When I saw the system notification, I wasted no time and followed the red mist that appeared. After tracking the red mist for ten minutes, it split into two. I quickly chose one and continued forward.
I had to hunt down as many as I could while Black Noir's death kept the media distracted.
I followed the red mist for about half an hour, and it led me to an apartment building. I entered the building, took the elevator, and started exploring all the floors.
The building had ten floors, with at least ten apartments on each floor. Just as I was considering wiping out everyone inside the building, a man came out of the bathroom and stumbled to the ground.
"Are you okay?" I asked, extending my hand.
"Thanks," he said and shook my hand.
As soon as his hand touched mine, memories from my past flashed before my eyes. In astonishment, I looked at the man, who had the same bewildered expression on his face.
"What was that?" I asked.
When he heard my question, his shocked expression turned to fear.
"I-I don't know," he stammered.
Since the man seemed so terrified, he must have seen my memories from my previous life. I didn't know why it happened, but I couldn't let this man live.
I quickly grabbed him by the throat and lifted him into the air. He was just an ordinary human and couldn't react to my speed. When he touched my hand in an attempt to free himself, my old memories flashed before my eyes again.
In a moment of shock, I let go of the man. He gasped for breath and dropped to his knees, then hurriedly ran to the elevator and pressed the button without hesitation.
"This guy is not normal!" I exclaimed, snapping out of my astonishment.
As I recovered from my shock, the elevator had already arrived, and its door had opened. The man quickly entered the elevator and pressed the button.
With an angry expression on my face, I rushed towards the elevator. Even though I was still halfway there, the elevator's door closed, but that was no obstacle for me.
Without losing any speed, I slammed into the elevator door and forced it open to squeeze him inside. When I looked at the elevator floor, I saw a scattered pool of blood.
I was about to check if the man was dead when the red mist that covered the building disappeared.
If you encounter this story on Amazon, note that it's taken without permission from the author. Report it.
"So, his ability is telepathy, showing me my past memories should not surprise me," I muttered.
Without wasting any more time, I quickly left the building and followed the red mist. I was already excited about the new template I was going to acquire.

Meanwhile, in the Vought building, Homelander was seated in a chair, listening to the woman in front of him. The woman was trying to convince him that she wasn't killed by the person Black Noir had mentioned.
"You know that Black Noir isn't that powerful. Someone else with superpowers must have killed him," the woman said.
Homelander's face twisted with anger upon hearing the woman's words.
"You know damn well that the person I mentioned killed Black Noir! Don't delude yourself. Someone out there is hunting down superheroes, and we need to do something about it!" Homelander exclaimed.
As Homelander finished speaking, a knock on the door pointed to someone entering the room.
"You can come in," the woman said.
The door opened, and a young woman in a uniform, seemingly a secretary, entered the room.
"Mrs. Madelyn, as you suggested, I did some research. I've confirmed that some super-powered individuals have been killed," the secretary said.
Madelyn's heart began to race upon hearing these words. If there was indeed a hunter out there, as Homelander had claimed, and if this hunter was as powerful as Homelander, it posed a significant problem.
"Tell me the names of the deceased," Madelyn demanded.
"Black Noir, Translucent, Mesmer, Gunpowder, Eagle The Archer, all deceased, ma'am," the secretary replied.
Homelander and Madelyn fell into a stunned silence upon hearing the names of the deceased. After dismissing the secretary from the room, Madelyn sat down, lost in thought.
"If The Seven and Soldier Boy join forces, they can take him down," Madelyn said.
Homelander was so surprised by this statement that his eyes nearly popped out of their sockets.
"Isn't Soldier Boy dead?" Homelander asked.
The entire world had been told that Soldier Boy died in a mysterious explosion. Vought had investigated the explosion site, but Soldier Boy was never found.
Even Soldier Boy's old close friend, Black Noir, believed he was dead.
"If Soldier Boy joins us, it's possible," Homelander said with a smile on his face.
"Tell The Seven not to leave the base starting tomorrow," Madelyn instructed.

Meanwhile, Hughie was sitting in a restaurant, gazing at the girl in front of him. The girl had blonde hair, blue eyes, fair skin, and stood at around 170 centimeters tall.
She wore a hood and sunglasses to conceal her identity because she was one of the members of The Seven, a group of powerful superheroes.
Her real name was Annie, and her superhero name was Starlight. She had met Hughie five days ago, and they had quickly become a couple.
Today, he had called her here and wanted to explain the reason.
"Why did you call me?" Annie asked.
Vought had prohibited her from breaking ties with them, and all eyes were still on her.
"I want to warn you," Hughie said.
Annie became uneasy upon hearing these words and asked, "Warn me about what?"
"There's a powerful guy who doesn't work for Vought that has emerged. I wanted to warn you, if the company ever asks you to apprehend an unlawful individual, don't accept that mission," Hughie said.
Annie smiled at these words and laughed genuinely a second later. She was Starlight, a member of The Seven; who could harm her?
"Don't worry, Hughie. I can take care of myself," Annie said.
Hughie was about to object when he heard a shouting from behind. When he turned around, he saw someone he didn't want to see right now.

It took me an hour to reach the location indicated by the red mist. The red mist was pointing to a large red house.
The house was two stories high and had a spacious garden. It seemed as if it had been specially painted in red.
Silently, I entered the garden of the house and approached the door. As I got closer to the door, I heard footsteps from inside. Without hesitation, I kicked the door, breaking it open.
Inside, there was a red-haired woman who looked at me in astonishment. After a moment of shock, she extended her hand towards me and unleashed a pillar of fire.
The fire failed to harm me, it couldn't even damage my specialized suit. While the woman continued to throw fire at me, I walked towards her and delivered a punch to her abdomen, making her vomit.
As she was vomiting, I delivered another punch, sending her flying towards the adjacent walls. After passing through two walls, she fell to the ground. When I approached her, she was severely injured and pleaded with me through her eyes.
"Pitiful," I said, and with one final punch, I killed her.
The moment I killed her, as always, two system windows appeared congratulating me. I quickly closed the congratulatory system window and looked at my next target.
