The streets of England were still utterly ravaged several days after Jack's rampage, but signs of rebuilding were visible in the continent. Although first responders did their best to aid affected civilians on the day of the massacre, most were still ordinary humans with ordinary stamina. They couldn't keep their excursions to help people all over England, as it was too exhausting.
Thankfully, they had soldiers of the Enlightenment Program to aid them. That was not the limit to how favorable their circumstances could get, as the country possessed an exceptionally selfless soldier who achieved enlightenment - Amber Hoss.
In what could only be seen by regular humans as a detailed structure of golden light encompassing cities, Amber was rescuing unfortunate civilians trapped under the rubbles of ruined buildings and briskly instantly bringing them to treatment.
Amber brought these injured civilians to the hospitals, and the medical professionals saw them appearing on gurneys and a bright flash of golden light. They were aware of Amber's deeds, as they quickly and with alacrity, brought them to the emergency room.
The civilians Amber brought in varied with the extent of their injuries. Simply bleeding and unconscious was preferable, as others suffered extensive wounds, missing limbs, and disfigured or mangled body parts. The doctors knew more casualties would accumulate and so did Amber, but that didn't stop them from at least attempting to save someone who was currently living.
"Jeez, this is all terrible. How are we supposed to save some of these people?" A nurse questioned. Tired from the work they went through for days on end, visible bags were seen under her eyes. "Everyone here has been working to the bone, we're all tired. That and the compounding factor of some of the civilians' extensive injuries means that many more will unfortunately die."
"C'mon, let's not think like that. We gotta keep drinking coffee and energy drinks, I suppose," A doctor, who also had visible baggy eyes, stated. "That woman, Amber Hoss, worked hard to defeat Jack the Ripper and is still working hard. I've heard how selfless she is. We have to try our best as well."
Amber seemed to have rescued everyone in the city she ran around. She had taken a break and rested for a bit.
"I've rescued all survivors in those four cities," Amber stated. She currently utilized the enlightened form she achieved against Jack, judging by the golden halo above her head, white linen robes, angelic wings, white eye bandages, and golden strapped sandals. "The light I radiate no longer reveals any civilians."
"Hey, Amber!" Ariel's voice was audible as she approached her friend along with Amber's master, Meu.
"Oh, hello, Ariel! Master!" Amber greeted. Although her eyes were covered, Amber's delighted smile made it obvious that she was happy to see them.
"Wow, you look so different, I could hardly recognize you!" Ariel remarked. "Is this your so-called 'enlightenment?' You look awesome!"
"Yeah, after getting this power, I thought I'd have to learn how to re-use it," Amber responded. "But it's like I instinctively know how to tap into it."
"Yes, your form looks amazing," Meu complimented. "I'm glad I decided to follow my student, Ariel, so I can see what you've achieved with my eyes."
"Thank you!"
"So, how has the rescuing been going for you, Amber?" Ariel questioned. "I already know you've been working hard."
Amber held her head down, sparking surprise in Meu and Ariel. The features of her enlightenment disappeared like light flowing off Amber's body as she returned to her original state.
"Yeah, I have been working hard but I keep getting reminded of my failures..." Amber stated. "With every unfortunate, deceased person that I come across while I'm trying to rescue, I keep remembering my weakness."
"Amber..."
"Aiden, Mr. Altius...the people I let die all rush through my memories," Amber continued. "To make matters worse, the poor civilians with life-threatening or altering injuries are not few. It's all...my fault."

Amber's negative speech placed frowns on her friend's and master's faces, but Meu strangely nudged Ariel with her elbow.
"S-Should I do it, master?" Ariel whispered.
"Yup!" Meu responded as she performed the thumbs-up gesture. Confused by their plans, Amber gazed at the two with raised eyebrows.
"Huh--"
SLURP!
Amber felt a warm and slimy sensation on her hand which caused her to flinch.
"Huh!?" Amber exclaimed as she looked to the source of that sensation and saw none other than a sheep standing beside her. It was not a regular sheep, as its cloud-like wool was completely pink. "A sheep!?"
The sheep was not the only animal that appeared. Cairo the hawk flew in and landed right on Ariel's shoulder. Cairo was accompanied by the hops of a bunny and the chirping sounds of a rocky-skinned gecko were audible as they approached Ariel.
The soft fur of the rabbit was like that of snow, and the gecko was as large as a standard sedan.
"W-Wow! Where did these come from!?" Amber questioned as she gazed at the animals.
"Remember when I told you I have more animals tamed, and that I'd show you them? I'm sure you remember Cairo, but these are the rest!" Ariel responded. "Now's the perfect time to show you! The sight of my cute friends is cheering you up, right?"
"Y-Yes! They are so cute!" Amber responded while covering her mouth out of reflex. Understandably, one would find a white-furred rabbit and a pink wool sheep appealing or pretty, but not many would say the same for a large rocky-skinned gecko.
"You can thank Master Meu for this!" Ariel remarked. "She was the one who came up with this idea!"
"R-Really, master!"
"Yes! I gave you, my students, the task of rescuing these poor civilians around the world which would push your limits and endurance and draw out more life energy. I have ensured that I knew the personalities of my students, though," Meu explained. "You wouldn't need to be asked to help, even if you've already attained enlightenment and past the point of drawing out life energy, Amber. I knew you'd be affected by the destruction, though, so I did this."
"I-I see."
"To be honest, I didn't want to release my animals into the public. I don't want... any more of my friends...to die," Ariel muttered as she recalled the deceased Shadow. "But...I can't stay wallowing in my sorrow and grief, right?"
"N-No, your grief is understandable!"
"Fufu, don't worry, Amber. Sariel, Ivory, Kreuger...everyone's working hard to rebuild this country, and I'll do the same!" Ariel stated as she expressed a chirpy demeanor. "We'll become as strong as you, so we can always help you. Besides, you'll help me and my animal friends when we're having a hard time, right?"
A bright and delighted smile was expressed on Amber's face in response to Ariel's declaration.
"Yeah!"
"I'm so glad my students are getting along so well with each other!" Meu stated. "If only Ryzen were here to see this!"
"Speaking of him, where is Ryzen anyway?" Amber questioned.
*
The developer had departed from the director's home. There was no sense of urgency in his reason for leaving, as the developer was taking the night sky from a cliff's edge.
"Ahh, the view is so nice, no matter how long I've been on this planet," The developer remarked as he stretched his hand out to feel the sensation of the ambient wind. "But, something strange has been happening. I've been met by people out of the blue while I'm admiring the scenery. First Themis, now this. Pretty sure that's deja vu, isn't that right, Ryzen?"
He had not randomly uttered Ryzen's name, as he happily gazed at the developer as he stood behind him.
"Hey, what's up," Ryzen casually greeted.
"If it isn't the man who helped Amber Hoss, Themis's avatar, grow and attain enlightenment, causing Jack, my game character, to be killed," The developer sarcastically greeted. "What's up?"
"Aw, come on. We both know Jack would be too annoying to control in the long run. That and the mere fact he's not the 'vessel,' means he's a liability in the end," Ryzen responded. "Plus, Amber Hoss won't last long with the selfless mentality she has."
"Heh, you have some nerve calling my game character a liability," The developer retorted. "Aren't you just my game moderator? I don't remember game moderators being allowed to smack talk the developer's games."
"Heh, I've known you for a thousand years. I don't think I'm just a game moderator," Ryzen argued. "A friend can only joke about your game characters."
"...Maybe so. I suppose you have some plan with Amber, so I'll let it slide. I know that you, of all people, would never side with a blessed woman like her," The developer coldly stated. "Whatever you're planning better involves some good character development for my game characters."
"Speaking of game characters, how is Nathan Hayes doing?"
"...He has been taking things well. It's like he was overjoyed with Jack's death," The developer explained. "When Lilith's not involved in anything, Nathan's motivation flies out the window."
"Hmm, that's not good. I have high hopes for him, too," Ryzen stated as he rubbed his chin. "If Lilith is his motivation, you should just use that to your fullest."
"Yeah, I have some ideas, but my main idea depends on Ada Foster," The developer agreed. "She knows a lot about Nathan and his weaknesses, after all."
"Oh, if her actions would help with his growth, I could help her slightly, but that's if Nathan manages to grow and not die," Ryzen stated. "If he does die though, you have Lilith Ashley, I suppose."
"Uh-huh."
