
Mary: “Mom, I think that I will miss your jokes.” She said with a giggle.
Streya: “Will you? Don’t worry, I will make sure to call you every day to ensure that you hear at least one of my jokes.” I reply with a confident tone.
Mary: “No, wait… Don’t!” She pleaded.
Streya: “Too late! My mind is made up! Now then, dear daughter of mine, when will you bring your wife home so that we could tease her?” I ask.
Mary: “I am not married?” She replied with a confused head tilt.
Streya: “That sounds like a personal problem?” I reply.
Mary: “…”
Like that, I teased Mary for the rest of the day. By the end of the day, Mary had just about enough of my antics, and she practically begged Reina to take me back home. I couldn’t help it, I wouldn’t see my loving, and very teasable daughter as much anymore.
It is my right as a mother to tease her once last time before leaving Mary on her own. Before leaving, I gave her a warm hug, and I vowed to tease her future wife to the same extend as I do to her. In that sense, she will need to find a wife that could keep up with my antics. Which is far easier said than done. Ah, I just can’t wait to tease her future wife!
