Nathan currently found himself in a dire situation, as his dear Lilith was held hostage and he had no potential to save her.

"Y-You said...you didn't know...where Lilith was..." Nathan muttered as his breathing rate increased. "Y-You lied..."

"Haha! Look how pathetic you sound right now!" John loudly mocked with excitement. "You believed the words of your enemy!?"

The desperate Nathan glanced at Lilith to observe her status.

"D-Don't worry about me, Nathan!" Lilith assured. "Just focus on--ugh!"

The annoyed Claw had disrupted Lilith's statement as the claws he received upon his super soldier modifications elongated from his fingertips and drew blood around her neck. He had wrapped his fingers around her neck but only applied pressure to draw blood slightly.

"Enough talking," Claw coldly remarked.

"Get your hands off of her!!!" Provoking his ire, Nathan exclaimed.

"Man, I've waited for this day from the very moment you and your group massacred my super soldiers!" John stated. "Make sure you don't let her go, Claw!"

"Yeah."

"J-Just let her go--"

"If you don't want your girlfriend to die, then stay still, Nathan!" John advised as he darted towards his opponent, surprising Nathan. "She'll die if you dare block!"

S-Shit!

BAM!

With an ecstatic look, John rushed up and delivered a brutal right hook to Nathan's jaw. Fearing for the life of Lilith, Nathan had no choice but to stand there and eat that blow.

"AAHHHH!!!" Nathan yelled as he was rag-dolled through multiple large buildings, causing immense property damage with his body as the projectile.

"NATHAN!" The panicked Lilith called out at the top of her lungs. The excited John wasted no time and quickly hounded down on Nathan, who crashed into a building.

Damn...it-- Coughing up blood, Nathan internally quarreled.

"You and your damn parents, my Nathan!" John uttered as he rushed up and immediately grabbed Nathan's head. "You three stripped everything from me!"

Nathan didn't try to defend himself, as John violently slammed his head into the building walls. A loud bang was audible as the impact destroyed the infrastructure. The dust that was roused dirtied Nathan's clothing.

"I worked so hard to reach where I was, even with your parents slowing my progress!" John remarked as he followed up with a strike to his gut, blasting Nathan into a school bus parked on the road curb. Nathan's body provided enough force to topple over and land upside down.

"After dealing with the stain of the blessed criminals plaguing this country, my reputation had never been higher!" John stated as he casually approached Nathan, who was mustering the strength to stand. Nathan was bleeding quite a lot and was rather bruised. "But you came along and just had to finish your parents' work. Your presence brought about my downfall!"

John approached and ruthlessly struck Nathan in the chest, sending him through the metal body of the school bus. John's punch returned Nathan to Lilith and Claw, as he laid before them in pain.

"N-Nathan..." Lilith muttered as she observed his injured body. "Let me go, dammit!"

"I won't. I don't know much about you, but I would have felt bad if you two were still innocent, but you've committed many crimes now," Claw stated. "Although John has done a lot of messed up stuff, you two are criminals deserving of death...especially for what your group did to my comrades."

Freaking hell...what do I do? Nathan pondered as he lay on the ground and stared at the sky. I-I need to at least...ensure Lilith's safety.

"I prepared all this for you, Nathan...I even found Serena Collins! I bet you never thought that Serena may have her circumstances for accusing you of rape, but you never tried to look for her!" John explained as he approached him, much to Lilith's worry. "From your failure of killing me back then, to stupidly abandoning Serena...all your past regrets and mistakes are returning to bite you!"

S-So he's saying...I'm in the wrong? Who would want to talk to someone who ruined...your life? Nathan internally questioned. H-How should I have known...she was threatened...?

"...Go...die," Nathan uttered. This provoked great ire in John, as his eyebrows furrowed and he gritted his teeth. Like a predator that knows he has its prey, John responded by stooping over Nathan's chest.

"G-Get off of him!" Lilith yelled as she continued to struggle. She swung her sword wildly but didn't have the leverage to hit Claw due to his position behind her.

"Tch, stop swinging that thing..." Claw muttered as he watched the katana's trajectory.

"Can't you see that your existence is hated by everyone? You're an S-Class criminal who keeps away civilians from enjoying their lives!" John berated Nathan as he ruthlessly and repeatedly struck Nathan in the face. "You never had anything good in this world, and you never will because of all your crimes! You're the one who should go die!"

As Nathan's face turned left and right with every punch, blood spewed from his mouth and stained the concrete.

"The suffering, both physical and my reputation, I went through is because of you! You made me experience the excruciating pain to become a super soldier!!!" John yelled as he migrated his strikes to Nathan's chest, delivering a flurry of brutal hits. "Unlike you, I have a future in society to look forward to, but I can't go back to normal until I make you suffer until your last breath!"

Nathan's discomfort only proved to intensify, as the sound of ribs breaking was loud and audible...and John never stopped striking as his fist sunk in Nathan's chest. Lilith witnessed as copious amounts of blood were roused from Nathan's mouth, increasing her despair.

The swollen, black eye, discolored bruising, broken bones and excessively bleeding Nathan sustained never made it any better.

"I SAID STOP, PLEASE!" Lilith yelled as tears started pooling from her eyes. She struggled with enough intensity that Lilith freed herself from Claw's grasp, albeit receiving scratches on her neck.

Despite being barely conscious and still being beaten to a pulp, Nathan witnessed this action from Lilith.

"Damn it! I'll kill you!" The surprised Claw uttered as he quickly grabbed Lilith's arm.

"Get out of my way!" Lilith yelled as she swung her katana at Claw's head. He observed it and was about to lift his free hand to block.

Get...your hands...off of Lilith... The barely conscious Nathan internally spoke as he opened his right hand out and stretched it in Claw's direction. In an unprecedented moment, a blue sedan suddenly appeared on top of Claw, before landing on his head.

This was the first time Nathan had materialized something from a distance and not from his hands. His blessing had suddenly upgraded, and it was all to protect Lilith.

"Ugh...what--" Claw grunted as the car's weight disrupted his balance and attempted to block, before dropping to the ground. The super soldier had no time to recover, as the katana passed flesh, bone, and flesh again. He was instantly decapitated by Lilith.

This may have been a good outcome as she escaped the clutches of the super soldier, but seeing her take another life caused Nathan's heart to sink. Once again, he failed to stop Lilith from being forced to take a life.

Lilith's escape was short lived though, as John had observed her actions from his peripheral vision. He wasted no time and suddenly appeared in front of Lilith.

BAM!

She had no time to react, as John struck her in the temple of her head which knocked her to the ground. Her katana fell out of her hand and John quickly kicked it away, effectively disarming her.

"Ugh...Li...lith!" Nathan weakly muttered upon observing this.

"Get out...of my...way..." Lilith muttered as she slowly stood up. Her face was bruised from the strike. She seemed rather delirious which was understandable, as she was just hit in the soft spot of a human's head.

What a useless bastard. John pondered as he coldly gazed at Claw's corpse.

"...Heh, how could I disregard your source of happiness, Nathan? Simply beating you to death would not be enough to pay you back the suffering you caused me," John stated. "...I've got the one person who has the potential to break you to pieces!"

"D...don't..."

You've taken everything from me...brought immense suffering to my life! So watch as I do the same to you! John pondered with a sadistic grin. I'll make you suffer just like the day you witnessed your parents being executed!
