24-Clash Of Powers(2)
I felt dizzy, and my ears were ringing. I could feel large burn marks on the upper part of my body. My clothes had been torn apart, leaving me half-naked.
"I had just bought it," I muttered through the pain.
After lying down for a few minutes, I sensed that most of my wounds had healed. I didn't know the shielded man had the power to explode himself; if I had known, I wouldn't have been so careless.
The wild boar tattoo on my back shone like a small sun, as if it wanted to release its energy.
"You're not the only one with the power to explode," I said, thinking of the shielded man.
I allowed the tattoo on my back to release the accumulated energy. When I did that, there was a massive explosion centered around me. The debris from the building on top of me was scattered by the force of the blast, making it easier for me to get up.
The explosion continued without stopping and completely cleared a fifty-meter radius.
When the tattoo on my back lost its brightness and returned to its original state, the explosion stopped. This was an ability of the defense rune; I could accumulate damage and create an explosion.
I stood up and looked around. There was no building or road left near me. All that remained was scorched earth.
Fifty meters in front of me, a team of four people stared at me in astonishment. The chain tattoos on my arms turned into chaos blades, gleaming.
"No more time to waste," I said and hurled the chaos blades towards them.
There was a fifty-meter distance between us, so they thought the blades couldn't reach them, but they were mistaken. The chains of the blades rapidly extended, reaching them.
The blades were coming from one side, so three of them easily dodged, but one couldn't.
Stormfront was severely injured and was barely walking. The chaos blades hit him from the side and were about to cut him in half.
As the chaos blades almost cleaved his waist, Stormfront looked at Homelander in shock.
"Help me," he pleaded, blood pouring from his mouth.
Homelander was about to go to him when I pulled the chains with all my might. Stormfront flew towards me in the air. I pulled the blades back to me and, with a swift motion, sliced Stormfront in half at the waist.
"NO!!" Homelander yelled in anger and glared at me.

While Homelander was flying towards me, he fired lasers from the air. When the lasers hit my body, I felt a slight tickling sensation. Homelander stopped as I hurled the chaos blades toward him, causing them to hit the ground.
What Homelander didn't anticipate was the fiery explosion that occurred when the blades hit the ground. These flames burned his skin and propelled him backward.
Homelander groaned in pain and fell to the ground. Seizing this opportunity, I charged towards him. When I got close enough, I leaped into the air with all my strength, rising twenty meters high.
With a smile on my face, I descended onto Homelander. The blades in my hands were glowing and burning. As I landed on top of him, I drove the chaos blades into his chest.
When the blades entered his chest, a much larger explosion of flames erupted than before. Maeve and the Shielded Man looked on in astonishment. I swung the blade in my right hand towards them.
As a blade emerged from the flames and headed toward them, both were taken by surprise. Maeve was on the closer side and couldn't avoid it. The blade sliced through her waist, cleaving her in two without losing momentum.
The blade was about to hit the Shielded Man when, in a reflexive move, he raised his shield. The blade easily cut his shield in half but had lost some momentum. When the blade slowed down, he took advantage of the opportunity, ducked, and evaded it. I was about to hurl the blade again, but something caught my attention.
There was a system notification in front of me, telling me that I had completed the mission. This surprised me because the man in front of me was still alive. The mission had initially instructed me to kill a significant threat.
*So, this man isn't a significant threat,* I thought. He was probably someone who had been missing for a long time. Considering the Shielded Man's power, he could easily hold his own against Homelander.
As the fire dissipated around us, I saw Homelander's remains, or at least what was left of them. The explosion had been substantial, and it was no surprise that he couldn't survive it.
Another question that lingered in my mind was The Deep. I had only seen him at the beginning of the battle, but he was nowhere to be found now. "He must have been killed by the explosions," I assumed.
The Deep's durability wasn't strong enough, and his abilities would be ineffective here. After contemplating these thoughts, I looked at the system notifications in front of me.
[Congratulations! you completed the mission.]
[“Ruler of Muspelheim”you won the template]
[Bonus Reward:Surtr's sword]
[Do you want to redeem rewards?]
[Y/N]
I didn't immediately use the rewards, and I looked at the man who had been watching me with an uneasy expression.
"What's your name?" I asked.
Upon hearing this question, the man seemed lost in thought. I couldn't help but sigh inwardly, as it was typical for people to get lost in thought when asked about their names.
"People call me Soldier Boy. If you're asking for my real name, it's John," he said.
"All right, John, would you like to join me?" I asked.
The reason I wanted him in my team was that he seemed to care about no one but himself. I noticed this while fighting alongside him. This had its pros and cons for me, but if he followed my orders well, his benefits would outweigh the drawbacks.
The man looked a bit surprised by my question. After a short moment of confusion, he asked me a question in return.
"If you tell me who you are and what your purpose is, I'll join you," he said.
"My name is Derek Stacy, and I am a war god. My sole purpose is to become even more powerful," I said without hesitation.
"A god?" John chuckled.
"Who else but a god can do this?" I said, gesturing around me.
Around us, there was nothing but devastation, with human limbs visible beneath some of the rubble. It was as if this city had been punished by a god.
In a way, it was true. I was now a god. While it wasn't exactly a punishment, I had caused this destruction all around me.
After John looked at the destruction surrounding him, he turned back to me. He had a smile on his face and an air of excitement.
"I still can't believe you're a god, but I'll join you," he said.
I nodded and turned the chaos blades into gauntlets. I walked up to John and took out a super soldier serum from the system inventory, injecting it into his neck.
"What's this?" he asked in surprise.
"Don't worry, this will make you stronger. When you wake up, I'll give you more," I said.
Upon hearing my words, John didn't fully believe me, but before he could say anything else, he became dizzy and fell to the ground.
As soon as he passed out, I opened the system window and used my rewards.
