Chapter 10: It Went Well!
(*Streya’s POV.*)
It was very hard for me to follow Jean’s lessons. That was until she realized that I had no idea how the Knowledge Stimulants worked.
Rather than just knowing whatever information that specific stimulant is made for, you have to look up an understanding of it within your brain. It won’t just come out by default.
So, rather than just continue with the lesson, she taught me the best way to use Knowledge Stimulants. Which only took thirty minutes. Once I figured it out, the rest of the lesson went amazingly well.
Frankly, I found it quite odd at how much more intelligent I was at the end of the session. Jean said that to fully understand math, I need at least four more sessions of it.
How many sessions a given subject needs, is dependent on the subject. Some only require a short number of lessons, and others require more. Not to mention, it also depends on the person actually learning.
In just an eight hour session, I was able to learn up to number theory. Which sounds extremely weird. I basically went through a 4-8 year college course on math, in less than a day. The future is pretty crazy…
I really wanted to learn more, but Jean said that by law, you’re required to wait at least fifteen hours between Knowledge Stimulant sessions. If you don’t, there might be some complications.
Though, the main reason you must wait, is because of the side effects. Yeah, even in a world as advanced as this, there are side effects to their drugs and medicine.
The side effects vary greatly between people and vampires. Dissociation is the most common side effect. Suicidal thoughts is another one. As I, or rather, the girl that used to inhabit this body, had suicidal thoughts and attempts before, they were even more careful with me.
How careful? Jean is required by law to walk me home, and stay with me for at least a day. Just to make sure that I don’t hurt or off myself.
Once we made it back to my apartment, we just sat down on my couch. Frankly, I still haven’t really familiarized myself with this place just yet. Jean said that we couldn’t talk for at least ten minutes, while she monitors my vitals and mental state.
In the meantime, I was just browsing the internet. After the ten minutes were up, there was a notification on my PC that told me someone was at the gate. It was another body of Jean’s. Why does she need a second body here?
Jean: “This body is one that I mainly use for my girlfriend. But I was in a hurry to meet you, and this one was the closest to your classroom.” She explained, as she let in her other body.

Streya: “Is your girlfriend a student of yours?” I ask with a curious tone.
Jean: “She is. And don’t worry, it’s completely legal for me to date her, and she is 25 years old.” She replied.
Now it was just me, and the Jean who was actually dressed up like a teacher. The other body already left. No wonder she was so sexily dressed up at Briar. Her main goal with that body is to seduce and tease her girlfriend.
Streya: “How long have you known her?” I ask.
Jean: “A little over eight months. And we have been dating for two months.” She answered.
Streya: “You’re very nice, so I am sure that your girlfriend is lucky to have you.” I say with a smile.
Jean: “I mean, I think that she loves me. But lately, she has seemed somewhat depressed.” She said with a sigh.
Streya: “Have you asked her why?” I ask.
Jean: “I tried to, but she brushed it off. If you’re wondering, she started acting like this after I suggested that we get married.” She explained.
Streya: “Hmm… Maybe she is upset that she won’t live as long as you?” I propose.
Jean: “Maybe? But with modern medicine, even humans can live practically forever. And won’t age either.” She said with a thinking pose.
Streya: “Wait, really? Then why do vampires make their mates immortal?” I ask with a raised eyebrow.
Jean: “Think of it like magic. Sure, you can live forever without being immortal, but you can still die in some way or another. If you’re immortal, that won’t matter, as you will just come back to life.” She answered.
Streya: “Is it really that much of a difference?” I ask.
Jean: “Streya, with me being your teacher, I have gained access to a lot of secret information. Such as the race name of vampires. In more simple terms, if you get crushed by an extremely heavy object, not even modern medicine can save you. But being immortal can.” She repeated.
Streya: “I understand. Basically, it’s like you have infinite lives in a game, right?” I say with a joking tone.
Jean: “Basically? Now, technically speaking, I should watch you longer, but I feel like it would be safe to leave you by now. Would that be fine?” She proposed.
Streya: “Yes, I don’t feel like self-harm, or suicidal. Frankly, I feel perfectly fine. Go flirt with your girlfriend already.” I say with a giggle.
Jean: “Hm… That does sound like a good idea. I’ll do just that! Have a good night, Streya.” She said with a smile, before walking out of my apartment.
I got up to help her leave, but she had already left. I guess that the shock thing doesn’t work if you come from the inside? Cool feature, I guess. Wait! But I had to use my ID to get out of my apartment… How did she enter, and then leave?
Sin: “As your teacher, she has temporary access to your apartment, as long as you’re awake and present within it.” She explained.
Streya: “Why are you so good at guessing what I am worrying about?” I ask with a curious tone.
Sin: “I run hundreds of thousands of simulations, to come up with a decent idea of your thoughts. Of course, I use the data received from your emotions, hormones, and other things.” She explained.
Streya: “Huh… that somehow makes me feel less creeped out about it.” I say with a small sigh.
Thinking about it, despite me being able to stay awake far longer than normal, I was still quite tired. With that, I planned to just go to bed.
As I began to walk upstairs, I heard a loud shriek. What the hell? I was super curious, so I walked over to my door. Maybe some stupid kid decided to try to jump my fence?
Before I could reach the door, it was opened up. Not bashed open, but someone opened it, since I didn’t lock the door. What greeted me, was a super fucking scary woman, who I am sure was a vampire…
She doesn’t look sane at all, and she was almost crispy from climbing over my fence. Before I could think about why this happened, the woman lounged at me with great speed…
