I was feeling unwell and sweating profusely. I didn't know why.
One day, I couldn't understand why my hand stuck to the wall, but as time went on, I realized it was because of my powers.
I got used to my powers within two days. Just when I thought I could help Spider-Man with my full powers, I received news of his death.
This news tore me apart. Since my childhood, Spider-Man had been an invincible hero to me.
Honestly, I was very scared. Even with my powers, I could still die, just like Spider-Man. I decided to lead a normal life, keeping my powers hidden.
"With great power comes great responsibility." My brother told me that, and it stuck with me. That's the reason for my decision.
As my spider senses developed, my perception heightened, and I started to sense things around me much more easily.
I don't know why, but every time I got closer to my brother, my spider senses would warn me.
I don't understand the reason for this, but my guess is that my brother was ill, and my spider senses were warning me to protect him.
After fully adapting to my powers, I designed a suit and web shooters. It was time to go outside and use my powers to protect people.
My father was asleep, and my brother wasn't home. He would probably come home late, so now was the perfect time to go out.
I quickly put on my web shooters and costume. The costume was white and fit me perfectly. I also created a voice modulator so that people wouldn't recognize me by my voice.
I was much smarter and could focus more easily after gaining my powers.
I ran along the tops of buildings from my room's window. The sensation was incredible; I felt like a bird.
The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.
I was surprised when I saw a fire rising in the dark and quickly headed towards it. I hadn't fully mastered the use of the spider web, which delayed my arrival.
When I got to the fire, I was shocked by what I saw. There was a burning building wreckage, and the surroundings looked like there had been a major battle.
Around the collapsed debris, I saw several human bodies, and it was almost making me sick.
In the midst of the wreckage, a man stood. The man was looking at a metal case in his hand.
He was dressed in black, and he had a gray mask on his face. I actually didn't know how he saw through the mask because it had no eye holes.
"Focus, Gwen," I told myself.
I used my web to pull the case towards me. The man was momentarily surprised, but he quickly recovered from his astonishment.
He swung a chain-bladed weapon from somewhere I couldn't identify, cutting my spider web. As the web was cut, the case fell to the ground. I was closer to the case, so I began to run towards it and was about to grab it when the man threw his chain-blades.
There was a gap of at least four meters between us, so it was impossible for the blades to hit me.
My spider senses warned me and caused me to leap into the air, spinning as I did. In mid-air, time seemed to slow down as if in slow motion.
The chains of the blades in the man's hand had extended, and the blades were passing just centimeters from where I had been a moment ago.
There was only about ten centimeters between the blades and me, and I could feel the incredible heat they emitted.
If the temperature had been a bit higher, it could have likely melted my costume. Time sped up, and I landed on the ground.
Clearly, my hands were trembling. If my spider senses hadn't warned me, the blades would have cut me into three pieces. A thought crossed my mind, *Should I escape from here?*
*NO!* I thought.
I had great power, and I would take responsibility, just as my brother had told me. The man in front of me didn't take me seriously; he destroyed his blades and started taunting me.
His words made me angry, and I quickly charged towards him, delivering a kick to his ribs. I didn't even know how I did it; my body was incredibly flexible, and I could easily do the things I thought of.
My kick sent the man flying two meters. My foot felt numb, and before I could return to normal, the man got up with a laugh and attacked me.
The man's fighting style was terrible, as if he didn't care about getting hurt. With my spider senses, I easily evaded his attacks.
*If he continues like this, he'll get tired,* I thought. But to my surprise, he didn't tire at all. On top of that, his attacks became stronger and faster.
He hit me in the jaw with a punch, and I was sent flying about ten meters, crashing into debris. My eyes closed, and the last thing I saw was the man turning away from the scene.
Suddenly, my spider senses woke me up, and I stood up. I was still in the same wreckage, and I could hear the sounds of the police and fire brigade approaching.
I didn't know why the man had left me alive. "He probably wanted to escape before the police arrived," I said to myself.
As the sounds around me got closer, I quickly left the wreckage and distanced myself from the scene. My costume was slightly damaged, and my jaw hurt. Today was my first fight, and I had failed, but it wouldn't deter me.
"One day, I'll catch you!" I said, thinking of the masked man.
When I got home, I entered my room through the window. I changed my clothes as quietly as possible and took a shower.
After the shower, I lay on my bed, thinking about the fight I had just been through, and fell asleep.
