Chapter 31: First and Hopefully Last Blood.
(*Streya’s POV.*)
Reina couldn't save me, which is a shame, but that doesn't mean that I am going to give up. As Angelina got her mouth close to my neck, I attacked her with my knife. Specifically, I directly stabbed it into her heart. She was shocked, but quickly realized what had happened to her.
Angelina: “Ah, so you had a knife as well? You were right, I should have taken your weapons away. I was only aware of your handgun…” She said before falling to the ground.
Streya: “Yeah, that was a major mistake on your part.” I reply.
Angelina: “Oh? It was silver as well? Then I will be dying soon...” She said with a defeated tone and expression.
Streya: “I'd say so, yes.” I said with a sigh.
Angelina: “Would you grant your attempted murderer a final request?” She asked with a shaky tone.
Streya: “It would depend on the request, Angeline.” I reply.
Angelina: “Could you perhaps give me a drop of your blood? I am sure that tasting your blood will give me a pleasant trip into the afterlife.” She asked.
Streya: “Just a drop, Angelina.” I reply with a sigh, before biting a small cut into one of my fingers, which bled.
Angelina: “Thank you… Did you know? Heaven and Hell are real. I am surely going to Hell. But at the very least, if you ever die, you would end up in heaven, I am sure of it.” She said with a smile.
I let my blood drip into Angelina’s open mouth for a while. Slowly, Angelina seemed to drift off into death. Ten minutes later, I checked her pulse. The butcher was dead, and I was now a murderer… With a sigh, I took my knife out of Angelina’s chest. With shaky hands, I used her dress to clean off the blade before putting it back into its sheath.
Leaving Angelina’s body on the ground, I went over to the captured girls, and started to help them get out of their restraints. As you would expect, they were all very confused. Before I could explain what had happened, Reina kicked down the door to this cellar. How the hell did she even find me?…
Reina: “Streya!? Are you okay!?” She asked with an extremely concerned tone.
Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.
Streya: “I am fine, but our captor isn’t.” I reply after giving her a kiss on her cute lips.
Reina looked at Angelina’s body. She quickly realized that I had killed her. Stupidly, I thought that Reina would hate me for this, but she didn’t. Reina just gave me a big hug. To which I responded by crying into her chest. After that, I don’t remember much of what happened. I think that I saw Ciri show up with a whole Swat Team…
The next thing that I knew, I was in bed with Reina. For a week, all I did was cry almost the entire day, with Reina comforting me. Yes, Angelina wanted me dead, but I am not a killer. Killing her will haunt me for the rest of my life, even though she was a horrible person.
Reina: “I know that this isn’t what you want to hear, Streya. But I am very proud of you.” She said with a warm tone while rubbing my head.
Streya: “Proud that I killed someone?” I reply.
Reina: “No. Proud that you protected not only yourself, but those five other women.” She replied.
Streya: “But…If I had just stalled for more time, you would have showed up. Then I wouldn’t have had to kill her…” I say with a sad tone.
Reina: “Just know, Streya, if she was still alive by the time I reached you, I would have killed her then and there. Besides, the death you gave her was far easier than the death she would have received on the day of her execution.” She said with a serious tone.
Streya: “Really?” I ask with an unsure tone.
Reina: “Yes. It wouldn’t just be an execution, but a message. For vampires, execution is carried out by injecting Holy Water into our veins. It would feel as if someone spread acid throughout our entire body. It is also the most painful way known for a vampire to die.” She explained.
Streya: “I see… But I am still upset about killing her.” I reply with a pout.
Reina: “That is fine, dear. You know, when I realized that someone had kidnapped you, it felt as if my world was ending…” She said with a sad tone.
Streya: “Sorry…” I say with a remorseful tone.
Reina: “It isn’t your fault, Streya. Besides, I should have showed up sooner to protect you. It angers me greatly that you had to bloody your hands, while I was still trying to find you.” She said with a sigh.
Streya: “Come to think of it, I don’t recall asking how you ended up finding me…” I say with a thinking pose.
Reina: “…I prefer to not answer that question…” She said while not being able to look me in the eyes.
Streya: “Why not? Is it an interesting reason?” I ask with a curious tone.
Reina: “It is, but I refuse to answer…” She denied.
Streya: “That’s okay. I will just ask Ciri instead.” I reply with a shrug.
Reina: “Wait!… I’ll answer your question, just don’t freak out or laugh at me.” She said with a hurried tone.
Streya: “I would never do such a thing to my loving wife.” I reply with a confident tone.
Reina: “Okay… I found you by the smell of your blood… Like a dog…” She answered with an embarrassed tone and expression on her face.
Streya: “That’s it!? I thought that you sold your soul to some God or Goddess with how you refused to answer me.” I reply with a sigh.
Reina: “I am surprised that you aren’t weirded out by it… Though, do know that I would easily give up my soul to save you. If I need to.” She said with a serious tone.
Streya: “As would I, dear.” I say before giving her a hug and a kiss.
Ciri and Miki wanted to postpone their wedding, due to what happened to me. But I convinced them to go ahead with it. I really needed something happy to look forward. Not just as a way to cope, but also so I wouldn’t feel bad about getting in the way of their happiness.
