I said, “So, they're waiting for me,” with a smile on my face.

I was nearing the end of my mission, and no one could stop me. I quickly left the scene and entered a side street, where I set up the system store.

In my battle with Starlight, the upper part of my outfit had been destroyed, and I needed to get a new one. When I entered the store, I saw many new items on display.

Most of these items were things I didn't need at the moment. I swiftly searched the store for things that would be useful for my mission.

I was about to enter a major battle, and I needed to be prepared. Even though I was much stronger than them, I had to be cautious.

The sky was already dark, and night was approaching. I had killed many heroes in a single day, and I was feeling mentally fatigued. This fatigue wouldn't stop me from completing the mission, but once it was done, I would go home and get a good night's sleep.

While browsing the system store, I found a few items that would be useful for my mission. One of these items was a new outfit.

This outfit could transform into a wristband, just like the previous one. It was black, tightly fitting my upper body, covering my chest and shoulders. It left my arms exposed, and it looked great on me.

When I transformed the outfit into a wristband, a black bracelet appeared on my arm. The bracelet featured a metal skull emblem. With my tattoos on my arms, it looked quite impressive.

Another useful item I found in the store was a defense rune. Initially, I thought I only needed to wear armor to increase my defense, but I was mistaken.

When I purchased the defense rune, a tattoo of a wild boar's head in black ink appeared on my back. The tattoo was black and looked quite impressive. As long as my clothes didn't disappear, no one would be able to see this tattoo.

The last item I bought in the store was a foresight rune. When I got this rune, a black eye tattoo appeared on the back of my right hand. When combined with the tattoos on my left and right arms, they matched perfectly and looked amazing.

One advantage of these runes being beautiful was that I could upgrade them for a reasonable amount of gold. Earning gold was easy for me, so upgrading these runes wouldn't be a problem.

Aside from these items, I also bought a sturdy commando knife made of high-quality iron. This knife was less significant compared to the others. I placed it in a pocket on my pants and began walking towards Vought's base.

I had no rush to get to Vought's base, so I examined the people around me as I walked. People had been saddened by Black Noir's death, but that had been forgotten within a few hours and had become a topic of conversation.

In this world, heroes were not etched into people's hearts like in Marvel. In this world, heroes were like replaceable commodities, and the only reason for this was Vought.

I didn't care about this because I would have no business with this world after completing the mission.

I walked, observing the people around me, so it took me about three hours to reach Vought's base. Vought's base was a skyscraper that had so many floors I didn't bother counting. It had a large "V" on the top and illuminated the dark night.

"Impressive," I said as I looked at the skyscraper.

While I was gazing at the skyscraper, I heard the sound of the wind from my right. When I looked to my right, I saw Homelander standing there, looking at me with a serious expression on his face.

As I looked at him, four more people surrounded me. Two of them were women, and two were men.

One of the women had black hair and was wearing a black costume. She looked at me with a smug expression on her face.

I knew her, she was Stormfront. She had lightning powers and was quite powerful. She could fly using her lightning.

The other woman had red hair and a costume that looked very much like Wonder Woman's. She had a worried expression on her face.

Her name was Queen Maeve. Her superpower was quite ordinary. Her physical abilities were above those of normal humans.

One of the men had short hair and wore a green superhero costume. His name was The Deep, and he was a cowardly superhero who posed no real threat to me.

I had never seen the other man before and didn't know him. He had medium-length black hair and a short beard. He was giving me a stern look.

He had a triangular shield in his hand, and he was wearing a black costume. He was so nonchalant that he had a cigarette in his mouth.

I couldn't place who he reminded me of from the Marvel universe, but he seemed to be quite confident in his abilities.

While I was pondering this, Homelander flew towards me, launching an attack. When the eye tattoo on the back of my right hand glowed, I quickly stepped to the right and threw a punch in front of me.

Stepping to the right, I dodged Homelander, and my punch hit him, sending him to the ground.

As I struck Homelander, Stormfront extended her hands towards me and unleashed purple lightning bolts.

When the lightning bolts hit me, they slowed down my movements. When the eye tattoo on my right hand glowed again, I tilted my head to the left.

Tilting my head to the left, I narrowly avoided a punch that came at me. This punch belonged to Maeve. I grabbed her by the arm and threw her at Stormfront, who was still sending lightning at me.

As Maeve and Stormfront clashed, they both fell to the ground. At that moment, the shield-wielding man landed a punch from the side.

I caught his fist in mid-air and smiled at him. "Nice try," I said.

The man seemed a bit surprised that I had caught his punch, but quickly recovered and tried to hit me with his shield.

I let go of his fist and stepped back, avoiding his shield, and then delivered a punch to his exposed ribs, stunning him.

While the man was still dazed, I felt my foresight rune warning me. I turned to the right, crossing my arms in front of me.

Homelander flew towards me and slammed into me, pushing me back a couple of meters. He tried to keep dragging me back, but he failed. I grabbed him by the waist and lifted him into the air, then slammed him down with all my strength.

When I slammed Homelander to the ground, more purple lightning bolts rained down on me, slowing me down. The defense rune on my back was absorbing most of the damage and glowing brighter.

Seizing the opportunity of my slowdown, the shield-wielding man leaped onto me and started hitting me in the head with his shield.

His attacks were fast and powerful, but they didn't affect me. I had crossed a threshold recently, and I had become much stronger.

I grabbed the shield-wielding man by his legs and threw him to the ground. Turning towards Stormfront, I charged at her. Just as I was about to reach Stormfront, Maeve stepped in front of me, blocking my path.

I landed a hook to her jaw, causing her to take two steps back. Then, I delivered an uppercut to her jaw, sending her flying into the air. While she was in mid-air, I struck her with a powerful punch to her abdomen. Maeve was propelled into the Vought building.

I had no barrier left between Stormfront and me, and she had a worried expression on her face. I quickly ran towards her. Just as she tried to fly away, I grabbed her by the leg and slammed her to the ground. When she hit the ground, she seemed a bit dazed, but I didn't stop there. I didn't let go of her leg and continued to pummel her, back and forth.

After pummeling Stormfront four times, Homelander, with anger, slammed into me and dragged me into the Vought building.

He got on top of me and began throwing punches at my face.

"Die."

"Already."

"You."

"Damn."

"Monster."

He was saying a word with every punch. Finally, he let out a scream and delivered a punch with all his might. I caught his punch in mid-air and slowly got up.

Even after all those punches, I was only bleeding from my nose. Homelander looked at me in astonishment.

"You're not human," he said.

Homelander's eyes turned red, and he fired a laser at my face from close range. I used my free hand to cover his eyes.

Even though Homelander was in pain, he didn't stop firing his laser from his eyes. He was furious and wanted to kill me no matter what.

Ten seconds later, he stopped firing the laser and looked at me. I had a minor cut on my hand, and a big smile on my face.

I grabbed Homelander by the throat and lifted him into the air, choking him. While he was in the air, I punched him in the face, causing his nose and eyebrow to bleed. Just as I was about to deliver another punch, the shield-wielding man came from the left and struck my hand, holding Homelander, with his shield.

I let go of Homelander, and punched the shield-wielding man. He blocked my punch with his shield, but the force of the punch was enough to send him flying into the wall behind.

The man got up, and while standing behind me, he shouted at Homelander.

"Now."

Homelander bumped into my legs and knocked me to the ground, then pounced on top of me, hugging me. He wasn't harming me, but he was preventing me from getting up.

The shield-wielding man rushed towards us and jumped on top of me as well. He closed his eyes and started to tense up. A beam of light emitted from his chest and began to glow. When I saw this, I realized I was in danger and tried to get up, but they were preventing me.

Ten seconds later, the shield-wielding man was shining so brightly that a normal person wouldn't be able to look at him with naked eyes. Homelander left me, and quickly flew away.

As Homelander flew away, the central shield-wielding man caused a massive explosion, destroying several buildings including the Vought building.

The force of the explosion caused me to be thrown into the air, and I ended up buried under the debris of the collapsed buildings.
