Chapter 22: Beating a Vampire. (In Chess!)

(*Streya’s POV.*)

Reina wasn’t one to ever lose, so her losing to me was a great blow to her ego. No. I am not being dramatic. By the time that we got to the amusement park, we had played over a thousand matches together.

How many times did Reina win compared to me? None. That’s right, she hadn’t won a single game against me… Lost to time would be a major understatement… No one even knew of the various famous moves and tactics.

No matter how Reina played, I would always know of a tactic to win against her. Luckily, rather than be upset with me, she was clearly having the time of her life. It seems that having someone challenge her like this, is something that she is very fond of.

Streya: “Reina, we have already landed, you know?” I say with a giggle.

Reina: “I know that! But I want to win against you at least once!” She exclaimed with a pout.

Streya: “Reina, let’s cut the crap, shall we?” I suggest.

Reina: “Huh? What’s wrong? Did I make you upset?” She asked with a nervous tone.

Streya: “You like me, right? In a sexual and romantic way. This trip is a date, right?” I ask with a warm tone.

Reina: “Was… was it that obvious?” She asked with a red face.

Streya: “Yes, very. Now, shall we go have a date, or do you want to spend the rest of the day playing chess with me in your shuttle?” I ask with a giggle.

Reina: “But… I thought that you would hate vampires… Are you really willing to give me a chance?” She asked with a nervous tone.

Streya: “I am, yes. Though, I do not know if we will work out, I am at least willing to try dating you. Besides, you’re absolutely my type.” I answer.

Reina: “Um… could you perhaps give me a moment to compose myself?” She asked with a bright red face.

Of course, I will give the cute vampire girl her space. I got out of the shuttle, and waited by it for Reina to calm down. It is pretty surprising having your crush admit to liking you, after all.

I waited for eight minutes before she finally came out of the shuttle. Rather than the embarrassed young lady, she regained her mature aura.

Reina: “Shall we go have fun now, Streya?” She asked with a smile.

Streya: “Of course, let’s.” I say with a smile before wrapping one of my hands around one of Reina’s hands.

Doing this caused Reina to pause and blush once more, but she quickly regained her composer. She decided to be the one to lead us, and I let her. Unlike me, she most likely poured over the information on this park, so she would know where the best rides were.

As you would expect, the first ride we went on was a rollercoaster. When you think of an amusement park, you would think of cheap food, and almost dangerous rides, right?

That wasn’t the case in this world at all. In fact, amusement parks in my world would easily and instantly shut down in this one… There weren’t any restaurants, and the food was just similar to what you can get in your house.

That is to say, even though this place is huge, almost all of it is for rides. As for the rollercoaster, Reina acted like it was going super fast, but it was super slow to me. She screamed a lot while on the ride, while I did enjoy myself, I didn’t make any loud noises.

Reina needed a break after the rollercoaster, so I sat down on a bench with her and rubbed her back. While doing this, I decided to research thrill rides.

Apparently, even the most tame thrill ride back in my world, would be banned. The legal limit for speed was just 15 miles per hour. Even then, the rollercoaster that we went on, which is considered the highlight of this park, only went 9 MPH…

Streya: “How about a less extreme ride next?” I suggest.

Reina: “That would be wise… It sorta irks me how you were unaffected by the ride…” She said with a sigh.

After that, we went to various other rides. All in all, each ride was still fun. And actually, with them being so safe to ride, I’d say that I enjoyed them even more than normal.

This dimension is… odd. Sure, companies still sell things, but it the government genuinely respects, and wants people to be treated well, and not endangered due to greed. I have yet to find a single product or service that is dangerous or unhealthy.

It goes without saying, but smoking isn’t a thing in this world. Actually, it sorta is… Rather than inhaling dangerous chemicals, their cigarettes just use water vapor. As for alcohol, the highest percent of alcohol content that you can actually buy is just three percent.

Besides vampires getting drunk from blood, humans getting drunk is considered a medical issue. There really isn’t any reason to get drunk, as there are many legal drugs, if you could call them that, which will give you any effect or high you wish. And safely, at that.

Anyway, back to the current moment, Reina and I are riding a slow ride at the moment. It was basically just a tunnel of love, if I am being honest. Oddly, without me realizing it, I had leaned my head on Reina’s shoulder.

We super looked like a couple right now… Reina just had a bright smile on her face. I guess that I was worried over nothing… Reina does like me, but she isn’t crazy. And I think that she will let me live my life as I see fit.

Frankly, is there any reason for me to not go out with her? Well, besides not being the legal age, I mean… As we came to a nearly completely dark part of the ride, Reina got me to lift my head up.

I could tell what the look in her eyes meant… She wanted to kiss me, and worse, I wanted her to kiss me as well… Was I really this easy? No. Stop that, stupid brain! Reina is nice, I like how she looks, and she will clearly agree with my way of life. And most importantly, I like her.

As Reina got her face close to mine, with her lips getting closer and closer to my own, I closed my eyes. As the darkness of the ride fades away to light, I had just given Reina my first kiss. And judging by her reaction when I introduced my tongue into the mix, I had just taken her first kiss as well…
