As both opponents stood off against each other, Nathan's eyes suddenly wandered to the side. He had noticed the developer, who casually sat on a building and spectated them.
...That bastard has been sitting and watching this entire time. I guess Lilith is all right then, as I suspected. Nathan pondered before quickly returning his gaze to John. I don't have time to waste...let's focus on this right now.
"What are you standing around for!?" John yelled as he darted toward Nathan. He resumed the fight with a powerful jab, but Nathan seamlessly weaved the attack. He engaged Nathan in hand-to-hand combat, throwing out several jabs and punches that produced strong winds, but Nathan continued weaving and bobbing around them.
To keep up with the pace of dodging John's rush of blows, Nathan repeatedly stepped backward. John tried everything he could, even attempting a sneaky kick to Nathan's thigh while he threw out the jabs synchronously, but not even that was enough as Nathan lifted his leg to block the punt with his foot.
Nathan wasn't simply engrossed in his battle but occasionally glimpsed at his surroundings. His careful attention revealed to Nathan that he was backpedaling into a building. Realizing this fact, Nathan suddenly placed his palm on John's chest after weaving another blow.
BOOM!
From his metallic glove, a powerful burst of air pressure was released and launched the surprised John several meters away.
Ugh...what? John uttered. What did he even materialize at that time--
Nathan followed up by hopping onto the roof of the building he was about to bump into and quickly materialized an assault rifle. John's expression changed to shock, and so he quickly moved to avoid the oncoming gunfire.
A trace of bullets was left in the ground as Nathan attempted to track John's hypersonic movements but to no avail. They were currently at a stalemate as Nathan couldn't hit the moving target, and John had to focus on dodging.
The stalemate was quickly shattered as John took the risk of hopping onto the building Nathan stood on. His straight vertical jump significantly lowered the difficulty of hitting him, as Nathan remorselessly landed numerous super-piercing ammo on John's body. Still, John did succeed in landing on the roof.
John, angered by the bullet wounds he sustained, immediately rushed Nathan for close combat. Nathan responded in kind as he met him halfway, not before re-storing his assault rifle.
"What the hell is wrong with you and that cowardly way of fighting!? Stop running around and attacking!" John yelled as he intensely threw out punches. "Come at me without your damn weapons! Fight like a man!"
"Heh, are you angry because you're losing? How many decades have an old bastard like you fought!? You're not bad, but your moves are predictable!" Nathan mocked as he continued avoiding. "I guess you never needed to fight due to having a high ranking in the military! And I'm sure you being so old is decreasing your effectiveness as a super soldier!"
"Shut up!" John yelled as he threw out another powerful punch. At least, that's what Nathan thought as he attempted to weave, but John suddenly diverted the direction of his strike. John had aimed for the roof, which immediately broke apart upon impact.

"What--" Nathan uttered as he suddenly lost his footing due to the damaged roof. John gave him no time to recover as he followed up with a devious right hook to the staggering Nathan's face. His strike had enough power to force blood from Nathan's mouth.
John didn't end it there, as he violently grabbed the back of Nathan's head and pulled him into a knee strike. The force of the blow blasted Nathan through a large building, causing it to implode in the process.
Tsk, that insect was just a regular human months ago...how the hell did he get so powerful? John wondered as he hopped off the building. No...that doesn't matter. His life is already in my hands!
He immediately pursued Nathan but was surprised because Nathan was already up on his feet and prepared to fight again. Although he had bruises and a bloody nose, Nathan's physical condition was very positive currently.
With the unpredictability of Nathan's blessing, John didn't know what to expect. His confusion was suddenly magnified as Nathan instantly materialized a pair of sunglasses and headphones.
"Huh--"
BANG!
It was too late for John to process or move away, as the area around him was filled with a blinding light. Nathan had materialized several flashbangs in advance.
"Urgh!" John grunted as he clenched his eye sockets in extreme discomfort. The flashbangs were effective as they stunned Nathan's enemy.
Nathan wasted more time as he utilized his inventory again and threw several cluster grenades he summoned on the stunned John. A cluster of powerful blasts engulfed the 'super soldier' as the mini bombs ejected from the grenade exploded. Nathan had shown great acrobacy as he flipped away a far distance to avoid the blasts.
"Urgh..." The visibly injured John grunted as he leaned on a nearby ruined infrastructure for support. He sustained extensive burns, and his white super soldier uniform was burnt and tattered.
"...You know, I'm glad you survived that car accident back then. It left a poor taste in my mouth that you died such an easy death," Nathan remarked. "But since you survived, I can truly kill you with my own hands, John Walker. I'll ensure to take that damn head of yours off your body."
"...What a terrible thing to say, Nathan. You're sounding just like your criminal friends," John mocked as he recovered his bearings. "Not only were you the man responsible for taking everything away from me, but you've become stronger than your previous insect self, I'll admit In all my life, you and your parents were the only thorn in my side."
"Tsk just shut the hell up with your damn rambling!" Nathan yelled. "Let's just hurry up and finish this--"
"CLAW! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU WAITING SO LONG FOR!" Much to Nathan's surprise, John suddenly yelled at the top of his lungs. "COME ON OUT WITH HER!"
"Huh--"
"Ugh...I said let me go!" Frustrated cries suddenly resonated in the area. This yelling was familiar as Nathan instantly shifted his gaze to the direction.
"Sigh...don't blame me for taking so long," As Nathan observed, the reason for the yelling became clear to him. The super soldier, Claw, had approached the duo, holding the struggling Lilith hostage. "She was...stronger than I expected."
Although Lilith was currently restrained, she evidently gave the enemy a warm time. She had inflicted several deep, visibly bleeding sword slashes on Claw's body and face.
"W-What?" Nathan uttered with bewilderment. Seeing his expression, John couldn't hide his sudden grin.
"N-Nathan?" Lilith uttered as she observed the scene. "W-Wait...is that...John Walker!?"
"H-Hey...l-let her go," All confidence left Nathan's face and tone as he softly pleaded.
"Ha! What happened to your confidence, Nathan!? I bet you never expected this!" John exclaimed in a victorious tone. "As I said, you were the thorn that took everything away from me, so I couldn't sleep peacefully unless I returned that suffering. Which is why I'll take advantage of your biggest weaknesses!"
"...Y-You damn...bastard..."
The developer, who observed the scene, gazed with a rather disappointed look.
"Sigh, you truly weren't developed enough. This would have never happened if you had rejected Serena's apology and simply killed her," The developer stated. "Whatever, there's nothing I can do now...but watch."
