Chapter 2: A Maid?
(*Streya’s POV.*)
When I woke up, I was a little groggy, so I couldn’t see the maid before my bed. But once I finally fully woke up, I was spooked by her…
The maid looked to be quite beautiful, around her twenties, with scarlet red hair. Her breasts were also pretty big too… How did she even get in here, anyway? Ah, there is now a door on one of the walls of this cell, how nice…
Red-Haired Maid: “Odd… Just a day before, you were like a doll.” She said while examining me.
At this point, I was just standing in this cell, while this cute maid touched me everywhere. Well, she didn’t do it in a sexual way, and halfway through, she opened up a holographic menu thingy. Which seemingly scanned me for a few minutes.
Red-Haired Maid: “Do you recall your name?” She asked.
My name? Well, I do not know the name of the original owner of this body, but my name is Streya. I guess that I should just go with that name, huh?
Streya: “My name is Streya.” I answer.
Red-Haired Maid: “Streya? That isn’t your name…” She said with a thinking pose.
Oh shit… did I mess up by telling her my real name? Eh, not like I could even figure out what this girl’s actual name is. I didn’t see any clues to indicate her name in this cell at all.
Red-Haired Maid: “A split personality, perhaps?” She proposed.
Streya: “Maybe? But I only remember waking up yesterday in this body. And, though it might make me sound insane, this is my second life. And all of this technology isn’t something that I am used to…” I say with a serious tone.
Red-Haired Maid: “Second life? What year do you think it is?” She asked.
Streya: “Year? Well, before I died, the year was 2017.” I reply.
Red-Haired Maid: “Streya, the current year is 2056.” She said with a sigh.
What the fuck!? Well, I guess that would explain how advanced this place is. But that still doesn’t answer my question if this is a new dimension, or just in the future. Why does the future even still have maids anyway? Ah, because maid outfits are cute.
Red-Haired Maid: “Hmm… We need to keep you here for further examination.” She said with a sigh.
I wanted to ask her more questions, but the cute maid girl walked away, and the door closed before I could reach it. What the fuck? Am I a test subject, or something like that? With no answers to my questions, I just went to have a meal again.
Walking over to the wall food hologram, I wondered what I should order. Should I get something more substantial than just soup? Like, I don’t know, steak, maybe? It is an option that I can choose. While I was thinking about this, a voice rang out in my head.

Unknown Voice: “Going by the current condition of your body, I would recommend a liquid meal, such as the chicken soup that you ate yesterday.” She said.
What the hell!? Looking around, there wasn’t anyone around me at all… I am now being haunted by a ghost?…
Unknown Voice: “I am no ghost, but your personal AI assistant.” She said.
Streya: “AI assistant? Then, could you help me escape this place?” I ask with a joking tone.
AI Assistant: “No. As I have been blocked, and can only provide you with information for the betterment of your health. As you’re a human, it is highly unlikely for this block to be voided.” She explained.
Streya: “What do you mean by me being a human?” I ask with a raised eyebrow.
AI Assistant: “I cannot answer that question, sorry. If you wish to use your Personal Computer, just think about using it.” She replied.
Personal Computer? Now I am just more confused… Though, when I thought about using it similar to the other holographic displays, a new one popped up in front of me.
It wasn’t those cool systems that Isekai protagonists get, rather, it was a holographic computer, and nothing more. Though, it did show me cool things, such as how hungry I am, what the condition of my body is, and other things like that.
The display also showed me my mental state, which was displayed as highly stressed out. I mean, I guess that I am stressed… With a sigh, I ordered some chicken soup once more, and sat down to eat it.
The soup didn’t calm me down at all, though. In fact, I was even more upset at this exact moment than I was before…
AI Assistant: “You seem to be under a high level of stress. I recommend playing games to calm yourself down.” She proposed.
Games? Ah, what the hell!? There is a huge list of game consoles to play, all that I recognize as well. When I click on one game, it gives me the controller for that console, and the game shows up on my display. Cool! But can I go on the internet with this?
Ah, no dice… I can access the internet, but it is super blocked. Whatever! I’ll just play games until I get bored! And that is exactly what I did all day.
*Hours Later.*
I mean, I think that I played for the entire day. I can’t really tell, as this is a completely closed-off room. Though, assuming that the time on my display is accurate, then I played various games for over nine hours.
Oddly, I still wasn’t tired at all… Normally, this is way too long to just play games for. Granted, I know that some people can game for an entire day, but not me. And it’s not like I wasn’t interested in them, as they had game consoles up to the CS 9.
After that, most games were VR full-dive only. And stupidly, I am refused access to such games, as my mental state is in question. Great! I totally should have just kept my mouth shut…
AI Assistant: “It has been many days since you’ve last interacted with non-staff personnel. I recommend that you go socialize with other patients.” She proposed.
Other patients? Ah, so I am not a prisoner! That’s good, I was beginning to get worried about that. Though, I wonder what caused this girl to get put in this place?…
Streya: “I can leave this room?” I ask with a head tilt.
AI Assistant: “Yes, but you first need to put on your ID.” She replied.
I asked her where it was, and she said that it was next to my bed. And it was on my nightstand. The only problem is, that the “ID” in question, was a collar…
With a sigh, I put the collar on, and it tightened around my neck, before a green light appeared on a small bit of it. It didn’t hurt to have on, at least… I went over to where I last saw the door, and the said door actually opened up for me. Nice!
AI Assistant: “Please only follow the guided signs. Otherwise, you will have your freedom restricted.” She advised.
My freedom will be restricted? With caution, I looked out of the door, and saw glaringly bright holographic arrows. I guess that I have to follow those? Gathering my courage, I started to walk the halls of this odd futuristic building. I hope that I can find someone that can give me answers…
