Chapter 59

The atmosphere became tense between the three cultivators, as each side was waiting for the other to make the first move before attacking.

This situation remained for a few seconds until Cyrus said a few words.

"Let's play it defensively. We cannot get hit by one of those attacks, or we are done, "Cyrus said to his companion.

"I will do my best," Denise replied, concentrating her energy on her hands.

"That will be if I allow you to do it," Gar said as he suddenly dashed toward Cyrus.

With a flap of his new wings, Gar appeared in front of the Yuoko cultivator without giving him almost no time to react and quickly cut downwards with one of his energy scythes to try to cut Cyrus in half.

The swordsman saw the danger near him, but he quickly took a step to the left, just enough to evade Gar's attack by a few centimeters, before jumping to try to stab with his left sword through his enemy's neck.

The Guburg cultivator reacted by taking a step back, to which Cyrus responded by sending a horizontal air slash towards his enemy's chest with his right sword.

Sadly for him, Gar managed to block that attack with one of his arms, which only received a little cut before he kicked Cyrus and sent him flying a few meters away, which made him drop one of his swords.

For a few seconds, Gar saw the victory just a few movements away, as his rival was now recovering from the last hit and he had lost one of his weapons, but then he remembered that that fight was not a duel and it was actually a one-versus-two.

Feeling a sense of danger behind him, he quickly covered all of his body with a dense aura of dark energy, just in time before two air spears hit his back, managing to reduce the damage to almost none.

"You know, little girl, this new eye of mine is pretty useful. It allows me to see and sense things that I wouldn't normally be able to see. " Gar said while laughing, before his aura exploded into a burst of dark flames.

Seeing that they were about to be devoured by the flame, both of Gar's rivals tried to defend themselves with different methods: Denise created an air barrier that deflected the flames upwards, while Cyrus used his remaining sword with both hands to create a few air slashes that cut in half the sea of fire, creating a small safe area for him to remain.

Seeing that Gar still had a few techniques that he hadn't used yet and his energy seemed to be much more abundant than theirs, both cultivators decided that they needed to end the battle as soon as possible before they were too weak to continue fighting.

Denise quickly concentrated all her remaining energy on her hands before extending her arms as far as she could, which caused the energy to take a linear shape. With a few hand signs from the cultivator, that energy moved around the battlefield, creating a circle made of energy that surrounded Gar, only to seconds later transform into hundreds of sharp, small darts made of air energy that began to shoot themselves randomly at Gar.

This technique forced the Guburg cultivator into a defensive position where he needed to rely on his aura to block every single one of those attacks. While he was doing this, Cyrus grabbed his sword again with both hands and began to feed it with all the energy that he still had.

At first, the blade grew in size as the air energy made it gain a few extra centimeters, but soon after, the external energy was reabsorbed by the weapon, which began to shine with great intensity.

The sword continued to gather energy for a few more seconds, until the point at which it began to vibrate as if it couldn't contain any more energy. Even though this happened, Cyrus didn't stop. He continued gathering energy for his weapon as he watched how Denise continued shooting darts at Gar.

Suddenly, a few cracks appeared on Cyrus' sword, and energy began to leak from them, and at the same time, Denise used her last energy dart, so Gar's aura disappeared.

Even so, Gar turned back as he sensed all the energy accumulated on his enemy's weapon, but he didn't have time to react.

Cyrus quickly dashed towards Gar, and with a swift movement, thrust his swords aiming toward his enemy's heart. Gar tried to use his dark scythes to block that attack, but they shattered under the pressure of Cyrus' attack.

Cyrus' sword went through Gar's arm and chest, leaving behind a hole as big as a fist before the weapon turned itself into dust because of the pressure.

At the same time that he managed to do this, both Edwin and Raziel arrived on the floor where they were fighting.
