In front of a large mansion, there were approximately twenty police and special operations vehicles. Three helicopters were flying above the mansion, illuminating it.

A commissioner, holding a megaphone, said, "The area is surrounded, Derek. You'll pay for what you've done. If you don't want to get hurt, surrender."

Five minutes passed after the commissioner's words, but there was no sign of movement from inside the mansion.

The commissioner sighed, "Go in."

Meanwhile, inside the mansion, Derek, with a look of despair on his face, watched as the police and special operations team entered the mansion.

"What should we do, sir?" a guard behind Derek asked. This guard had been by Derek's side for almost twenty years and was one of his closest friends.

Upon hearing the guard's words, Derek furrowed his brows and, with anger, said, "Fight back!"

Hearing Derek's words, the guard smiled and extended his hand to Derek. "Just like the old days."

Derek, upon hearing these words, smiled and shook the guard's hand. "Yes, Alex."

Together, they left the room and joined the other guards. The conflict between the police and Derek had been ongoing for over a month. Except for Alex, only twenty-five guards remained.

Derek looked at his remaining men. He was thirty-five years old now, and he would most likely die after this conflict. He and his gang had done unforgivable things for money and power: they had killed people, engaged in drug trafficking, and even human trafficking.

The world, especially the police outside, hated them and wanted them dead.

"After this conflict, none of us will survive," Derek said, and he paused for five seconds, looking at the reactions on his guards' faces. He thought they would be afraid, no matter how loyal they were.

But to Derek's surprise, none of the guards even raised an eyebrow. Seeing this, Derek smiled and said, "Today is the last day for our family. After we're gone, most people will forget about us, and those who remember will mock our names."

Derek spoke with anger, and as he continued to talk, his guards' faces showed signs of anger.

"Kill as many as you can before you die. Even after we're gone, let people fear our family!"

When Derek finished speaking, the guards, in unison, shouted and grabbed their weapons.

"Remember the training you've received and use the shadows. Today, we'll show the world how ruthless we can be again!"

As Derek said this, the guards, along with Alex, scattered inside the mansion and began hunting down the police.

Just two minutes later, gunshots started echoing from inside the mansion. Hearing the gunshots, Derek headed towards them.

Derek held a pistol with a suppressor at the end. He used the shadows to hide himself and quietly approached a police officer, shooting him in the head.

When one police officer fell, the others grew nervous and pointed their guns at the shadows.

One of the officers said, "We need backup at our location." As the officers used their flashlights to search the shadows, Derek silently approached another police officer and, drawing his knife, stabbed the officer in the throat.

The other police officers couldn't react, and Derek shot two of them in the head. Just as he was about to move on to find more police officers, a bullet hit Derek's leg.

Derek knelt in pain, and the bullet had shattered his kneecap.

Before the pain in his right leg subsided, another bullet hit his left leg. Derek's legs were now unusable.

Looking around, about ten SWAT team members emerged from the shadows and surrounded him. Derek stared angrily at the people around him.

Derek pointed his pistol at a SWAT member and fired. The bullet hit the SWAT member's vest, causing him to take a step back.

Another bullet hit Derek's hand, making him drop his pistol.

Another SWAT member approached Derek and stood in front of him, aiming his pistol at Derek's head.

"You're a damned piece of trash," the man said and pulled the trigger. The last thing Derek remembered was the sound the gun made and a bright light.

"How did I end up here?" Derek thought, filled with sorrow.

Derek(pov)

I grew up in an orphanage with my sister. Our family had abandoned us when we were very young, so we didn't remember them. The caretakers at the orphanage treated us well. It was the first time I felt a sense of family love there.

We were adopted by a family when we were 14 years old. The adopting family seemed kind-hearted, so we were very happy. However, the truth came out just a month later, and disputes started within the family, with my sister and me becoming the victims.

We endured violence for two years. I tried to report it to the police, but they only opened an investigation.

One day, my stepfather dared to touch my sister. I quickly grabbed a knife from the kitchen and, in anger, stabbed him in the back.

After that incident, my stepfather was taken to the hospital. My sister and I were thrown onto the streets. When we turned 17, my sister fell ill.

I was working on a construction site, but I didn't have enough money to pay for her treatment. To earn more money, I got involved in illegal activities. I joined a gang as a protector and quickly amassed a good amount of money.

I paid for my sister's medical bills, and she underwent surgery, but it was unsuccessful, and I lost my sister three months later.

During this time, the gang took care of me, and I became part of their family. Over time, I grew more attached to the gang and rapidly climbed the ranks.

It took me three years to go from a regular enforcer to leading the gang. I was 20 years old, and with the energy of youth, I did some terrible things.

In reality, what I did was for the gang's growth, but it was corrupting me rapidly. Five years later, the gang expanded quickly, becoming one of the country's largest.

People despised me and my gang, but we didn't care; we used their hatred to strengthen ourselves. Ten years later, the gang had grown so much that it could be compared to a small nation in terms of military power.

Our power bothered other countries, and they decided to eliminate us. As strong as we were, we couldn't stand up to the larger nations. Just a month later, there was nothing left but a mansion and 25 guards.

After that, I died. I wonder what my sister would have said if she had seen the monster I had become? Would she have been afraid of me?

In reality, I don't know why I'm thinking all of this. It's as if my life is flashing before my eyes like a film reel.
