Chapter 36: Back Home.
(*Streya’s POV.*)
Ciri was freaking the fuck out, but I was calm. Luckily, our PC’s still worked, even in a different world. Looking up the date, it was 2022, and I was sure that this was my original world. Why the fuck? This really had to happen so soon before our wedding?…
Ciri: “Streya… I am so sorry for dragging you into this…” She said with a remorseful tone.
Streya: “It’s fine, we just have to get back home. Hey, look at your PC. I think that this is my original world.” I reply.
Ciri: “It’s the year 2022!? Oh, no… Streya, don’t worry, I will protect you!” She said with a confident tone.
Streya: “Huh? Why?” I ask with a head tilt.
Ciri: “Aren’t the vampires crazy in this world? As long as I say that you’re my slave, they shouldn’t make any trouble.” She replied.
Streya: “…”
Oh, shit… My lies are finally catching up to me, huh?… Well, it’s not like they asked me if vampires actually exist in my world, I just told them my knowledge of vampires. It just so happens that the knowledge was mostly correct.
Streya: “Vampires don’t exist in this world, Ciri. They only exist in fiction.” I reply with a laugh.
Ciri: “You lied to the government this entire time!?” She exclaimed.
Streya: “Hey, you and them never asked if vampires were real in my world.” I reply with a shrug.
Ciri: “Oh my Goddess… I just looked it up, they aren’t fucking real…” She said with a shocked tone.
Streya: “See? Now then, we just have to find a way back to our dimension.” I reply with a serious tone.
Ciri: “We should start by finding the research team.” She suggested.
Streya: “At the very least, they won’t be in this dimension.” I deny.
Ciri: “Why wouldn’t they be?” She asked with a head tilt.
Streya: “Your soul and body are somewhat linked, which is why my blood sent us to my original dimension. As for the research team, they probably got sent to a random location back in our dimension.” I explain.
Ciri: “I hope that is the case…” She said with an unsure tone.

Streya: “That magical circle was probably just something to send you to different dimensions. Probably…” I say with a thinking pose.
Ciri: “I think that you’re right… I just hope that we can actually find a way back home…” She said with a sigh.
Streya: “Me too, now we should get out of this place.” I suggest.
Currently, we were in a deep forest. Not! We were in the wooded section of a park. It only took us a few minutes of walking to get back on the path. We have two problems, one, we don’t know how to get back, and two, we’re completely broke…
Ciri: “Before searching for a way back, we should find a place to stay.” She proposed.
Streya: “This is America, and no country uses Credits.” I reply with a sigh.
Ciri: “Hm? Ah, we can convert it to whatever currency we want. It took a while for digital Credits to be the main currency, so it is a left over feature that isn’t used.” She explained.
Stupidly, all we had to do was open up a bank account through a mobile banking app, and then we could access our funds. The PC even made fake identities for us, with birth certificates, and social security numbers as well. This is a major level of fraud, so hopefully we leave this dimension before we’re arrested…
As Ciri was out of her element, I had to be the one in the lead. I hired a driver to take us to a nice hotel, and he quickly showed up. Ciri was surprised to see a man, but kept her cool. The drive was crazy long, as we were in the middle of a city…
*Hours Later.*
Eventually, we ended up at the hotel. It was a five-star hotel that even served high quality food. I checked us in, and paid for a month long stay. The receptionist thought that we were a married couple, and she wished us a happy marriage… Once in the room, we both let out groans.
Ciri: “I feel like I’ve gone back to the stone ages…” She said with a sigh.
Streya: “How do you think I feel? I grew up in a world like this. Coming back here is like being thrown out of heaven, and landing in Hell.” I say with a sigh of my own.
Ciri: “Well, we just have to find a way back home… Thankfully, the internet at least exists. Surely, there will be some kind of magic that we could use, right?” She suggested.
Streya: “Magic doesn’t exist either, Ciri.” I reply with a deadpan tone and expression.
Ciri: “What the fuck!? This dimension is crazy boring, Streya… How do the people here not go insane?” She asked with a thinking pose.
Streya: “Oh? People go crazy here all the time. I died in a bank heist, remember? Just look at the death and crime rates, I am sure that you will get a laugh out of them.” I suggest with smile.
Ciri looked up on her PC what I suggested, and rather than laugh, she looked shocked and appalled. After researching for ten minutes, she got up from the couch, and gave me a tight hug. Girl… We’re both married women!…
Ciri: “I am sorry that I not only took you back to this dimension, but also that you had to live in it.” She said with a sad tone while rubbing my head.
Streya: “Huh? It isn’t that bad, Ciri.” I reply with a confused tone.
Ciri: “Streya, in our dimension, it is unheard of for a crime to happen more than once every five years. In fact, that car accident that you were involved in was the only crime committed in six years. Of course, not counting the kidnapping that you experienced.” She explained with a sigh.
Streya: “Right… I forgot how safe of a dimension ours is.” I reply with a sad tone.
Ciri: “It’s okay, Streya. I am a vampire, and you’re an enhanced human. We can easily get through this!” She said with a confident tone and smile.
With that, I taught Ciri how to order food in this world, and then we started researching potential ways to get back home to our dimension. As magic doesn’t exist here, it will be a major uphill battle… But we still have to try to get back. I do NOT want to live in this kind of world again, after all…
