36-End Of War
I assumed a defensive stance as two warriors charged towards me, anticipating the first attack. The violet energy in their mace-like weapons was formidable, so avoiding their strikes was crucial.
As they closed in, the silver-haired girl leaped, forcefully slamming the ground, causing it to crack open and disrupting my balance.
The other warrior approached, swinging his mace from the side. Just as the mace was about to hit my arm, I turned it into ashes, evading the attack.
After my arm reappeared, I landed a punch to the man's jaw, making him drop to one knee. Seizing the opportunity, I aimed to decapitate him by swinging my sword.
During my sword swing, the silver-haired girl directed a purple beam at me. Reacting quickly, I abandoned my attack, using my sword as a shield against the incoming beam.
The purple beam hitting my sword caused my hands to tremble. Its strength was overwhelming, pushing me back about five meters.
Once I successfully blocked the entire beam, my hands were still shaking. Looking ahead, I saw the silver-haired girl lifting the other man by his arm, glaring at me with intense anger, as if visualizing devouring me.
"Calm down; getting this furious is detrimental to your health," I advised.
The man, hearing me, freed himself from the silver-haired girl's grip and charged towards me with all his might. Seeing this, I smiled – evidently, my provocation had worked.
I waited for the man to approach and make his first move. It seemed he was an expert in close combat, avoiding attacks that could harm me from a distance.
As he neared, he swung his mace with full force towards me. The mace's head ominously glowed.
*If this attack connects, I could sustain severe injuries.*
Thinking this, I took a step back. The mace narrowly missed me by a small margin. Just when I thought the man's assault had concluded, he twirled the mace around and swung it downward.
The brilliance at the mace's head had intensified, adding to my unease.
It was too late to evade the mace, so the only option to avoid it was turning my body into ashes.
Transforming into ashes, the mace passed through me, and just when I believed I had successfully avoided the attack, the mace hit the ground, causing a violet explosion.
Upon the violet explosion touching my ashes, I felt a burning sensation and intense pain. Transforming into ashes only protected me from physical attacks.
"AAGHH! You blue-skinned bastard!" I yelled and reconstructed my body, vigorously hurling my sword.
The man's mace stood firmly embedded in the ground, rendering him defenseless against my attack. Observing this scene from a distance, the silver-haired girl's eyes widened in panic.
"NOOO!"
Under her screams, my sword shattered the violet barrier around the man and smoothly beheaded him. The man's head fell to the ground, rolling to the feet of the silver-haired girl. After glancing at the head on the ground for a moment, the silver-haired girl lifted her head and locked eyes with me.
There was no expression on her face, but her eyes held infinite rage, and I knew eyes never lied.
"Given how furious she is, you must be quite close. Facing me was an unfortunate decision," I said with a broad smile.
If there's one thing I've learned about the Kree, it's that they get angry very quickly. I had to use this trait to my advantage.
"For what you've done, you will die!" exclaimed the silver-haired girl. There was still no expression on her face.
The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.
"Few words, much action," I retorted.
As the girl heard my words, she ran towards me, leaping into the air and slamming down. I had seen this attack before, so I wouldn't fall for it again.
"Do you think I'll fall for the same trick twice?"
I turned my body into ashes and took to the air. The earth beneath cracked open as I descended. After the tremors subsided, I landed, reconstructed my body, and vigorously hurled my sword at the silver-haired girl consecutively.
With each swing of my sword, crescent-shaped fire energies rapidly approached the silver-haired girl. She attempted to reduce the impact of my attacks by shielding herself with her mace.
When the fire energies hit her, she was sent flying ten meters. After flying that distance, she slammed her mace to the ground, regaining her composure.
Lifting her head, she sprinted towards me at full speed. Witnessing this, I also charged at her. Both of us swung our weapons, causing them to clash and sending shockwaves that cracked the ground around us.
The girl forced me a step back by kicking my stomach, lowering my defenses. Seizing the opportunity, she swung her mace down at me. I tried to protect myself using my sword, but when the mace struck, it caused the ground to crack, and I staggered a bit.
"I won't lie; you're quite powerful," I said to the girl.
Ignoring my words, she exerted more force on her mace, causing me to sink a bit deeper.
My foresight rune warned me as the mace in the girl's hand began to glow with a purplish hue.
I angled my sword, and as the mace collided with it, the impact cracked the ground further, causing me to slide about five meters.
While I lay on the ground, the girl stood up and walked towards me with slow steps, dragging her mace on the ground, leaving purple traces.
A smirk adorned her face as she stopped in front of me. "I told you you'd die for what you've done."
I remained silent upon hearing her words, overwhelmed by pain.
My blood, organs, bones, and muscles underwent a profound transformation. My blood turned a bright red, organs collapsed and regenerated, bones broke and reformed stronger, muscles died and revitalized with greater strength.
Having fought in this world since my descent, my war god template had surpassed a second limit.
"Why aren't you speaking?" the girl asked, growing angrier, thinking I ignored her.
"Not speaking won't prevent your death," she said, hurling her mace with all her might towards my head.
The mace glowed ominously. According to the silver-haired girl, this attack should have been fatal.
Just as the mace was about to strike my head, I caught it in mid-air with incredible reflexes. The purple glow on the mace burned my skin.
"You talk too much," I said, kicking the girl backward.
I stood up and ran towards the girl without wasting any time, swinging my sword from above. The girl saw this and raised her mace to block my sword.
My sword was engulfed in flames, radiating an incredible amount of heat. When my sword made contact with the handle of the mace, it effortlessly split it in half, severing the silver-haired girl's left arm from her shoulder.
"AAGHH!"
The girl groaned in pain, shocked as she looked at the piece of the mace in her right hand. A big smile appeared on my face upon witnessing this.
I thrust my sword into the ground, kicking the girl and causing her to slide about twenty meters. After her slide, she struggled to stand, clutching her abdomen.
With a slow and deliberate pace, I walked towards her. Each step intensified the despair on her face.
When I reached her, I grabbed her by the neck, lifting her into the air. The girl didn't resist, seemingly accepting her impending death.
"I pity you," I said, opening my palm. The sword I had thrust into the ground flew back into my hand.
After one last glance at the girl's hopeless face, I plunged the sword into her heart. As life drained from her eyes, she whispered, "I'm sorry, couldn't get my revenge."
After the girl's death, the flames on the sword spread to her, turning her into ashes.
Surveying the aftermath of my battle with the two warriors, there wasn't a single structure left standing, such was the devastation.
"Now, for the real prize."
I gripped the hilt of my sword with both hands and thrust it into the ground with all my might. As the sword embedded itself, I infused it with flames. As I did, red glowing symbols emerged on the ground.
After five minutes, the symbols fully formed, emitting a red glow. Flames erupted from my body and gathered in the sky.
Under the astonished gaze of the surrounding soldiers, a hundred-meter-long sword made of flames appeared in the sky.
The sword descended, creating an eighty-meter-deep hole upon impact. The whole planet shook as if experiencing an earthquake.
I retrieved my sword from the ground, causing the symbols and the flame-formed sword around me to vanish.
Eighty meters deep, I walked to the edge of the hole and without hesitation, jumped in. Once again, a massive stone door appeared before me, identical in shape to the previous one, with the only difference being the symbols engraved on it.
"It's like narrating the history of the planet," I remarked.
The symbols on the door were detailed and well-drawn. Upon closer inspection, I discovered that before being conquered by the Kree, a peaceful race inhabited this planet.
"The powerful do as they please."
The sole rule in this universe was simple: be powerful, and no one could oppose you. Contemplating this, I placed my hands on the stone door and melted it away.
Behind the stone door was a black void, and in the center of the void was a core even larger than the one from the previous encounter. The heat within the core felt more intense than the one I absorbed last time.
"I wonder what determines the heat of the core," I mused to myself.
"It could be the power of the beings living on its surface or the age of the planet," I added.
"Anyway, I'll think about that later," I said, approaching the planet's core and placing my hands on it.
As I absorbed the heat from the core, the flames within me rapidly grew, and the wounds on my body healed quickly.
Just three days later, the flames within me intensified further, and my height increased by ten centimeters.
It seemed I had surpassed a limit in the template, undergoing a qualitative change similar to the war god template.
I didn't dwell on it too much and continued absorbing the core.
