Chapter 37: My Wife is Gone...
(*Reina’s POV.*)
Ciri mentioned going on a trip with Streya. I didn’t mind, as I felt like Streya deserved a break from her work. Of course, if the current me could go back in time, then I would prevent them both from going to that ritual site…
A few days ago, Ciri and Streya visited that ritual site. Like the other research members, they ended up accidentally activating the magic circle. For them, they just ended up in a specific spot in this dimension. But that wasn’t the same for Streya and Ciri…
Enough research was done on the magic circle to figure out what it was. Simply put, it is a magic spell that takes you to your original dimension. How we found this out was simple. An ancient vampire, who hasn’t been seen in two thousand years, came forth and took responsibility for the magic circle.
She explained that her wife, who still lives with her deep in the mountains, had a sister. She and her sister ended up in this dimension, but one of the sisters wanted to return home their dimension. Since Amber, the ancient vampire, knew magic still, she created a magic circle and spell, that would send her back to their original dimension.
Once it was used, Amber just abandoned the site, as she had no further use of it. So the answer is simple, Streya accidentally used her blood, which sent both Streya and Ciri back to her original dimension. Amber showed up after so long in seclusion, because she felt the magic circle activate.
The key problem, is that Amber never planned on how someone would come back to this dimension. At the very least, she still remembered the spell, and helped write it down for us. Even though magic isn’t used anymore, all vampires are capable of using it.
Amber: “Do you love your wife?” She asked.
Reina: “Of course. If she would ever die, I would kill myself on the spot.” I reply with a smile.
Amber: “Then I have a suggestion.” She said.
Reina: “What is it?” I ask.
Amber: “Use the already made circle, and put Streya’s blood onto it. You will end up in her dimension. Once there, you can use your blood to get back to this dimension.” She proposed.
Reina: “Hm…” I say with a thinking pose.
As much as I want to save Streya, this plan isn’t perfect… For one, I have to find some of her blood… Sure, I would drink her blood while having sex, but we always got clean sheets afterward… Yeah, Amber’s plan is the best we got, but I need Streya’s blood to actually put it into action…
The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.
With hurried movements, I looked around our entire house, just trying to find some of her blood. I… I couldn’t find a single bit of her blood at all… I guess that’s what we get for being clean freaks most of the time… Dammit! Am I really going to lose my wife, over some stupid fucking ancient magic!?…
*A Week Later.*
Nothing… There wasn’t any bit of Streya’s blood to be found at all… Not even the used sheets, that should still have very small, microscopic remnants of her blood on them, worked on the magic circle… Amber had grim news, which was that I needed an actual drop of her blood. Small dried up bits of Streya’s blood wouldn’t work at all…
I was at my wit’s end… Not once in my life have I ever had a problem this serious… Our wedding was already planned out, and everything. But now, it looks like we might miss it. That isn’t the main problem, as my mind is solely on Streya. The wedding is just something else for me to be stressed out about…
Sin: “Reina, at the very least, Streya is still alive. She will return home to use, eventually.” She said with a warm tone.
Reina: “I know…” I say with a sad sigh.
Sin was my only lasting connection to Streya. Oddly, she somehow took me in as her daughter. Through each other, we were able to deal with our sadness from missing Streya. It doesn’t matter that she will return eventually, as just missing her for a little over a week, is the worst torture that I have ever experienced.
When Streya was kidnapped by that evil vampire, I felt as if my world would end. That woman had already killed before, so there was no telling if she had already killed Streya or not. After all, though it is very hidden knowledge, silver works on a vampire’s bride as well.
As Streya always carries her handgun and knife, it would make sense that her healing isn’t as strong as it should be. Stupidly, after that whole event, I asked her to not use them anymore. To which she agreed. If only I hadn’t done that, then she would still have some weapons to defend herself with…
All of a sudden, Miki showed up at our door. She was a mess, as you would expect, she lost her wife as well. Miki had a remorseful look on her face when I opened up the door. What happened?…
Miki: “Reina, please forgive me!” She said while presenting a box with a bow.
Reina: “This is?” I ask with a confused tone.
Miki: “Streya’s wedding present to you. She wanted to give it to you at your wedding. As an apology for having a very safe for work wedding.” She explained.
Reina: “Why do you have it?” I ask.
Miki: “Reina… If she kept it here, you would have easily found it.” She said with a sigh.
Miki was right, and she didn’t even need to explain what was in the box. I could easily smell that it was Streya’s blood… Opening it up, I saw five vials of Streya’s blood inside the box. Clearly, she went to some blood boutique to get her blood drawn… The date states that she did this a while back…
Miki: “Knowing her, she probably completely forgot about this gift. Streya has been very busy lately.” She said with a sad tone.
Reina: “Right…” I reply.
Miki: “Now then, could you please go bring back our wives?” She asked with a smile.
Reina: “Of course.” I reply with a smile of my own.
Not even caring about the mess, I took out some paint and a brush, and wrote out the spell onto my floor. It took me ten minutes to paint out the spell. As I needed to make sure to actually write correctly.
If I messed it up, I could easily send myself to the completely wrong place, or just straight up die. With a smile, I made sure no one else was near the magic circle, and then dropped some of Streya’s blood onto it. Streya, just you wait, I will bring you home soon!
