I was a bit surprised when I encountered this task. Should I absorb the planet's core? I pondered this for a moment and decided to give it a try.

I activated my transformation by standing up from where I was sitting. My clothes and body started to burn, and three seconds later, my transformation was complete.

Without hesitation, I reached for my chest and drew my sword. As I drew the sword, it began to glow as usual.

I waved my free hand and pushed John away. I looked at the sword in my hand, and my instincts told me to plunge it into the ground with all my strength.

I followed my instincts and gripped the hilt of the sword with both hands, raising it into the air. With all my might, I drove the sword into the ground and infused it with flames. The ground shook and sent a shockwave outwards.

On the ground, a circle appeared with my sword at its center. Various symbols appeared inside the circle and glowed red as time passed.

Five minutes later, the flames around me began to gather in the sky. A sword made of fire, measuring a hundred meters in length, quickly formed and descended towards the ground. After the sword pierced the ground down to the hilt, it disappeared. The glowing circle around me lost its brilliance and vanished. I retrieved my sword from the sand and advanced toward the hole created by the fiery sword.

When I reached the edge of the hole, I transformed my body into ashes and flew down through the hole. After descending about 80 meters, a massive stone door appeared before me.

I looked at the door in astonishment and walked towards it. I reached the front of the stone door and tried to push it open, but it didn't budge. I placed my hand on the stone door and melted the stone, pulling the magma away from my path.

Behind the door, there was a black void. I don't know how large this void was, and at its center was a small sun.

When I looked at this sun, my mouth watered. I slowly walked towards it and reached the front of the sun.

The small sun emitted an excessive amount of heat around it, but this heat didn't affect me.

I placed my hand on the sun and began to absorb its heat. As I absorbed the sun's heat, time sped up rapidly, but I was oblivious to it.

As I absorbed the heat of the Earth's core, I quickly grew in power. While I was absorbing the core's heat, time was flowing rapidly.

-

Derek, derece by degree, sucked the heat from the core, causing the Earth to cool down. A week later, it reached a point where only one human was left on the planet.

John sat by a large hole, having woken up six days ago, thoroughly bewildered. He was already stronger than regular humans, but with the serum Derek had given him, his physical strength had doubled.

After waking up, he had searched for Derek to no avail. During this time, the Earth had been steadily growing colder, reaching its current state.

He didn't know the reason, but the area around the hole was strangely warmer compared to the rest of the world. Anyone who approached the hole had been killed, and he hadn't seen anyone in almost five days.

As John sat by the hole, a mist emerged from it, coalescing in front of him to form a 250-centimeter-long monster.

Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

Despite the three meters separating him from the monster, the incredible heat radiating from it made him sweat.

"How much time has passed?" the monster asked.

John was taken aback when he heard the monster's voice. Though the voice was growling and deep, it sounded oddly familiar.

"Derek?"

-

“Derek?”

John's words made me realize that I wasn't in human form at the moment. Flames had burned my body, and I quickly transformed back into a human form.

John looked at me in astonishment. After ten seconds of silence, he asked, "What are you?"

"I've told you before," I replied with a smile. Then, I asked, "How much time has passed?"

He seemed a bit taken aback by my question and started thinking. "It's been six or seven days," he said.

Upon hearing this, I was quite surprised. I had been absorbing the Earth's core for a full week.

Once I got over my surprise, I walked towards John and stood in front of him. John looked at me with curiosity as I opened the system store and acquired a foresight rune and a defense rune.

As I transferred the runes to John, a wild boar tattoo formed on his back, and an eye tattoo appeared on his right hand.

"What are these?" he asked.

"These are called runes. One will enhance your defense, and the other will grant you the ability of foresight. This will make you more effective in battles," I explained.

A big smile spread across his face upon hearing my words. It seemed he was quite fond of the feeling of becoming more powerful.

I purchased an expensive shield from the store and handed it to John. The shield resembled the one he had used before but was much sturdier.

"It's much better than your previous shield," I remarked.

He nodded and strapped the shield onto his left arm.

"Now, what do we do?" he asked.

Upon hearing this question, I drifted into thought. The core of this world was frozen, and there were no survivors left. It was clear that my business with this world was done.

"My task here is finished; we're going to leave from here," I said.

"Where are we going?" John inquired.

"To my universe," I replied.

-

I woke up in an alley. John was next to me, vomiting on the ground. It was his first experience with a universe change, so his nausea was understandable.

I looked around and made my way to the main road. When I spotted the main road, I furrowed my brows because there were very few people around.

"Follow me," I said and walked towards the Skulls gang's headquarters.

About ten minutes later, we arrived at the gang's headquarters. There were no gang members in sight, and everything was quiet.

I entered the building where my office was located and went to the upper floor. I entered my office, walked to my desk, and powered up the computer.

After entering the computer's password, I noticed a note left on the desktop. When I opened the note, I saw that it was from Aaron. The note contained a location for an old storage place.

After checking the location of the storage, I quickly went online to see what had happened while I was away.

Tony Stark had escaped from terrorists a day ago and had stopped manufacturing weapons. In Brooklyn, a group calling themselves the Hunters had emerged, causing significant trouble for Spider-Man and Spider-Woman.

Whenever the police tried to apprehend the Hunters, they mysteriously disappeared.

I opened a drawer on the desk and retrieved my spare phone. I quickly dialed Gwen's number.

With dangerous individuals in the city, my family's safety was paramount. Five seconds after the phone started ringing, it was answered.

"Derek!" I heard a shout from the phone before I could say anything.

"Where have you been all this time? Why didn't you answer my calls?" she asked.

"I'm sorry, things have been really busy, and I couldn't get in touch. Where's my dad? Is he okay?" I inquired.

As soon as I asked this question, there was silence on the other end of the phone. This silence made my heart tighten.

"My dad is in the hospital, severely injured by a Hunter, and he's currently being kept alive by a machine," she said. I could hear her crying at the end of her words.

Hearing Gwen's words filled me with an overwhelming sense of guilt and anger. My eyes glowed red, and the room started to heat up. Seeing this, John put his hand on my shoulder and said, "Stay calm."

Even though my anger didn't subside, I managed to restrain my power and prevent the room from catching fire.

"Where are you?" I asked Gwen.

"I'm at home," Gwen replied.

I ended the call and turned to John.

"The cities of this world and your world are the same. Go to the storage and tell them I sent you," I instructed.

Upon hearing my words, John nodded and asked, "Where are you going?"

I didn't respond to his question and turned my body into ash, swiftly heading towards home. I descended into a side street near the house and walked towards it.

Reaching the front of the house, I knocked on the door. Gwen opened the door, and when I looked at her, I noticed her eyes were red. Most likely, she had been crying after our phone call.

Without saying a word, she came towards me and hugged me with all her might. She held me so tightly that I was momentarily surprised by her strength.

I hugged her back, and we stood like that for a minute. After a minute, I gently pulled away from her, entered the house, and sat on the couch.

Gwen also sat next to me and rested her head on my shoulder.

"How did my dad get injured?" I asked.

Gwen closed her eyes upon hearing my question, clearly not wanting to think about it, but I needed to be sure about who had done this to my father.

"He got in the way of a Hunter's work. The Hunter got angry, took my dad's gun, and shot him. The bullet hit my dad in the head; the fact that he's still alive is a miracle," Gwen said.

Upon hearing these words, the dormant anger within me resurfaced.

"Why aren't Spider-Man and Spider-Woman stopping them?" I asked.

When she heard this question, Gwen looked down guiltily. I didn't really know why she felt guilty.

"When Spider-Woman arrived at the scene, the Hunters had already disappeared," Gwen said.

I nodded and stared at the empty ceiling in silence. I felt guilty and incredibly angry. About half an hour later, Gwen fell asleep leaning on my shoulder. I gently lifted her and placed her in her bed, covering her.

After leaving her room, my expression changed completely. My eyes glowed red, and the objects in the room began to tremble. I didn't know who the Hunters were or what their goals were, but I was going to kill them.
